CHUCK121100 Yeah but Mark Walburger is ranking in millions of dollars for the explosion to the face. And, when you go into a situation with live weaponry, no matter what it is, you better expect the worst and pray for the best. He signed up for that shit. You're filming a hyper realistic movie on actual events of warfare. Whereas Luttrel wasn't banking shit when he was being attacked by swarms of enemy gunfire, and I don't see him whining. I actually like Mark, but no matter what anyone says, he WAS being a bit of a fucking pussy. That's all I'm saying. You can tell everyone else in this video thought it too, but didn't want to speak ill of him and respectful. Unlike he was being when made those comments.

If you reply to this comment you'll ask how do I know it truly happened but here's my back up how did he make it up where he pin pointed two of his dead friends axe was a little bit more miles but understandable since he didn't know where he was when he woke up after being knocked out, so for you to criticize this man is horrible, I respect our military and these men die for you so the least you could do is listen to their story and not try to call it lies.

I'm having a good laugh at all of the people commenting how "if a mortar went off near your face you'd have no face left, bro". They aren't talking about military mortars that are firing rockets. They are talking about special effects compressed air mortars. They are tubes that are filled with debris, usually small sticks, dirt and foam pieces painted to look like rocks. When triggered a blast of highly compressed air blows all of the debris out of the tube or "mortar". They use this to simulate impact explosions, i.e. when an RPG would hit the ground or a wall. That kind of impact sends a bunch of debris flying. Watch any action movie and you will see this being used. So what happened to Mark Wahlberg was a compressed air cannon full of dirt and other debris was shot off at his face.

I can’t believe the amount of “keyboard warriors” are commenting. Funny thing is most of them probably aren’t even servicemen. It’s just wrong that a director would sacrifice safety for realism. I know it’s not uncommon for directors to mislead actors to get a more realistic reaction. But no actor deserves to get hurt because of that. Walberg isn’t in the military. He didn’t sign up to put his safety at risk. He has every right to get upset.

Anyone who has read the book or been fortunate enough as i was to see Marcus tell what happen in person and in much greater detail than even the book knows these men are hard as fucking nails... When I read the story about "Lone Survivor" and how forces were discovered by a young man. I remembered how almost the exact same thing happened to an SAS insertion team in Iraq. The team must decided what to do about this discovery. How coincidental that it also happened in Afghanistan. The story is related in the film "Bravo 2 Zero". The SAS team was B Squadron 22 SAS

Patriot Eagle, I can feel your angst brother. I have found most Hollywood "firefights" to be akin to what we now see in Call of Duty and Battlefield video games. My son is a big time CoD player and intends to keep the family tradition of having a Robinson fight in every war the US has been involved in all the way back to the Spanish American War in Cuba around the turn of the 20th century. I am divorced from his mother and one of the things we do together is play video games (I am in Oregon he is in California) and converse through XBOX Live. I have long told my son that what you see I n Hollywood and video games is NOTHING close to the real thing and in real life there are NO re-spawns. My son is in awe of me being a combat veteran (I am a disabled veteran medically retired from the Army) and asks if I was scared. Of course I was scared, but the reality is, MOST firefights (at least the ones I was involved in) were conducted at distances of 200 to 500 meters with one or two at 40 to 50 meters. I told him those firefights were not as exciting as Hollywood makes them to be, some would consider them boring (obviously not us but you get the idea) I tell him the things you see in video games are from folks (kids) who all they have at stake is a re-spawn and hence why these games are so aggressive. I said for the most part, people in combat are NOT going to make these kamikaze charges and whatnot because well simply put, you are gonna die or get your brothers killed if you do shit like that. Same with Hollywood movies. Nevertheless, I did tell him that some of our Marine Corps brothers (I am an Army puke) do get into CQB situations with house to house and room to room fighting. Regardless, things are different when lives are on the line and the bullets are real. Yet most real world firefights would probably bore our generation of video gamers. With that, I will go see Lone Survivor and I think you should too Patriot Eagle, of course Hollywood will take their liberty, but from what I have been told by those who have seen it, they take great pains for authenticity and well I will let you know once I have seen it.

Arsene Knows Best So here we have a fellow from the UK explaining how we as American citizens are blind brainwashed and stupid to see that OUR government is a danger to us. Well my friend, we certainly have issues with OUR government. To that I MUST concur. Yet the thing is this, we as citizens are in fact a danger to our government as well. Well what I mean is if our government ever decides to go tyrannical, we will NOT go quietly into the night! Why? Because as American citizens we have our Constitution as well as OUR Bill of rights amendments 1 through 10. Our 2nd amendment right to bear arms is something we take very seriously. Should OUR government try to get crazy it will be a blood bath. Funny that a lad from the UK tells us our government is a danger to us. If I remember correctly, we used to be subjects under British rule. We decided we did NOT want to continue to be British subjects and as such we gave the British Monarchy and the British Army and the Royal Navy an EPIC ass whoopin' and we fought for and won OUR independence. Now we are Allies, why the need for so much trash talking my friend? Our government a danger to us? Funny thing is we will NOT allow our government to take away OUR right to bear arms, can you being a British subject claim the same? Of course you can't because the UK has banned almost all subjects from owning a firearm. Who's government is more of a threat? The British government can do what they will to their subjects, knowing full well you all are unarmed

I know there is a lot of good people but the real root of a war is indirectly or directly the human itself, i just don't like how people blame a country for that, USA has a lot of power but if you see the big picture you will realize it was going to be USA or the next big world power country the one that would get blamed by everything.

Mr. Robinson I thank you for your service Sir. My father is an ARMY Ranger out of the 82nd Airborne division (Retired now) but non the less once a Ranger always a Ranger. I am very proud of my father and everything he's accomplished in his service days. I plan on joining the ARMY and going to Ranger school myself. My dad doesnt want me to but he respects my decision and backs me 110%. Most Veterans that I know that have seen combat first hand have emerged with some sort of trauma (PTSD or brain injuries) even my dad, if a plane flies overhead low, any sudden unexpected loud noise's, gunshot's ect. ect. sends him into flashbacks and in HIS MIND he's back in Grenada, Panama, Or Somalia. Most people who havent seen it or know what to expect thinks it's funny. I dont think anybody who's served this country should have to live with a lifetime full of health problem's, but unfortunately thats usually the case at hand. I take my father to most of his appointments at the V.A so I see alot of combat vets. My dad taught me at a young age that there's up's and down's with everything. That just where you as a human being have to weight out the options, and think about what it's worth to you. Is it worth your health, body, or life than just go from there, I respect your son's decision to enlist not many from my generation wants to join (im 21). I plan to serve my country and follow in my father footstep's (he's my own personal hero). I dont know why, Just figured i'd comment... So once again, Thank you for your service Mr. Robinson:)

Well I can understand his frustration I for one feel that the way he reacted was extremely immature. I mean for god sakes man he was acting in an action movie things like that are bound to happen and even if it was a mistake you do not go around wrecking the set. This is just like when Christian Bale went on that stupid little tirade during Terminator Salvation filming.
@aquamann8810 жыл бұрын
I'd be totally pissed off if something blew up in my face & damn near blinded me. That isn't in the job description of anyone except maybe a soldier. So Mark had every right to be totally pissed off about it.
@ultrajd10 жыл бұрын
aquamann88 that may be true in some ways but still he was acting in an action movie therefore you are expected to take a few smacks. Now yes considering the fact that nearly blinded him I can understand being upset brides that doesn't change the fact that the way he reacted was extremely immature several actors have done stuff like this. It's also said that during the filming of the first Starship Troopers film Jake Busey took a few bursts from the blank ammunition that was being used from another character who is a little too close to him. Event yelled cut and got the director Paul Verhoeven very upset. This is why I don't like a lot of actors. They may play interesting characters but 9 times out of 10 they seem like their real life personalities are just flat out horrible. One of the few actors that I've actually met physically and felt like a really nice person was Tom Hanks.
@javbail968310 жыл бұрын
***** I would have reacted angry if I was him also. As a soldier we are used to these things so it is normal for us, but for an actor... what do you need to be an actor? presence, your appearance. If there was a chance his vision and face were damaged how could he do acting again. his career could be over. that's why he reacted like that. Christian Bale was just being a diva. totally different scenarios.
@ultrajd10 жыл бұрын
mar ines well it is true that the mix-up could have easily cost him his vision I still think that ripping up the set was not the right course of action down may be knocking one or two things over and then going off in the woods trailer that's fine you know I would have done the same thing if I were in the circumstance. But still I find his reaction that he told us about to be very immature.
@T4keTheShot9 жыл бұрын
It is not immature at all. When you are working with explosions like this people's lives are at stake if you do not take the right precautions. He should go off on them so that they realise how serious this is and they won't do it again.

Apparently the stuntmen (more than one) had broken ribs and a collapsed lung and other injuries. For those who say nobody would make that jump, they are probably right (with regard to most conventional forces fighting each other and PRIOR to engaging and fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda) What I mean is, conventional forces subscribe to the concept of POW treatment from the Geneva Convention. If we were fighting the Chinese, the Russians or any other "Country" I think most of us would have not jumped and surrendered. Yet Al Qaeda and the Taliban are NOT countries and do not subscribe to the tenets of the Geneva Convention. As a former member of an Infantry LRSD, we would be vulnerable as those SEALs were. The difference is we operate with 6 member squads. I don't know if I would have jumped. However the difference is night and day between what I did and these SEAL's did. We were fighting the Iraqi military and NOT terrorist factions. Yet these brave SEAL's absolutely knew that if they surrendered they would almost certainly have been shown on Al Jazeera being beheaded with a fucking butcher knife. I tell you what, I will unequivocally eat a bullet or dive head first off of a cliff rather than go through such a brutal painful death from a butcher knife. I have seen some of those horrific videos )Taliban/Al Qaeda but probably the most horrific thing I ever say was when Chechen rebels lined up 7 or 8 Russian soldiers and laid them on the ground and systematically went down the line beheading each with a knife . There was one kid who fought as they began to cut his head off, he was able to get up throw a few punches and he ran. Of course he was immediately shot with an AK but at least for him he went quickly. So for those who question why a SEAL would make a jump like that, that should make it pretty clear. It isn't heroism that makes someone do that it is a survival instinct (MAKE NO MISTAKE ALL THE SEAL's ARE HEROES)
