Few people understand the deceptive term "democratic centralism". The concept, formulated by Lenin, simply meant that only the Communist Party could be trusted to rule in the name of the "proletariat". It also meant that the Central Committee ruled in the name of the Party. Coupled with the concept of "dictatorship of the proletariat", it meant that the Central Committee ruled over all.

You know the the wider who and why. Who seems to mirror the Socialist Republics' ideology, and who sees an in-depth study of such as a threat to their pursuit of further power? Could it be the same parties bought out by Soviets in the 30s- 90s, and immediately after, the Chinese State? The global-empire wet dream that is the UN, partnered with Alphabet? The answer would be both all of the above and none.

Stalin had it in for the Jews long before 1948. That aside, you've heard of the title "Twice a Hero of the Soviet Union" (someone awarded the Gold Star twice). The Russians came up later with a twist to that title: "Twice a Jew of the Soviet Union". It referred to Jews who had left the Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel, they then discovered that life was better/safer in the USSR and so returned to Russia.

It should be noted that egalitarianism can never be attainable in nations (nature of societies of the world as a whole) of which State power/control is absolute. Collectivist heads know this, at times before, during, and after the rise of the Soviet Empire, and as such, where egalitarianism has always been a shroud for State absolutism, it can only mean that same absolutism is the goal going forward.

This discussion of the many ethnic cultural groups within the Soviet Union was helpful. I didn't really appreciate the great diversity within that empire. Suppressing native culture and language is not a way to build a common sense of a national identity within a large empire. We saw this with the breakup of Yugoslavia; and the vicious war that followed. It is clear that Ukraine is a distinct non Russian, culture, language, and national entity. The discussion of Russian ppl being expelled or encouraged to leave many Soviet provinces was very interesting. Dr Sowell's scholarship of world cultures and political entities is impressive; and I think unique. Many thanks for this discussion. 🤔🤔🤔

It's interesting that Caucasian Europeans made the effort to document peoples who languages were going to disappear and even assist those people in recording their own history in ways later civilizations might be able to observe and appreciate. The USA named at least 1/3 of their place names after the people who were there first. Yet the Left imagines using the indigenous peoples' words and names was "cultural appropriation".

That's mainly because it was very far from any sort of a just state, especially to the citizens thereof; and from men who've grown up there: they pretty soon ran out of gas for their vehicles. Now who, I ask you, owned vehicles in their destitute market system? The political officers primarily, that's who; and that shows you just who was likely complaining about being out of gas and likely having to physically push their vehicle to the gas station on the glimmer of a hope that it had fuel. That's *way* worse than Jimmy Carter's gas crisis problem, let me tell you, and it was about the same time, chronologically, but theirs was due to top-down command economics and thus economic mismanagement.

It may surprise you, but the general opinion among Russians now is that, in fact, the collapse of the Soviet Union is beneficial to Russia. If you think about it, supporting and developing the Asian and Caucasian (mainly) republics was very expensive for the Russian Federation. Now, without this burden, Russians can finally focus on themselves. And, as you can see, Russia is doing very well. Note that the only former republics whose governments are on good terms with Russia are doing well economically: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan. I don't count the Baltic Chihuahuas who live mostly on EU donations after the EU destroyed their industry. The rest of the republics mostly survive on the migrant workers money they earn in Russia: Moldova Ukraine (5 000 000 worked in Russia before the war, according to Ukrainian officials) Armenia (more Armenians live/work in Russia than in Armenia itself) Georgia Asian republics: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan. For Russia, it's not a bad thing at all to not be responsible for the development of the former Soviet Union's territories, but instead have their workers do the hard work, right?

Ok, after "concurred whole nations, such as Ukraine" I can safely stop hearing this idiocy. Kyiv (and that's a capital of a current Ukraine, if someone don't know) was not f concurred, it's literally an old capital of Russia, and its historical center. So, Russia "concurred itself". When the term "Okraina" started to exist, Tsar's Russia was already more than a thousand-year-old. It just means "a border"/"edge". There is no such race or ethnicity as Ukrainians, even "Ukrainian language" is just an artificial construct of older Russian language and Polish; it's also 3 times more poor than both Russian or Polish, that's why most of the Ukrainians just using Russian. Yeah, the West truly wants Russian minorities to split and to war each other, that's a fact. This narrative is a part of it, and originally was created and pushed by Poland, who always wanted a piece of those lands. They were also beaten a lot by Russia, crushing Poland and co empires at least 3 times. That's a reason for them both desperately hating Russians, and feeling like a miserable beaten dog, all vindictive. This country damn dreams of not only revenge, but also for recreating its empire (btw, not only them: Erdogan wants an own too, some German forces, etc.). Guess which country mercenaries are the most often to meet now, in the war of the West on Ukraine against Russia? It's Poland. The coup attempt in Belarus was also done by Poland, even the methods are the same, and the separatists flag history are the same (btw, current Russian flag too, but Russia somehow don't care at all). Sponsored and curated by the older West, as always, like the UK or USA. No one wants to speak about this today, but Tsar's Russia was just a part of a current Europe, a family of it. Like the EU in a current times. All Tsars were European blue bloods, and the monarchy of Europe were literally their blood relatives, always. And yes, as all European blue bloods, they also f those relatives, that's why all of them had leukemia at the moment of revolution happened. Highly incestuous... But anyway, that's why they never really marched on the West, those areas were not only filled with their relatives, but also were highly competitive and not really filled with the resources (Europe was a can of spiders for a long time, and also people lived there widely for a long time). They've marched to the East instead, and you should perceive this as a European family expansion, and nothing more really. Ofc, conflicts with the Europe sometimes happened, same as Russia helped with its wars a lot too, and also don't forget that both WW were against it, with new territories as a result, etc. Nobody wants to talk today, either, about Communism being a European invention. Lenin grabbed it when he was exiled to Europe, google who Karl Marx is. The coup was also sponsored by the Germany, and originally it wanted to overcome its relatives, seizing the control over its territories. Do real Russia existed? Well, yes. Actually, Russia (Rus', [Русь]) existed for more than 5k years, and presumably taken place on the ~30% of the western part of the current Russia. It also were referred by the Ancient Rome as an "Eastern barbarians", never to be defeated, and served as an impenetrable wall to the East, forming Eastern borders of the Rome. Don't doubt, they were hating it the same as Europe hating Russia now. Nobody really know what's happened to it changing to the Tsar's Russia, everything even linked to it were thoroughly erased somehow. But the Russian history books teaching today, that the Rus' asked European monarchy to "bring an art of government", thus "forming a country". Some proofs are against it, tho, but no doubt that something really bad happened inside the Rus' - its technologies were way ahead of a time before the event, and after - degraded heavily. E.g., before the event, leader's coffins were done from metal (also it was alloy), with very precise and technologically heavy incrustation, but after - coffins were done from wood, and with very crude wood carving, like it was done by an idiot lumberjack at his rest time. Well, anyway. Real equality is not possible, obviously. People will never be equal. But, more equality is ofc possible, and that's what matters the most. In the Tsar's Russia, 95% of the people were stripped from the basic rights. Those were unable to read or write (no education), most of them were just straightly slaves, forced to manually work their whole life, same as their kids will be. No savings, no own goods, those people owned nothing. They cannot even travel to another region of Russia, instead, owners could send them or sell. So yeah, it was a jail of nations, a jail of Europe occupancy. Communism really solved a lot of this, and was perfect for this. Its time has passed, tho, and now there is no need for this radical measures.

I may surprise you, but the general opinion among Russians now is that, in fact, the collapse of the Soviet Union is beneficial to Russia.

What most people don't know, is, that Stalin in fact finished with the at least official equal payment policy of the early Bolsheviks and promoted a greater spread of salaries among the population.

Народ и партия едины, раздельны только магазины - People and Party are united, only stores are separate! differences between republics, provinces, netionalities and so on were much less then between average Sovok and Party Elite. Ethnical statistics from USSR is nonsense. "Russian" was just a default, as it caused much less tensions. Like one my school friend - 3/4 Jew, 1/4 Georgian, what is this mix? Yes, Russian! Especially in Slavic republics, where vast majority of mixed marriage kids were registered as Russians. Russian language was "language of inter-nationality communication", effectively a state language for the whole USSR, obligatory to use in any official, work or commercial affairs. So it had very little sense to be a "natsmen" (national minority), if you wanted to go ahead you had to go together with USSR, not local republic, ie with Russian language, culture, education, party, science and so on. Those who could not (middle Asians first of all) left behind, no fluent Russian - no chance to get out from kishlak (Asian village), and stay there for the whole life as poorest agriculture worker. From the other side those natsmens who successfully joined Russian mainstream had no differences or difficulties (with rare exclusions like Jews or Roma), no one cared that he is Ukrainian, Kasakh or Armenian if he lives and works in usual Russian environment.

Which is not easily learned from listening and understanding the study of economics. The research has already proven economics does not fit in a capitalist society.
