I have a deposit on a Rav4 XSE hybrid, but this Tucson hybrid does look interesting. Hyundai is offering 0% financing with no payment due for 90 days. That's a very attractive offer. Some things to consider: the Rav4 hybrid gets better fuel economy than the Tucson. 41/38 vs 35/35. That can be significant if you do lots of city driving. The Tucson's engine uses GDI technology and has a turbocharger. These could increase maintenance cost in the future. However, Hyundai offers a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, which is hard to beat. One last thing: I may have to wait 3 months before my Rav4 hybrid is ready. The 2025 Tucson is already on the dealership lots. Update...The Tucson hybrid does not have a spare tire. Since I plan on camping and driving on mountain roads this is a deal breaker for me.

@@stewartantony8225 The hybrid does not have a spare, because the battery takes up some of that space. The ICE Tucson does have a spare.

The hybrid Hyundai system is very different to the Honda and Toyota systems in that they have a external rubber belt driven starter generator to start the petrol engine and going by how many times this happens go to be a reliability concern.

not true. it's a real hybrid. you're thinking about the rav4 prime model for which the Tucson has a PHEV rival

@@rohitnijhawan5281 i sad so because mostly they are mild , phevs are not commen. Phev’s are more expensive that if compare the price difference with mild and phev, its not smart to buy phev. Because calculate and compare with how many years it takes . İ bought sportage mild , planning to pass rav4 , rav4 goes electric up to 80 km spead and do not need charge. Perfect car except for poor mileage compared with CRV-hybrid and RAV4 despite being smaller and slower. But I think price compensates
@michaelericson56374 ай бұрын
The hybrid combined is 38 compared to the 40 of the rav4. Wouldn’t call that poor mileage.
@PilipinasKongMahal0214 ай бұрын
@@michaelericson5637 i agree. But considering that rav4 is an old hybrid tech already for more than 5 years, and yet is outmatching tucson with better mileage and is faster, more reliable also to add. The good thing is that hyundai used AT rather than DCT. But still..
@michaelericson56374 ай бұрын
@@PilipinasKongMahal021 I don’t think anyone would argue that if your goal is reliability choose Toyota. However, the exterior styling, and interior amenities and design imop blow the rav4 out of the water especially at comparable prices. A CVT is absolutely the way to go for fuel efficiency, but as a previous owner of a Prius, the drone gets old quick. I’ll gladly take a 6 spd at, and variable regenerative braking. I did wish it came with a 7 for high way cruising so 1/2 weren’t so tall to make it feel peppier.
