The best reason to buy and drive an older vehicle is the lack of nanny/surveillance tech.

In February of this year I bought the last year of the naturally aspirated 4 Runner! I got the TRDPro. Love it so much! So much character. Its a tank! I call it the General! Did a break in oil change at 1000 miles. I will be doing one more oil change and analysis at 5000mi and oil changes every 5000 mi thereafter. This ones a keeper. Heck, its already worth more than when I bought it. I think the 6th gen will not be reliable in the long run. Its now my "happy place" as I cruise on down the road . I heard there are literally no more new 24's at dealerships

If I were buying a hybrid it would be either a Toyota or Honda they've been doing it the longest some models cost more to maintain after they're discontinued for a number of years examples include Mercury Grand Marquis retired in Jan 2011 the first panther platform triplet to be discontinued followed by the Lincoln Town Car 8/28/2011 and Ford Crown Victoria on Sept 15th 2011 or say you found a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible though that was only produced from 1973-1975 and only 23,000 were built less than 5% of total Caprice volume

Best to buy a new vehicle with warranty and lower interest rate. You can buy someone else's squalor cheap but the time and cost at the repair shop kills the advantage with their parts and labor increases. I was getting gutted owning a 2005 Tacoma. That's right - an old Toyota kept me in the repair shop and it was miserable.
@ECPPКүн бұрын
Yes I agree, it’s not the only answer, but we have to be more dynamic in our approach and start thinking outside the box. Sometimes it makes sense to buy new, but only quality brands with a better reputation and incentives to buy. Other times slightly used is and other times it’s a beater .

I’m no expert but look at the winter you are in LOL I like a bigger engine just because of winter. I gave my son a CRV 2018 with 30,000 Ks on it and -40 in Canada the 4 baggers don’t keep you warm. The Honda starts all the time but I think it’s cold when I take it for a boot around. Sorry my son has absolutely zero car skills. Actually you should do a show on that. The young adult's these days aren’t that great at doing car work. No wonder the prices are going through the roof. They got the young generation with lack of knowledge or know how.
