Chris, you truly don't understand the logic behind requiring an ID to vote? I dont believe it. You're too smart. Voting is one of the most important things we do as citizens. Every state provides a valid ID card, even if you dont drive. You need an ID to get on an airplane, to enter a federal building, to rent an apartment, to buy a house, to buy a car. Having an ID card is a normal part of being a citizen in every country. Saying that poor people can't figure out how to get an ID is an extremely ignorant statement and shows you've never really spent too much time around poor people. The only reason a person or a government would be against showing an ID before voting is because that person or government does not care about electoral fraud.
@oldmanskatesАй бұрын
I agree. There could be a way to differentiate a special temporary drivers license to still restrict invalid voting.

To comment on your guest about the better future that the young people want and they think Trump can provide them that they had back in 2019. Trump was coming off the back of Barack Obama’s economy. It takes a little while to develop. As we all know. Trump was taking credit for Obama and Biden‘s accomplishments and everybody believed it. So when Biden came into office, he was riding Trump’s economy, which was terrible and it took him a few years to get out of that and now our economy is doing much better, which hardly anyone will admit because all of the maga Republicans are lying about it. All of the legislation that Joe Biden passed in his first two years of his administration are just now coming to Pass because it takes so long for things to get moving and people are now starting to feel the effects of it. Inflation is going down and I’m so sick and tired of Republicans talking about how they can bring lower inflation and more jobs and, become energy efficient. We are already here, and Joe Biden has done that for us. If Trump gets elected, we will be thrown into an automatic recession with his tariff plan and to cut taxes again for the rich.

One of the most significant moments in McLaughlin's career came during his work for Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. McLaughlin was known for consistently producing polls that showed Trump performing better than he actually did according to most major polling organizations. Critics argued that this kind of skewed polling not only gave Trump and his supporters a false sense of security, but also contributed to the broader strategy of casting doubt on polls and media organizations that were more critical of Trump’s presidency. For example, in the run-up to the 2020 election, many polls showed Trump trailing Joe Biden by significant margins, yet McLaughlin’s polls consistently painted a more favorable picture for Trump. This contrast led some to claim that McLaughlin’s polls were being used as part of a broader effort to manipulate public perception and generate confidence among the Republican base. After Trump’s loss, McLaughlin was one of the figures who supported claims of election fraud, further contributing to the narrative that the 2020 election was "stolen"-an unfounded claim that fueled misinformation and division within the U.S. This kind of involvement is seen as less about accurately reflecting public opinion and more about influencing it-essentially serving the needs of the party rather than upholding the objective integrity of the polling process. Critics would argue that McLaughlin, in this sense, acts more as a partisan tool, advancing a political agenda through selective data interpretation and the dissemination of favorable polling results to maintain Republican morale and messaging.

I don’t know anything about this guy but if he was saying it was closer than the major polling organizations in 2020 he was right. At this time in 2020 they were saying Biden was up 10 nationally, versus his actual 4.5. That was almost double their error in 2016 which was considered historically bad. But the swing states that decided the election were razor thin. Around 120k votes combined was Biden final lead across Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona. It doesn’t get much closer than that.
@jrhemmerichАй бұрын
@@DetroitCat611, Why? Is it so hard to hear something you don’t agree with? Since you are obviously already correct, can’t it help you, at the very least, dismantle the errors? Are you the only one smart enough to detect error? Everybody else will be deceived? Really?
@jrhemmerichАй бұрын
This argument might have some validity. There are two weak points. 1. The 2016 polls were very off. 2. The 2020 polls that he offered did not have such a wide margins as to necessitate fraud arguments to explain the loss. So, I’m not sure the conclusion you draw follows.

The difference is we know what Trump is going to do, he did it, and he says he’ll do it again. We could and should assume what Harris is going to do since it’s whatever Biden is doing, but if she’s says it will be different then she needs to explain because she has no record to look at.

While John McLaughlin may be a professional pollster, his deep ties to the Republican Party and his consistent production of polling data that aligns with Republican messaging have led many to view him more as a political operative than an impartial analyst. His critics argue that rather than providing objective insights into public opinion, he is helping to craft a version of reality that benefits his Republican clients. Whether through favorable polls or the amplification of narratives that align with GOP talking points, McLaughlin's work is often seen as part of a broader strategy to influence, rather than reflect, public opinion. In this sense, calling him a "Republican pollster" is not merely a statement of affiliation, but a reflection of how his work is perceived as being intertwined with the broader goals of the Republican Party, making him a tool in the dissemination of partisan propaganda rather than an independent purveyor of public opinion.

Chris, I find it insulting that you would laugh at this guy saying to his Republican counterparts if you make GA a great place to live you’re going to get more Democrats to live there. Every state should be a great place to live. We know Republican states are not great places to live because they don’t collect taxes therefore They don’t usually have a lot of the social safety net that Democratic states have & need to survive and they do worse in healthcare and education. It’s unacceptable to see that form of behavior as normal and something that we should just laugh off and be OK with. Everybody no matter where you live deserves, a decent place to live and I hope that you agree with that.

John McLaughlin is often identified as a "Republican pollster," a label that carries implications beyond the profession of conducting surveys and analyzing public opinion. The term suggests that his work is not solely about objectively gathering data, but rather about shaping narratives that align with the political goals of the Republican Party. While he may have legitimate expertise in polling and political strategy, critics argue that his analyses and predictions often reflect partisan biases that serve to bolster Republican viewpoints and electoral chances.
