The video misses out on an important fact... Indians not allowed to have dual citizenship or two passports... They have to give up Indian citizenship.. Another important point missed is that having some strong visas like US, UK and Schengen makes your passport stronger and allows visa free access to many countries.

Nah not even “be rich”. The clickbait rich title isn’t even relevant. I’m not a millionaire and I could wake up today and go live in London for half a year. Singaporean with a Singapore passport here. I guess maybe the point was buying dual citizenship but that’s not really linked to Elon Musk etc… The American passport is powerful enough on its own, and if he tried to get access to an even more powerful passport like Singapore or Japan, he couldn’t because those countries don’t usually allow dual citizenship.

Coming from a weak passport country (Angola) and dating a strong passport holder (Australian) has been a bit difficult when it comes to travel, I need a visa to go everywhere but my girlfriend barely needs it, we decided to move to Europe because it’s easier to move around here but we still facing some issues when it comes to go out of the Schengen area.

Dual citizenship also means double taxation, but if you're rich enough to take advantage of tax loopholes it doesn't make a big difference.
@gteixeira Жыл бұрын
Depends on the citizenship. As far as I know, only US citizens are taxed by citizenship, rather by residence.
@mvalthegamer2450 Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't. Except for US and Eritrea, no other country charges by citizenship. In fact, many citizenships are used exclusively for tax breaks
@eliehalimi Жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. I'm a dual national and while I do have to declare my income in both countries (and that includes the US), I only pay taxes in my country of residence. @maniesh

@@hrishiksh No I think it's applicable if you prove that your parents or grandparents or forefathers lived when the portuguese ruled goa. The ones who lived during that time can apply for a portuguese citizenship and you will be eligible after they become citizens and if those people are already dead then you can't do anything

But why? How does India benefit from giving multiple nationalities to Indian citizens? Do not confuse selfish benefit to diaspora with benefit to India.

@@Kids11111 It’s not about the benefit for India, it’s about the personal benefit. An average individual with Portuguese nationality would have better opportunities for a comfortable life than that of an average individual with Indian nationality.
