The short answer is: She did not want to become Jayce.

She also probably saw herself in isha. When isha looked at her, she saw an angry girl with hatred towards an enforcer. Which was exactly the way vi looked at the enforcers on the bridge when she was a kid. In that moment, she remembered and wanted to stop herself from becoming what she had always hated.

I don't think Vi was that deep on the thought about Isha being able to save Jinx. In that moment her thoughts were more like you said about the cycle of violence. It's the first time we see Vi stoping "punch first and ask later". Isha is the "goggles" Jinx call 's them in the end. They are meant to make everyone see "clearly" all that's happening and why the fight has to be different than only revenge and more violence. The hope they bring reminds the others of "better" times. When they weren't in war declared. When Zaun were safer and thriving despite the political complications. Back to Vi in the scene, she saw the cicle, realise were hate and revenge brought her (to almost kill the person she loves the most). And i think she is remembering how it all started basically with her wanting to revenge her parent's death, that gets her familly killed, she hurted Powder who made a innocent mistake (and by doing that, Vi created Jinx), got arrested, had choose violence again and again. Cait is at the verge of choosing wrong in that moment, and she knows Cait is a good person, with a good heart, and knows that is not the path she would like to cross, because it wont bring a stop to her pain and will only continuing the cycle. So Vi trying to stop Cait, isn't about only Jinx, is about all of them, the cycle of violence and trying to help Cait see the wrong in what she was about to commit. (sorry if my english isn't perfect, it's not my first language).

All Vi had to do is hang onto Jinx's leg, while Jinx was still on the altar with Isha. They could have arrested Jinx right there. Remember, when Vi was about to punch Jinx on the altar, Caitlyn lowered her gun because the suspect was in custody. Jinx turned Isha into a child soldier, and ultimately a suicide bomber.

She didn't do it intentionally. Jinx thought she was being a better sister than Vi and she realised too late she was raising a mini-me.

@@Itisoverthere-rwit was because of Isha that jinx finally understood what it’s like being the older sibling. How much love and pressure vi felt. And in a way Isha saved whatever left there was of jinx which unfortunately led to Isha doing what she did.

@@treehouse-f4d Isha was mimicking Jinx and her lack of self preservation. This is the tragedy of their relationship. Jinx was trying to be the cool big sister, she definitely gave Isha the happiest memories of her short life and thanks to Isha her fragile mental state showed great improvement. At the same time she made Isha a mini-Jinx and that got her killed. Isha didn't need to sacrifice herself for Jinx but she had already seen Jinx doing the same in Stillwater and she figured that it was the right thing to do. I really wish there was a scene dealing with it because Jinx should understand what happened with the girl and she would definitely blame herself. Hell, the suicide attempt clearly demonstrated that.

I thought it was cause she clearly saw the relationship jinx has with this child and thinks there might still be good in jinx, plus as Vi said Isha is just a child

Short answer: because Isha is nothing but a plot device throughout her entire run in the season. 🤷🏻♀️

@mackingcheese not at all. She's exactly what a bad-crafted and very obvious plot device is.
