Why use an L bracket on a camera? - Three Legged Thing QR11

Why use an L bracket on a camera? Well, there is a good reason for this. In this video I show you the Three Legged Thing QR11 L Bracket, how to use it and show you why it’s a great little device to have and how it can very easily allow you switch from landscape to portrait mode quickly and easily and with minimal adjustments to your composition.
Additionally, I show you how you can use it with a shutter release cable. The Three Legged Thing QR11 is a great universal L Bracket that fits many cameras.
I also talk about the difference between the Arca Swiss type plates that the QR11 is made for, and also the one you will need if you also have Manfrotto tripod heads like I do.

All you have to do is mount the manfrotto plate under the arca Swiss L bracket. Then all you need is an arca swiss plate on the camera.

Yes that is one option. Or you can buy the special Manfrotto L bracket.

How do you connect your camera strap with the L bracket?

The L bracket doesn't cover the hooks for the strap, so you can connect a strap as usual.

Now are those the pictures directly from the camera using the polarization and ND filter?

If you mean did I shoot in Jpeg, then no. I always shoot in RAW then process the image in Adobe Camera RAW.

Does the JPG look like that in camera and you fix the RAW to look like JPG?

Lovely photos, but if you are taking images as you did so the camera is staying on the tripod, why not just put the L bracket on the grip side? Yes, if you're hoping for some opportune wildlife, it would be best the way you had. It was not necessary for these images done as an informative video.

Yes you can, but it obstructs the battery door, so if you need to change batteries you need to loosen off the bracket. I prefer to do it this way, and also wanted to show others how you can do it if you have a camera with the shutter release socket on the side. Plus, when switching from landscape to portrait I prefer to use the grip side to ensure I get a good hold of the camera and can switch positions quickly without the risk of the camera slipping out of my hands!
