Why VYL-01 WON'T Win Over Nail Polish Enthusiasts | Swatch & Review

Today I'm swatching & reviewing the VYL-01 Nail Paint Pens and sharing my 4 reasons as to why I do not believe this is a product that will receive any actual support from the nail polish community. I think nail paint pen makers have a lot of homework to do before their products ever gain actual traction and a community of supporters, most of which may probably come from the nail polish community.

To be fair, it doesnt look like they're targeting nail polish enthusiasts. I really like mine and will most likley purchase again- had it for 5 months and its still going strong. ⚡⚡⚡

The "rubbery" base coat is simply just not very compatible with VYL-01's water based composition. Iused an opi base and it worked perfectly fine with the matte black. With a Personally I like it because I'm a mechanic and a gotta patch my nails like all the time lol. I very very much think the target audience is more along the lines of on-the-go musicians like myself and concert/club goers? Definitely not perfect, but it's exactly what I need for being so busy!

Yeah, unfortunately the rubber base is not a good match. It's just that regular black nail polish is compatible with any base coat and also much more affordable, so I don't find this product to be superior or even a replacement for it. I can see your point regarding the target audience. The product has that vibe, for sure. I also work with my hands a lot, gardening, working with horses & maintaining a horse barn and my black (or any color) nail polish has withstood tremendously well through all my manual labor but I'm genuinely glad this product is working out well for you! :D

Vanilla Bean & Mineralized are like "Gang's all here" 😂 My wife saw this product before i did & asked if i was interested in it & i immediately said absolutely not. 😂

If I wanted to paint my nails with a Sharpie, I would just paint my nails with a Sharpie.

Big fat no. The first polish pens I remember were in the 80s. I’m that old. Either from Avon or Revlon, and they were fair, but the concept always fails. They dry up and we forget about them.
