The poison bomb became repetitive. You either had to destroy the th in the beginning and use warden ability there because otherwise most of your troops would die. Or you had to destroy the townhall at the end since the bomb itself was way to strong. Since the th17 update the game became much more divers again. Not the same over and over again. Th15 was also not balanced well. Average players stand no chance against it. This is someone speaking who is at 6200 trophies.

💯, imo th17 concept is great, defenses just have to get a slight boost to matter more as individuals, especially the eagle inferno. When I first saw th17 I was like, finally a meta changer, but yet old strats are still broken

The problem is that defenses are meaningless when you have an ability that can destroy all your key defenses with minimum effort like the fireball which shouldn't exist due to his game breaking nature. In the long term Supercell has to implement a ban system for hero equipment in wars to balance the game properly to get a healthy competitive enviroment

*This is my assessment:* *1. Removing the EA is completely fine since they replace it with 2 Fire Spitters* Why it's fine? - because many players like me snipe the EA first most of the time. Now that the EA is gone i need to penetrate a base with Fire Spitters. Aside from that, new level of defense means more HP and damage. Not to mention the upgrades for SS, Xbow etc has yet to come. *2. Nerfing the Giga Bomb is the most stupd thing they did!* Players love to spam atks and yet they nerf the most terrifying defense! *3. They keep releasing OP equipements* This system really broke the game. My point is, if they love to keep releasing OP equipment they should have atleast retain the EA and Giga Bomb to counter these equipments

What they need to do is add back eagle and make it its own building , it adds a lot more strategy on how people attack and it’s good for defensive strength. And buff the giga bomb to have a freeze or poisen

The next step: tweakable defenses. A knob or two that allows you to tweak your defenses between eg. High HP instead of DPS, faster attack speed but slower range, effectively taking the gear-up mechanic but improving it further. Meaning that some strategies like fireball nuke can fail because a player went for higher HP on key defenses like the scattershot or inferno, or edrags being less capable of surviving as a result of buffed air defenses in exchange for them being more frail.

Simple balance feature. Add an optional hardcore mode. Harder defenses + lower HP troops with much higher rewards. Only match players with this also turned on etc. and make it non optional in max leagues

EA just perfect for melt giant troop but also backdoor squishy, once u mess up Funnel/path, its done. One of reason EA nightmare for mid TH player (they not used to strat) So it makes TH 17 like TH 10 gameplay (Pre-EA) buff version, but also have experience of TH 12 (TH attack) which is unique combination. This either they fail to balance, or just straight up bad decision.

This would be solved by putting hard mode in legends league and champ CWL while making it optional for regular wars. Also pre-nerf root rider spam took very little skill and you could crush virtually any base as a decent TH15.

I think u should never get rid of key defenses that come with upgrading TH like EA l.. 2nd i think the sceneries r pointless and r just a money grab unless for every scenery you choose there is a unique defense that comes only with that base. i also thought the same thing for different skins but the emergence of hero equipment is enough. to make the game more balance bring back EA maybe add another inferno if you dnt add the EA back buff the TH17 to make it feel more as the eagle got merged but i agree with the destruction of th17 and theres no poison that helped alot to make it easier

Balancing for most players is kinda wrong, cuz almost all player aren't even th14. Eagle being a big impact is no entirely right cuz in almost all attack stratege, you destroy it before it event get attivacted. Is easier most likely cuz the gigabomb is dead and now you can just focus on the th without any consequence not having both the gigabomb killing your squad, or the eagle still standing, but it was already easy before th17. Few month ago with only th14 i was already having some 3 stars on specific base of some th16, so saying th17 is the problem is not all there is to it. I think, when all arcers and cannon towers got merged, it will get a little more difficult, but stand the fact that if defense is always one step behind attack, it will always be easier attacking, and i think is kinda alright. First most player will never reach max th, second most player spam attack the same attack against all base, resulting in a low ratio of 3 stars, and third, th17 just got released, obviously they will buff it or change something to it, they are most likely trying the meta to adjust the stats of everything. Just think at how as it always been, example root rider started broken and hell came to earth, next they nerfet it. This time they most likely are trying the opposite approach, starting with a low power output, to switch on a stronger one slowly, so as non to make player experience a th15 for the second time. Btw if it is like this, this mean they are taking in consideration old problems and old discussion on the community, and is a good thing.

Anyone who thinks a max 16 is somehow stronger than a max 17 has 0 gamesense. Th16 was by FAR the easiest townhall ever. Th17 is more difficult when maxed, although still an absolute joke compared to th15. I'll tell you what the reason for all this is: Hero equipment. A cash Grab for supercell that COMPLETELY ruined the games balance. With equipment as overpowered as it is, there's no way for a defensive meta to exist. Simply impossible

WOW! I totally agree! Hero equipment has completely removed every last drop of competitive integrity from this once very challenging game. Hardmode should NOT have to exist, and they must begin nerfing Hero Equipment SIGNIFICANTLY. Right now, all the bases from TH16 - 17 look pretty much the exact same. They are all anti-2-star bases to protect against warden fireballs, and all the attacks are PURE spam which involve hero equipment taking out a 3rd of the bases on its own. Make 3 stars rare again, PLEASE!

Despite what many say, I don’t believe th17 is super easy. The whole point of th17 was to shake up the meta, which it did. I will say that some mainstream strategies are wayy too easy atm, but give supercell time to balance the game before you make harsh critiques.
