The hidden MMR system is why I no longer play ranked solo. Me and my friends are all silver...except our lobbies are drastically different. While some of them are getting matched with Iron and Bronze...I'm getting matched with Plat/Golds in every game. Out of the 5 silvers I know...only 1 of them actually gets put into mostly silver lobbies. I guess I could make a smurf account that never queues with friends and that would probably fix the problem...but still...until I hear news that being in Silver means you only queue with other silver players...I don't see a point in grinding to a rank in which the game already thinks I'm at...but artificially lowers the rank of me. Hidden MMR is stupid.

When I don't win, and see I'm the only silver in the Gold/Plat lobby, I feel frustrated. I just feel like if the game ranks me as Silver but thinks I'm Gold/Plat...just give me Silver lobbies until I'm Gold/Plat. It shouldn't take that long if I'm Team/Match MVP every round? But throwing me into a Plat lobby and making me middle of the pack in a game I feel like I don't have any control over...just feels wrong. I dont wanna play when some phoenix burns us down when we try to defuse the spike just to ruin other's game. I today went into ranked and got queued with some pretty decent guys, except for the one instapick chamber, who on the first half wasn't complaining because we where winning, but when it was our turn to attack, he started to lurk every round and complain that we weren't commititng to site, he was the first one to die, every, single, round, we went 10-12 at the end, loosing, and he decided to just throw the game to the trash, he took the spike and went AFK on last round, I tried my best and got my self into a 1v4 situation, managed somehow to kill 2 until the other two poped a KAYO flash and double picked me, and well, we ofcourse lost. The worst part is that no one ever complaint about him lurking and dying alone every round, wiffing all his shots, he had 0% hs at the end, not a single headshot in 22 rounds he played, or being on bottom frag, but he just started to complain about US who where trying to carry him, and he still had the audacity to complain about his team. This really gets on my nerves, because wehn your carrying top fragger that does everything by his own to try to win the match complains is understandable to some extent, his team is just making him lose, but when you are the bottom frag, a free kill for the enemy team, who gives 0 info and has 0 impact on the game, complaining is the lowest thing you can do, like first fix your game then try to be on top and then you might be allowed to complain. Oh, and never slur please, positive things only, I have one thing I always do, when we win I always, always say "Well done team" or "Very Nice team", to keep up morale, and when we do or someone does something bad I say "No problem, focus on next round", to try to make people not fall into the deep hole of autoblaming and low ego, because morale is really important too. For the ones who read, thanks, and for those who didn't, understandable have a great day.

Ive been saying that val needs to add "behavior based" matchmaking for YEARS. If a player is consistently reported for being toxic they should literally only be queued with people with low ratings and if you're chill or actually really nice then a praise feature could be so great too, nice players q with other nice players. After reaching my highest rank two years ago (Ascendant) I came back a few months ago. The problem: I was ranked in Silver 3 after the unranked matches. I had to play against Plats, Diamonds and even Ascendants during these ranking games! Silver-Gold-Plat ranks are a mess with lots of smurfs, boosted players and no communication and teamplay at all. Since I'm a controller sentinel main half of my kit was useless when the team is not playing around it but just pushes every round and dies within 5 seconds. Once I reached Diamond again I hoped that it would become better. Riot said okay, you are Diamond III now. We still let you play with/against Plats and even Golds at this point? So for every win I get 15-18 RR and for every defeat I lose between 20-25 RR. I was back to 1 more victory needed to reach Ascendant many times by now and then a losing streak brings me almost back to Dia2. So frustrating and unfair!

Who has the better smurf. It's just way worse now because the majority of people left playing the game are sweats, and they are destroying the ability for Valorant to attract new players.

It’s not that they’re sweats, no one can get out of low elo right now and the ascendants can’t get back to imo. So everyone is stuck and no one is moving which is pushing the skill ceiling way up and compacting more skilled players lower than they should be. Most of the time the two players at the bottom of the scoreboard aren’t ready to be in the elo they are in when typically they’d be fine but you’ve got people like me who hit plat back in episode 5 who are now silver 1 because of multiple resets. And I have to push back out of bronze just to get back to silver. I shouldn’t be anywhere near these players but based on resets and my recent performances the system thinks I’m in the correct rank. And If you have tracker you see this consistently where silver lobbies now are just gold and plat lobbies with players that haven’t made it back. But I can assure you that they’re just hard stuck and it’s making for the most intense games even in low elo. And that’s assuming your bottom fragger isn’t bronze 1 or iron 3 and just barely making the mmr check. I’ve been playing unrated lately just to chill a bit but I still wanted to play and I’m getting the same matches in unrated meaning it’s a player base issue. The only way to fix it at least temporarily is to add a rank under iron and another rank between silver and ascendant. Because right now the lobbies are just too varied skill wise to sustain a competitive environment.

yeah valo matchmaking adapts to your games to keep ur win % below 60% and above 40%, trollers are identified by the game and used against you to lose, as cheaters, toxic people etc etc.. In fact a game that is easily winnable is always paired with teammates that are not complete garbage but also with very strange aim boost and peeking advantage, up to 3x better score than their average even if they still play like shit in that game and always against trollers and toxic people waiting to brutally lose. Many games are programmed to be a 100% loss, the game is expecting you to be a consistent top fragger with high k/d in every situation

This is nothing compared to what I've faced. In my opinion, breach should be banned, bc his kit is full of grief abilities. Flash, concuss, damage, and a concuss+damage ult. In game a few weeks ago, I had an ally breach doing all these things, and also typed our locations in all chat. He even picked up the spike on attack and didn't ever plant. We lost 13-2, bc he didn't let us surrender either. I've seen breaches sabotages thrice now, twice on my team and, luckily, on from the enemy's side.

Love being queued against silvers and golds when i myself cannot get past iron 3 due to that exact issue. Seriously, how is a team with two silvers being matched against a team with two irons and the rest still unranked ??? and why am i only going up against those higher rank players and never in a lobby with them ? I genuinely do not understand how this happens unless i am the unlucky bastard that is being repeatedly selected to fight someone back out of 5 game loss streak...

Had a teammate in my immortal lobby malding since round 2, griefed on purpose afterwards, and when I flamed him I ended up being comms banned. Yup nice one riot, flaming an intentional griefer is inappropriate but griefing other people's game is totally acceptable.

I’ve been stuck in gold 2 for 3 months I’m not joking! I solo queue which it’s definitely the problem but also there’s toxic players that mentally puts me down with negativity which causes me to be muted for the entire game or there’s seriously terrible match making issues. I’ve been paired up with bronze sometimes even multiple bronze when I go against platinums or higher than silver 3 which makes me believe if you’re not stacking 5 you’ll be stuck on the rank unless miracle happens to you.

Honestly though, if everyone has the ability to reach through the screen to punch someone in the face or strangle them, these toxic players, especially the Sage from the last game, will think twice about throwing. Like, why are you wasting your time just to ruin the game for others? Dude got the "If I can't enjoy the game, then noone can" mentality.

As someone that’s been in both lobbies I can tell you that ascendant and immortal is 10x worse because you can’t have bad games in ascendant or immortal as you’re high rank and it’s expected from you

After peaking immo 3 i quit n this was i think 1.5 / 2 years ago, theres very few games where u get nice teammates that actually give good coms n don't yell at u within 2 rounds Also skins r hella overpriced, for an item that u cant even sell or trade the price is ridiculous Also matchups are completely bullshit, it's as if you need to carry almost every game or u don't win (if u solo queue) - based on my experiences

I love shooters. like its just satisfying to play, improve and to see oneself and others learn. ofc its the best when you win and all, but there is always something to learn (especially if ure losing cuz they're just better) it doesn't feel good to lose ofc, but if u give up you'll just keep losing. But one thing that is the main realson why i NEVER play comp and only casual games, is the toxicity. Winning or losing, someone will find SOMETHING to blame and get mad about (dos NOT help if ure a girl) ppl really forget how team mentality can effect gameplay. i get super shaky and sad when someone gets aggressive, so i cant play well.... yes, i could mute everyone, but i wanna be a team player and in imo it takes the fun out of playing a team based game. (its ok to do tho just not my solution)

I got stuck in bronze 3 due to computer issues. Why did I play ranked? Idk was kinda dumb to do with 30FPS but the people in bronze are terrible. Its always the enemy team with the upper hand for some reason and my team always has an issue. Either someone is doing terrible and throwing or someone disconnects.
