There are three-wheel arrangements for locomotives, not two. BoBo, CoCo and Do - Do. Do - Do consists of 8 axles and 16 wheels in total, 4 axles 8 wheels in front, and 4 axles 8 wheels in the back. It's rare worldwide but it's still used in heavy hauling North American freight trains.

I find WAG 11 a powerful design, yet its too long in 2(Co-Co) configuration.....it would have been nicer if the axle configuration would have been Co-Co-Co in a Jacobs bogie arrangement (Co+Co+Co) with 9 3-phase AC motors.

Sir, wag 12 ka weight or tractive effort info sahi nahi ha....keu ki weight 180*2 ya 360t hone se Axle load 45t hoga(wag 12 ka total 8 axle), ye possible nahi ha keu ki present Indian railways me highest 22.5t axle load permissible hai, total weight 90*2 180t, aur tractive effort total 750kN hai not each unit.

No, WAP 4, 5 and 7 cannot be used for freight trains at all. But it mainly depends on the gear ratio of the locomotives that whether it is used for passenger or freight trains. Thank u.

Sir why all facility is giving to good trains at all,because we have so many good locomotives like WDM3.WDM3A,WDM7,WDG4,WDG4B,WDG4D,WDG5,WAG5 series,WAG7 series and WAG9 series and now all new 3 twins section locomotives are coming like WAGC3,WAG11 and WAG12.Sir but for passangers trains we have very less locomotives at all like WDM3,WDM3A,WDM7,WAM4 series,WAP4 series,WAP5 series and WAP7 series.if WCAM3 is converted on WAP8 and WCAG1 converted on WAP9 then it is ok for passangers trains.

Two WAG 9 means four cabins, four pantographs, WAG 11 is with single panto, single cabin hence cost effective.... WAG 9 /WAG 11is versatile in ghat section but WAG 12 is not suitable in ghat, with equal loads. WAG 12 has limited locosheds where it can be maintained... This is not problem with WAG 9. I hope matter is much clear to you. These locos are specific to geography of area.
