In this video, we showcase the incredible performance of the Banksbars system during a 22-day observation period. Starting with a 5-frame NUC, the hive has rapidly expanded, demonstrating how Banksbars optimize honey production and hive management.
Key Highlights from the Video:
Banksbars Efficiency:
In just 22 days, bees have built continuous brood patterns across multiple frames, accelerating hive growth.
The hive is already producing significant amounts of nectar and honey, with five frames fully drawn and active.
Hive Management Innovations:
The queen was relocated to the top Banksbars section and separated using a queen excluder to focus efforts on comb building.
The configuration was inverted to ensure optimal use of hive space and entrance accessibility.
Growth and Productivity:
The hive has outpaced traditional methods, achieving nearly double the working area in a fraction of the time.
Brood frames are filled with eggs and larva, promising exponential population growth.
Real-World Validation:
The system’s performance is validated by independent beekeepers like JC’s Bees and suppliers such as Jeff McCormick.
Particularly effective in regions like New England, the Banksbars system supports efficient winter hive management.
Why Banksbars?
Traditional hives often require a year to see significant yields. Banksbars cut this time dramatically, producing honey the same year.
Simplified management: With just 10 frames to manage, the system reduces labor while maximizing output.

Yes you should be very happy with your hive after just 22 days from install time. Those Bee Barn frame size and dimensions help. I am currious what were the red and yellow (plastic?) things on the frames?

The airport noise at first sounded almost like an Osprey but was echoed with a pitch shift down. Reminds me of the Medical Choppers in town with near mil spec blades too. I live near an airport too so some I can pick out without seeing first. The military props are normally lower pitched because they go with wider and heavier blades than the civilian equivalents. With Helicopters that are made for both it is the giveaway unless it is an emergency service like the medical ones I mentioned. The bigger blades can take some damage and maintain lift but do take more gas to turn. BTW Yeager next to Charleston, WV is a rare dual use airport with the 130th Airlift Group and some C130's based there. The base also services a lot of Navy aircraft and is a site that the Air Force One crews like to train at. It can handle the 747 but it is too short for them to use with the POTUS aboard. He uses a smaller AF1 for Yeager visits. Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump have all visited in my memory. Bush tended to take a trip to walker Machinery (CAT dealer) on his that suggest some contract work for a bunker like the Greenbrier or Mount Weather.
