As the Russia-Ukraine war is largely stuck in a bloody stalemate, Crimea is becoming an increasingly important battleground. Satellite images show Russia has constructed marine defenses across Crimea to protect its key assets, including the Kerch Bridge. The bridge has already been attacked twice by Kyiv and there could be further strikes at the crossing.
WSJ looks at why the $3.6 billion Kerch Bridge is key to both Kyiv and Moscow.

@@erikpienk How does it matter when this war will end with a negotiated ceasefire on Russian terms? Russia is not going anywhere without securing Kharkov (to protect belgorod, kursk, bryansk) and Odessa (to protect black sea fleet) so yeah cope. Ukraine could've negotiated in March or April 2022 and kept more of its land and men but it had to sacrifice two entire generations of men only to lose anyways? Sounds like winning to me. I guess that's what happens when Boris Johnson and Victoria Nuland are calling the shots for you and not your own leaders. 🤷‍♂️

Not once do you all say why Ukraine attacks the Kerch Bridge & imply it's a "symbol." BS! It is a major military supply route for the Russians to keep train and vehicles supplying forces in Crimea. It is a route further away from front line where train tracks are within attack range. It is a military supply route key to Putin's goal of establishing the old Soviet sattelite states & acquiring warm water harbors. Pitiful reporting.

@@plastic14407The transcript states, " Stretching for 12 miles the crucial supply route is vital for Russia to keep safe, while Ukraine is set on making it vulnerable.". WSJ apologists omit that it is a crucial MILITARY rail and motor vehicle supply route. Putin protested too much when he told Tucker Carlson that misinformation campaigns were too expensive. Cough cough. If Russia invaded the US with ground troops, to frame the US as the destablizer attacking infrastructure as WSJ has done here with Ukraine is reprehensible. Entire towns & communities in Ukraine are rubble worse than Hurricane Katrina or Cat 5 tornados. Russia is objectively the aggressor & destablizer. It's dictator is a war criminal with international warrants for deporting thousands of Ukrainian children. WSJ's gray both-sides-ism, wrapped in "fairness" and "neutrality," distorts a black & white situation. How they'll cry foul when an authoritarian, God forbid, invades their offices, arrests their people, and destroys their equipment & work. It won't be so gray then.

Only if one unmistakenly, in their eyes, move in a way that one looks like "food" to them they might bite and have a taste - after which they'd find out that one doesn't taste like "food" after all and eat no more. At this point of course one could still have lost a leg and maybe life. Calm movements, and the sharks too will remain calm.

I don't understand why Ukraine doesn't prioritize attacking Russian air defenses around the Kerch bridge. That's the one location where Ukraine knows that the air defenses exist. Also, if Ukraine destroys the air defenses around the Kerch bridge, then Russia will move other air defense platforms away from other areas in Ukraine, in order to shore up the Kerch bridge air defenses. In effect, Ukraine can attack all of the Russian air defenses by focusing its efforts in the one limited area around the Kerch bridge.

The video might be informative if it weren't for the annoying background music. It's superfluous.
