Been hitting the Kempner diet for a week and at 52 in the best shape ever. 20 BMI, 29 inch waist and doing workouts up to 500 burpees. No meds! White rice, potatoes, fruit juice, SUGAR and beans.

my mother reversed 12 years of insulin dependent Type 2 diabetes in one year on a nutrient dense plant-based diet - it was interesting and surprising to me that she was taken off of insulin by her doctor before my mom had lost all the extra weight - I am thinking that she lost her visceral fat first and that was the biggest problem

Carbohydrates make blood sugar rise but doesn’t make you diabetic “Epidemiological evidence and intervention studies clearly show that in humans Saturated Fat significantly worsen insulin-resistance, while monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids improve it through modifications in the composition of cell membranes which reflect at least in part dietary fat composition.”

@@doddsalfa Fat is the only macro that does not spike BG and hence insulin. Only carbs/proteins do. You can find that evidence yourself. Eat some fatty salmon and measure your BG after 1hr. After a fap eat rice or bread and measure your BG. You will get your evidence.

beans are a healthy starch, but thats because of the fiber content which helps promote insulin sensitivity, grains however are the opposite. also, i love doctor mcdougall, but millions of people are insulin resistance and not overweight. insulin resistance or hyperinsuin metabolics states causing type two diabetes are not caused by obesity, they are caused by the cells having to use insulin constantly to process certain foods, especailly carbohydates but also other foods,
