I think the Yonko's first mates should have been closer to the Yonko's themselves in terms of power in order to make their defeat seem realistic. A Yonko should not be able to solo their entire crew in my opinion, as it makes said crew seem more like an accessory rather than a crucial component to their empire.

honestly yeah, the yonko first commanders are strong but seem nowhere near the yonko themselves which is reflected in their bounties as the yonko commanders are around 1Bil while the yonko are at 4Bil except for King imo which is closer to 2Bil because of his broke af lunarian abilities

I 100% agree with this. The power difference in one piece is ridiculous. To make it worst, Kaido fought the 9 Scabbards, the 4 supernova and yamato in the same night, defeated luffy multiple times and still lost. How??? The writing was baaaad. And this is way other mangas are most consistent in that aspect. In one piece there are no clear stakes, everything always works out nothing truly is lost and the power ups are infinite.

I really don't care that much for powerscaling but Oda perfectly could have put Kid and Law in their own training arcs during thier imprisonment subplots in act 2 to make the Big Mom defeat feel plausible.

Honestly I don't think kid deserves the 3b bounty. I think law helped carry them and the nine through kaido and big mom then he definitely carried kid for big mom why would his punk Gibson suddenly work? She can take a punch. Atleast law doing a Shockwave through her to damage her made sense.

I think this arc made many fans, who kept defending One Piece as a genius piece of art, look at its glaring flaws that have been around for years. Oda keeps presenting mystery boxes without proper pay off, and many fans now recognized this, even if it's just on a subconscious level.

One thing that might sound minor but I really hated to see end up as a missed opportunity was how in the anime Zoro met his spirit animal which was the White Tiger in episode 909. But he didn’t even try to form a relationship with it and Oda didn’t seem to try making the Tiger an actual character or have real purpose somewhat like Tama’s Tiger or the Mountain Baboon. It didn’t even happen in the manga but I really wish I got to see Zoro riding on top of his new best friend 😭 the Tiger knew one sword style it was toooo perfect!

I just think it would’ve been a nice little subplot of Zoro taming this wild beast. We see Luffy do it ALL the time. Also it would’ve added that extra sauce we needed to affirm that Wano is Zoro’s arch at least aesthetically and *spiritually* ; it being his motherland. I don’t remember if Zoro was getting lost in Wano but if he was, the Tiger could’ve guided him around. We already know Zoro looks just like Ryuma. For all we know that Tiger was a descendant of a royal guard Tiger or something and instinctively recognized Zoro💀

Personally, I’ve had so much fun during this arc. This reminds me a bit about Skypea, when people skipped it and now they are coming back. This is Oda’s story and we are here for the ride. It’s, as you said, merely our own imagination and expectations that fail us, and instead of just enjoying every panel on its own, we are too focused on what’s not in the story instead of what is. It’s was great, it will be better, because that’s just how it works in OP, we are joist getting higher.

Im of the opinion that kaido and big mom survived. And that they will come back with pluton. The reaon, chekovs gun. Franky had the blueprint for a pluton counter. They would not talk anout it if nobody ever uses pluton. And the blueprint was created in case some bad people ever got their hands on it. Good video. I don't want to nitpick or anything but the word "Wille" in German is pronounced like "Villa" in English. Regarding underused characters in Wano, the most painful one for me was X Drake. Before Wano began I was excited specifically about Kaido and X Drake, and the level of focus Capone got in WCI only made my expectations for Drake higher. Nothing came out of X Drake in Wano sadly, but at least he's alive unlike Hawkins so we can still hope to get something out of his character.

I'm one of those who think Big Mom is not dead. I'll die on that. There was just too much plot points circling her that were supposed to come to a head in the future whereas Kaido almost seemed to merely exist to be beaten. Add to that the idea that both BM and her crew seemed to be underperforming in both Wholecake and Wano and I believe Big Brain actually played dumb and let the SH's escape to Wano and let herself be flung from the roof. Why, I don't know. But I always remember the words, BIG MOM HAS A PLAN. And I can't believe Oda left someone like BM unfulfilled like that.

I think Oda didn't show Kaido's and big mom's awakenings because Oda gave momo a model of kaido's fruit and kaido's magma form is to foreshadow momo's awakening(yellow dragon) and also big mom's awakening was not shown because big mom is expected to make a return and show her full strength and power when the time comes

Hawkins and Apoo were completely destroyed in this arc. Hawkins vs Killer should have been a great fight, but Hawkins spoiled his own weakness to his enemy. And Apoo did not even had a fight with anyone but just jumped from place to place, he should have fighted Kidd, the guy he betrayed, or Brook because both are bards. I at least hope he appear later in the series to fight Brook or some other character. There is also not a single mention of the smile problem after Kaidou is defeated, and that is bizarre. With exception of the these things i dont see a problem with this arc, it is just like other arcs so of course the straw hats and allies would defeated the villain's group without many problems. And i really liked King.

I have mixed feelings on Wano. It was good overall but could've been better. Zoro should've gotten more focus in the arc. Frustrating that the Big Mom Pirates didn't really get to participate in the raid. Although that might've been too many characters. Though I didn't get why the Marines just abandoned their plan. Shame about Kaido's character. I personally think that he learned about Joyboy while he was a Rocks Pirate. Rocks dabbled in forbidden subjects, which would've included the Void Century and Joyboy. Both Rocks and Kaido might've tried to become the next Joyboy and create a new world, only to fail. This failure might've led to Kaido's depression, so he decided to start the ultimate war, hoping it would grant him the legendary death he so desired. Speaking of Kaido, I still want to know if he and Big Mom are dead or not.

Haven’t finished it yet, but im past the missed plot points so lemme add this. My BIGGEST missed plot point is the fucking Nidai Kitesu! Bro. Zoro has had the Sandai since CHAPTER 97, ALMOST A THOUSAND FUCKING CHAPTERS LATER he still has that sword. Luffy better have brought it with them on the sunny so when the sandai does break luffy can throw him the nidai or smth.

Kuma was arguably a more important character to this story and we’re only just now learning about who he was. Kaido and Big Mom still have a role to play in the final saga, I’m sure of it. That’s when we’ll learn about what happened in God Valley.

so i think they wano is underwhelming mostly wano is not the strawhats’ story but the scabbards… from punk hazard, to dressrosa to zou. wano is really the story of the scabbards doing what they can to muster up strength and allies to defeat kaido. the climax of their story(and the story as a whole) is all of them on the rooftop fighting jack and kaido. years of built up revenge and tension. whereas in a regular story the climax is the strawhats doing that. wano really does have the strawhats take a backseat until later in the 3rd act where the falling action is that the strawhats take the main stage. and it sucks because for us westerners that should’ve already happened earlier during the climax where the scabbards had the main stage

There were things that could have been better, like going more into Kaido's backstory, but this was a pretty solid arc. In my opinion, the most amazing thing about One Piece is just how consistent it is. The quality never dips too much.

The way Kaido lost is good imo But the way BM lost wasn’t She didn’t use Adv Conq, Adv Arm, Observation, Adv Observation (If Kaido and Kata have it why wouldn’t she have it too) She didn’t use haki whatsoever And Law got too much plot armor He got bullied by Doffy Then matched with Kaido and BM Makes no sense Big Mom without Adv Arm, Adv Conq and Observation Haki VS Law with plot armor and Kidd Wasn’t fair whatsoever

Wano was anything but disappointing. They have gone ALL out with the animation for the entire arc in the anime and there was so much world building in Wano. Gear 5th was just icing on the cake that was Wano. Definitely one of the best arcs in One Piece. IMO CP9 arc was the best in the series and while Kaido vs Luffy was amazing, Lucci vs Luffy is probably the very best fight in OP history.

Kaido was so underwhelming to partially because of his fighting style. It's just swinging clubs and occasionally becoming a big dragon and blowing shit up (loses its impact after the 9th time). He uses wind and lighting like once or twice in the manga and his hybrid form doesn't take advantage of any of his dragon powers besides big fireball. He can make a flaming dragon susanoo for fuck's sake. He has 0 creativity to his arsenal unlike characters like Enel, Crocodile, Caesar, Moria, and Doflamingo. And don't even get me started on the lack of awakening.

Yeah I think it is cope bruh, with so many different plot threads, so many different character mysteries, and so many implied plot points and places to go to before the end of the story. Oda setting it up so they half of the plot lines in wano can only really get fulfilled if we go back to it when we already have so much to do before the end feels like just such a bad decision. To the point where even if Oda is planning on that, I don’t think it will actually happen. And even if they do come back to wano and those plot lines are resolved, it still hurts this massive arc that spent so much time with fluff instead of resolving said plot lines. We really needed long drawn out moments like chopper with the freezing zombies or Sanji peaking in on the women’s bathing rooms, instead of a flashback for kaido??

Eventho there were some fair amount of pay offs like with momo There were a lot of plots left hanging as well And the ones that did got the focus lacked execution, that was prolly the worst thing imo Execution is most important for everything imo, and the build of momo holding/moving onigashima was so great and then we get a small ass panel for it which was overshadowed by Kaido and Luffy's "ultimate" clash which just left doubts I don't mind the "one big punch" comment from oda cuz literally every villain in op is defeated that way and it's not "just" a punch, there was a lot went into those battles, i say that and still can't help but think kaido is one of worst Villains yet. Weather it be his character or his rawness he was disappointing in everyway. Tho one of the biggest reason for wano's BAD ending is film red. How oda rushed it for shanks hype who only came to promote lol The ending felt so underwhelming smh Beast pirates were mid, ulti and queen had atleast some character, while king was just a plot device and who's who just for some lore dump, others are worse. Jack overhated tho he did his thing atleast. Scabbards weren't handled well Focusing on less Intresting stuff for forever like the ice Oni and apoo basically being immortal And like apoo all most of the wano supernovas were handled so bad as well Hawkins and Kidd were done dirty, killer atleast got something, drake was sidelined And Zoro is whole another discussion, tho grim reaper stuff can get excused cuz potential foreshadowing/hints for future. The fights felt short (almost all of em) Fake outs as bad as Pell's The actual "deaths" were... Idek what to say on that. Yamato's character. (Atleast she didn't join lol) And many more issues, list goes on. And if oda can do justice to a whole grandfleet in dressrosa then why can't that be to scabbards and characters lile Hawkins smh Many of the op arcs has high highs and low lows but wanos low are like no other.

Momo didn’t pay off. He began the Ark needing help to protect his people because he was too weak and he ended the Arc with Yamato giving up her dream because he’s too weak to look after his people. And clearly not mature enough for Yamato to tell him her actual reason for staying

As someone who caught up basically at the end of the Kaido fight (1044 was my first weekly chapter) Wano was easily the best arc of the post timeskip for me. While I understand Acts 1&2 might have been unbearable week to week, personally it was some of my favourite stuff in the series because it felt like for the first time in a long time Oda just let us sit in and absorb this setting for a bit. All the little hints and bits of lore during that period was so intriguing. The panels didn't feel too cluttered. It wasn't too connected to the wider world. It was nice, like pre timeskip. The Oden flashback is a core part of the series now, and while admittedly I kinda skimmed through Act 3 to get to the end, rereading certain chapters of that section has been great - peak lore and just generally entertaining. In my opinion the best Strawhat battle since Enies Lobby. I think it's easy to blame the week to week experience on just making everything feel worse. Each new chapter needs to feel 10x more impressive to justify the time they take to release compared to catching up where there's no time at all between chapters. And while I think that's a part of it, I think it's part of a larger problem of people just being scared for the future of the series. I've been feeling the same way about Egghead the same way many people felt about Wano. A lot of my headcanons have already been destroyed, I'm worried about the fact the Ancient Kingdom was so scientifically advanced, etc. And I think it mostly comes from people being scared about the future. When you're catching up, if you have a criticism or worry with where something might be going then you can just binge 100 more chapters and see if you were justified or not. Nearly every time Oda finds a way to make it work. Can't do that week to week. Wano and Kaido were built up for so long, and when it turned out the arc was basically the same as every other, people got burned because they're starting to realise the end of the series will also be much more underwhelming than the impossible expectations both Oda and the fans have built up. The end of the series will be just like Wano, just like every other arc, and I'm okay with that honestly. Wano was still good. Tl;dr: Overall, Wano was as good as every other arc - what matters are peoples expectations. Due to how built up it was people expected more payoffs than normal. We got what we usually get. People are let down - despite this being no different than every other arc. Oda will get there eventually. Calm your tits.

Oda set too many things up and didn't resolve them... or worse still resolved them too easily and they never became an issue and were just a waste of time. The arc was too long as it is, and if you're going to take time to set things up you should respect the story and the characters and the readers enough to make it pay off. Oda is at his best when he sets things up and has them pay off. the whole story is a set up for the one piece. We've been on this voyage with Oda and the crew for so long and have plenty of patience as long as the pay off is worth it. We'll give all the time that this story needs, just don't waste it.

For me the biggest thing is the time we got was spend on things I didn't feel we need, Yamato, instead of what we have been waiting for for years. Feels like all the scabbards got wasted, either they didn't get enough panel time or Oda undermined them (kinemon), like why couldn't hyogoro been one of them we absolutely had no need for the yakuza of wano they are a total wast of time. Why didn't we even learn raizo's past, but we got it in a fucking sbs... Same can be said for the tobiroppo all of them have easy backstories that should have been explored but we wasted time on other stuff. And the ending is just the worst... it just feels like Oda wanted to put in an add for film red. Of course we can never forget that Yamato should have never exited, taking up so much panel time on someone completely irrelevant that brought nothing to the arc, just merch sales.

Oda has bitten off more than he can chew with thousands of characters and the humongous world of Onepiece. It is impressive that he did it for such a long time but, he is human after all. This is sadly Oda unable to do full justice to the monster he created, which has outgrown him. This makes me wonder, don't his editors and assistants help him out or does he not take help and intends to do everything on his own? The man has been ruining his health writing and drawing this manga. It seems he is now in a rush to finish up before his health suffers even more and take a much needed rest. Us fans of the manga/anime need to make peace with the fact that many plot points not directly linked with the end game will be sadly pushed to the wayside.

I don't think it's about forgetting something. More like, either he himself got burned out by going way too ambitious, or WSJ rushed him out of Wano due to falling sales. All the things we talk about with the thought that they would've made the arc great are great stuff indeed, but many of these things would have had disappointed weekly readers at many times. Oda can handle a few weeks of disappointed weekly readers with either the beginning of Dressrosa or latter half of Whole Cake Island, but with how ambitious Wano was, neither Shueisha nor Oda would've been able to do that. And, thus, in my opinion, we got the arc we did. Atleast I think so.

You saying that you loved Gear 5 and that you would rank Wano an A. So far I would rank Wano a D. Everything from Wano right of the bat was slow paced, unnecessary fillers telling every person background, the Emma story, the samurai story, Kaido commanders story, smile story, etc.. It's too overwhelming to put everything in one Arc. All the fighting vs Katakuri with him predicting his punches was all lost, it's like Luffy downgraded and Bam, gear 5. The gomu gomu no mi is a lie. All these Looney tunes animation and the animation itself is just a far cry from other less known anime battle scenes. It's a complete mess. Watching One Piece anime since 2005, I was a hardcore fan and this just ruined everything for me. This is one of the worst arc ever. I still remember Oda saying Wano would be the best arc and he promised us a final battle that would top Marineford. For now, all I'm seeing is disappointment after disappointment. The kid in me that loved the gum no mi paramecia type, a type way inferior than Zoan and Logia that could top out by training and resilience is lost. All that training with Rayleigh basically for only 3 arcs. Nothing beats Water 7 and Alabasta for me. Everything post skip is just shit.

Zunesha ain't allowed to do shit unless Momo gives him permission. Back on Zoa he needed his permission to fight back against Jack and his crew. He likely wouldn't ask for his permission either unless it was in self defense due to him being condemned to walk the seas. Plus what was an admiral going to do against an entire newly liberated country and joyboy? At least in Zunesha's mind it probably wasn't necessary to stay if he could not enter the country

In 2016 I binged One Piece and caught up to the series. At the time we were in Zou taking a detour to whole cake island. I really enjoyed WCI it’s one of my favorite weekly experiences ever. And I think it’s the best new world arc but at the time I really wanted to go to Wano. The Wano arc was the most anticipated arc at the time and for me it not only failed to live up to the hype but it changed how I view the series. This is the only arc I’ve ever read to not only feel dragged out but also rushed. The villains of the arc were very underwhelming. Big Mom who had so much built up with Luffy went out sad against Kidd and Law. Kaido was built up since 2013 and his character was very disappointing. During the raid he a lot of build up and in the end all that was undone so that he can a brute who just wanted chaos. It was terrible. I feel like Kaido could have paralleled Luffy with the whole JoyBoy thing. Oda made it seem like Kaido really wanted to become JoyBoy and Luffy happens to be JoyBoy. He could have wrote around that and made it a really great backstory. The strawhats aren’t special to me anymore. In one arc the strawhats went from young adults chasing dreams to now characters destined to wake the world up. I don’t find them interesting anymore if I’m being honest. Also the “One Piece” doesn’t have the same appeal to me it had before. The “One Piece”, before, was a treasure anyone could go out to sea get lucky and maybe find. Now it seems like it’s custom fit for Luffy and only him. Last the tension from the story is all gone for me. The death fakeouts were out of control during that arc. Now you may ask why still read the story? 1. ⁠Shanks, he’s really awesome 2. ⁠I want to know what the One Piece is 3. ⁠Already in a thousand plus chapters might as well finish it up.

I think you're really hitting a lot of nails on the head - hard agree that the arc is both extremely overstuffed and yet simultaneously could've done so much more. For me, I think that the "less is more approach would have really helped the arc live up to it's potential and hype. For starters, I really don't think that Big Mom or her crew should've ever been introduced - with her in the picture, it draws attention away from Kaido (who is and should have been the sole antagonist of the arc) and ends up devaluing her and Kaido's strength. Without Big Mom, suddenly we could have had Luffy, Law, and Kidd all work with one another to best Kaido. This would in turn allow Kaido to serve as the nigh unkillable presence he is supposed to be rather than just a punching bag for Luffy who forgets to use his awakened form. However, when Big Mom is in the picture, Oda was suddenly confronted by the need to give her enemies and this ended up with her being defeated in an extremely underwhelming manner. Completely agree with the point about Kaido and joy boy - it really felt like Oda was building towards a Kaido backstory to shine a light on why he is a depressed, suicidal drunk. This would have been the perfect opportunity to show what led him to realise that he is not Joy Boy, why he has remained in Wano, and what he's been waiting for (to meet Joy Boy, to die to a worthy opponent, etc.). I was actually malding hard when I realised that the fight was done after the big Luffy punchl; Oda really failed to deliver on expectations and it felt like he just decided "I've gotta wrap this up, I'm done with this arc". Like you, it's sort of left me feeling very lukewarm about One Piece ever since, which is a shame

Oda and the studio that works with him DESTROYED One Piece. After the 2years time skip things was very dodgy like the whole Fish Island arc was boring af, punk hazard was okay, dressrosa was kind of good, but this Wano arc is/was a total deiaster. This reminds me of some of my thoughts after chapter 1057 I posted a while ago: I'm a big fan of One Piece and have been enjoying it for roughly a decade, but I have plenty of criticisms as well. It's an absolutely amazing series, considering the limitations of writing one chapter a week, and the inability to edit anything afterwards. Oda has done spectacular planning in that regard, but that was less so in Wano considering all the Wano-specific narrative and writing issues. Taking the Hiyori rakugo line as a small example: assuming it was a translation issue, and the line was directed only at Orochi and/or softer in its condemnation/just a call-back to the Oden scene. It still leaves the cycle of hate unaddressed at best. The Kurozumi didn't all conspire to poison the shogun candidates. They were eventually all hunted and killed regardless. That is what gave birth to a figure like Orochi/Kanjuro. A better message would have to have Tama or Toko be a Kurozumi and Sukiyaki-Momo-Hiyori heal the relations and end the cycle of hate. Consider how we left other islands the strawhats saved like Dressrosa, the cycle of hate ended and Tontatta/toys assimilated. The people of Dressrosa themselves stood up to Doflamingo with the birdcage and realized their mistake with Riku Doldo III. Then consider how the people of Wano were written. Kaido called them a broken populace who didn't stand up for themselves, and they actually stayed that way till the end. They literally had to be told about the whole raid thing even happening, and that too completely after the fact. The island was saved and fallen leadership restored, but the cause of their fall wasn't addressed (i.e. the Kurozumi killings that gave birth to Orochi). And all of this is just one small plotline in Wano. It's not just that people had unrealistic expectations from Wano, and Oda didn't live up to their headcanon. It's more that Oda actually has done better before, and Oda himself set high expectations with all the things he set up in Wano, only to realize he had too much on his plate, then cramming and off-screening stuff so even the good stuff was short on time. I'm reasonably sure he did a lot of rewriting on the fly, just considering how many little things he wrote in (like the sword, Zoro samurai rallying line, etc.). It's not unreasonable for readers to expect more from Zoro in a samurai heavy arc where Oda himself writes Zoro to have a more major role. Sanji got more character growth in Wano than did Zoro. It's like Oda executing 20 elements poorly that dilute the 10 he wrote amazingly, where he could have just written 15 elements spectacularly and cut down on everything that didn't need to be there. Oda himself has said that he has trouble limiting his imagination and if he wrote everything he wanted to, the series would never end. Another small thing is the Big Mom crew. Assuming Oda will later explain the reason they never came to the battle, that still doesn't change the fact that the "Big Mom crew will intervene as reinforcements" card was hanging over throughout the battle until the very end, especially considering Perospero found his way there. You can't blame the readers for expecting something like that to happen, it's not just headcanon Oda didn't deliver on. Another small thing is the Kaido/Linlin awakening. Oda writes in awakenings for Luffy-Kid-Law and makes a whole deal about Kaido having knowledge of awakenings, but then literally no one in the strongest crew we've been building upto for years composed of all Zoans on top of that has a single explicitly shown awakening. Even if Kaido and Linlin were already awakened or there's some reason the Tobi Roppo didn't, Oda didn't actually tell us any of that, whereas he has in past arcs. It's not an unreasonable expectation to have. There are many, many other things as well, especially around Kaido, the Scabbards, uneccesary chatacters, amnesia, and themes of Wano, but the point I'm trying to make is that just handwaving away criticism of Wano based on wostgen-twitter-type hyperbole, unwarranted/inane hate isn't the right way either. Wano is 149 chapters, and these little things actually stack up over the course of 4 years of weekly reading. I'm not saying Oda won't address a lot of hanging threads in the future, or that Wano won't be viewed more favourably then, I'm just saying that there was more than usual narrative issues that are Wano specific and can't be cured by more connections made after the fact.

Really well said I was out of the loop during Wano's serialization as I had irl stuff that took me out of it for a while (then since I was out of the loop for a while I just forgor to come back 💀), but I did reread the entire New World in binge last month and ...... yes, in binge the problems of the arc are very apparent and so are it's strength. Whilst I was reading I was having a blast (except act 1, it was way way too slow, long and not very interesting for a set up part) and thought it was for sure going to be a banger arc, then came the end and I was just left unsatisfied with the whole arc, it felt very rushed and underwhelming in the end, which shines even more brightly when Whole Cake Island is so masterfully done, the final chase scene works SO MUCH BETTER once you are not waiting weeks for the follow up and the entire arc holds itself together perfectly etc whereas Wano feels like we are lacking a good 15% of the arc without which it sort of falls a bit apart (like : last time we saw Kidd he wanted nothing to do with the attack on Kaido and now he joins the Raid ? Where is the celebration for Jinbei joining that was promised ? These loose threads look really really bad in comparison when it looks like Oda just forgot which breaks the mystique). The fact we waited for over ten irl years for this finale was in the end very very disappointing, Wano was close to being an S tier arc but it falls short and the more things simmer in my mind and the more frustrated I become and the lower I rate the arc overall

Wanna know what the difference between Dressrosa and Wano is? Dressrosa had 1 problem, Doflamingo, yes it was a big problem, but it was a problem that could and was solved in a very short time, since Doflamingo had to maintain the appearance of things being ok, Dressrosa had good infrastructure and almost no issues outside of the people directly affected. Meanwhile Wano is a complete mess, they are going to need decades to undo the slew of issues that Kaido and Orochi caused, drinkable water is unatainable in some places, food scarcity was the norm for many and that will change, but that requires the development of infrastructure, at the same time, because of external forces Wano is going to need to form an army or a militia quickly. These are just some of the slew of problems it has. Some people say that Oda didn't adress the cycle of hate and that was a mistake, but in my eyes the priorities of those people are complete ass, Wano has a bunch of different problems and being worried about being or not being morally correct ranks pretty fucking low.

There are many reasons why Kaido wanted to commit suicide, first reason was so oda could show us just how invunerable he is and second is because he felt unfulfilled and derpressed after a dishonourable win against oden.

I don't fully buy into that, i know he felt terrible for getting help against Oden but honor isn't part of Kaido's values, he is all about survival of the fittest and dominating with might alone plus he already killed the old lady and showed no shame in executing Oden. Also in chapter 1049 he smiles talking to King about how apparently Oden was waiting for Joyboy, not something he would do if that was the source of his depression.

Issue with wano is it tried to do two separate arcs One arc is of the wano samurai claiming their rightful place that's been stolen by a tyrannical shogun and the demon king kaido for their fallen master Oden Other is a band of pirates sailing to a land of mighty warriors and help them save it from a war mongering pirate emepror that dominates the skies as a mighty dragon god who's also named kaido Like oda wanted best of both worlds But it felt all Soo cramped by going back and forth to the pirate tale and Oden piece

No.Was never mentioned. It’s probably true he was waiting because Oden told him to wait. But that was real unclear. When you have his daughter, who was there when Oden told Kaido to get strong and wait, asking Kaido what he’s talking about…there is clearly something more or it was real, real unclear.

Too long. Arc 1 was slightly too long - Arc 2 was way too long - Arv 3 was okay No deaths of importance. Seriously. Ending section was completely rushed for what seems to be an mid tier movie. Too many questions left untold. Possible lore reveals left out. BM and Kaido mystery is okay by me as I believe it's gonna pay off in the future. I've always believed that if Kaido is to die. He is going to die on a grand stage for all the world to see. Like whitebeard. I believe he's gonna die in the final war going out in a blaze of glory. I doubt BM will die, but will kinda get reformed almost - kinda.

Is it really that much worse than other arcs, or is this the arc where many realize that they have been duped? That there is no great, genius master plan and that Oda keeps adding new things, new mystery boxes whenever he fells like it without reflecting how this will impact the story? Perhaps people finally recognized some of the massive flaws One Piece has been suffering from for years?
