@@megaelitegaming4543 Yep I used to be a greeter and they have to check receipt until they get receipt checker. The one I used to work for, still want to keep their greeters. But it's sad that people used get angry at me for checking their receipt when I have to or else I get fired or get write up. Sadly I still get fired for having building up stress from the a-hole customers, a-hole managers and supervisors, and not have much to do to release stress. They keep forgetting my breaks and other greeters and cashiers. So Walmart is not a great place to work at.

@@kuddlykraken2157 in the UK Costco isn't as prevalent as in the USA, so the store is busy all the time and with only 1/2 receipt checkers, there's now way to efficiently check 20+ people's monthly shopping (people only go once In a while here) of around 20 items without causing massive queues so I guess it still works as a deterant because losing a £40 membership and getting a lifetime ban isn't worth it.

I've only ever met one cool clerk at Walmart. This was yesterday. My mom took me to Walmart to buy stuff, but she also went to get me a game, even though i tried to tell her Walmart is legit the worst place to buy video games (plus there's a GameStop literally a minute away from the Walmart) So we get to the video game aisle and there was this young lady who also liked video games, we ended up talking about the Sims. She was pretty cool, we still ended up going to the GameStop and i got Pokemon Sun.

I work at wallmart. Have for about a year now. Im 18 fresh out of high school so i guess "life" hasn't destroyed me yet. But i watched your video about my place of work and, from an insider perspective. Agree with you for the most part. Most of my coworkers do nothing but complain all day. Mainly about how awful our bosses and the customers treat us. And they really do treat us pretty bad. I always try to keep a positive spin on at work. And i always put my customers before anything else even if they are being rude to me. But our store is unappealing to look at and our uniforms are awful. (I feel like i need to give credit where credit is due though. The vests they force us to wear are given to us fresh off of a sealed package. And i assume they are brand new when given to us. So any disgusting stains or wear and tear you see on a uniform is due to the negligence of the employee not the store).

There are actually a couple of reasons for greeters. One is as you mentioned to make you feel welcome, another is for good publicity for giving employment to disabled workers who can't do much physical labor. The lesser known one that surprised me is that greeters are supposed to make you feel watched to discourage shoplifting.

You are right I live in Canada and nothing bad happened. Let me tell you my friends story. I live near edmonton and one of my friends went to south edmonton and he went to a walmart. He told me it was creepy, empty shelves, security guards and nothing else in sight. I've never had anything that bad happen while in walmart, I guess the only thing that I hate about Canadian walmart is that lego doesn't really get discounted compared to the states which kinda makes me jealous.

South Sioux City Walmart (third location I’ve been to tonight) finally had what I need but in the wrong color. Oh well. It works. What struck me as odd is that they have 0/4 traditional check-outs open, 8/30 self-checkouts closed & a ninth one that is broken with a line of confused customers that disappears when it zigzags into home & garden. Worst rollercoaster line at the worst amusement park in the world, but hey, this was the most positive Walmart experience I’ve had since before the pandemic was unleashed, so, I’m happy with it.

I work at Walmart and I am not being biased but not really any of this is true I am sorry but this company has treated me with nothing but respect and has treated me better than any other company has and the prices compared to a lot of store are very good great value products are as high quality as they can be for their prices Walmart helps you get college degrees we get three breaks the vests are not uncomfortable we are allowed to wear whatever we want now we just have to wear the vest now I do agree customers need to treat us better but that is the only thing true about this video at least for my Walmart and in my again UNBIASED opinion as what I have experienced working for this company

I agree with some stuff you said, I'm a department manager and there are some benefits there but I faced some flaws and problems almost more than once but it all depends which Walmart you work at. Management is a gamble if you're hoping to have competent and helpful ones around you. If not... you're gonna face some who don't see the world the same as you do and think every uncontrollable problem is your fault. Most of the time its management that causes most of the problems and effects some people and sometimes corporate level stuff effects EVERYONE. Like hours being cut when the corporation made tons of money and still cut hours no matter what. Also policies that often don't respect your life emergencies like a wife being pregnant or sometimes even bereavement but recently slowly respected those who have those problems. What's worse that depending what time off you need the managers could deny timeoff for any reason. Like any job managers can be like that but Walmart is a fast business and if you have managers who aren't friendly and they want sales and numbers go up in the store every single day... they could give a rats ass about what you need to take care off outside your job. There is even an occurrence system that determines how management should treat you. If you call out, come late, leave early. It will count up how many times you did it and how management should treat you compared to other people. Some will watch you like a hawk and some will just ignore your requests. If you have 0 occurrences they'll think you are some kind of weird Walmart fanboy and think you can do anything at any time for the store. Like I said it depends on where and who you work for in Walmart. There legitimately good stores out there with great people. But some are stores that follows the process so hard it damages any kind of positivity and corporate's store policies bring out the worst in employees and management. And most managers can handle the pressure and make others feel like shit so they won't have to. It's pretty messed up and effects even some of the good people.

The Walmart I go to has some of the worst employees. From a custodian who can’t “see” an oil spill that could potentially put someone in the hospital and leaves half eaten food on a shelf, to a manager who does nothing when a cashier takes forever because she’s counting each individual item in each package on the conveyor belt. I get that they’re paid peanuts for a thankless job, but it’s a wonder why the customers are that way with the workers.
