Mekk-Knight was an Archetype that forever changed the Game style format. Before the players didn't give importance to the position of the cards (Except for the arrows of the Links) but now, everyone tries to place a single Card per Column.

Mekk-Knights may not be tire 1, but their responsible for making paranoid players set their spells/traps in empty columns. Those things have a searchable floodgate for crying out loud.

Mind Control going to 1 was a pretty big hit to Mekk Knight Invoked IMO. It made setting up otks a lot more difficult.

I'd say Instant Fusion to 1 also hurt the deck. You could cheat out Thousand Eyes, take a monster, set up a column, and extend from there.

I was amazed when I first looked Blue Sky online , when I read it's effect I couldn't believe such card exists xD , and since then I like them a lot , they have badass artworks too

As a Mekk-Knight player since release, this deck was never tier 1. It has always, and will always, be rogue. The whole point of the deck is to adapt and counter the meta. Tier 1 would mean it was dominant, and it wasn't. I would understand if it was titled Why Was Mekk-Knights a Threatening Rogue deck but that wouldn't fetch the views. I've top 8 and 16'ed a few regionals with Invoked Mekk, but I would never, ever, consider it tier 1.

If you want to consider it tier 1.5/2, during pendulum true draco format 2, that's fair enough. It was the third most represented deck, however, so saying it was only rogue is just inaccurate.

@@BladeYGO Again, as someone who was topping events in that format with Invoked Mekk, saying it's 1.5 would be an overstatement because the deck in itself didn't do anything. Was it in the meta? Sure. It would be comparable to Dogmatika in today's landscape. It's good, but it's not a tier 1 deck, and half tiers don't exist. I like how you brought light to Mekk's, but saying it's tier 1 or "1.5" isn't factual. There was no call for these things to be hit. They lost to Sky Strikers from advantage, True Draco didn't care due to Diagram. You're really missing a lot of context here. Stealing games =/= Meta defining cards. [Edit] It wouldn't be considered Tier 2 either. Trickstars, Sky Striker, Gouki, Draco, Pend Magician were in the tier 1/2 spots. Trickstar SS was by far the strongest variant, and at the *most* people threw in 2 Purple, 2 Blue. But if we're judging that as Mekk-Knights as a whole, well, then I guess every deck variant would be called "Invoked Mekk Handtrap with Traps" or something. I'm not here to trash on the video, I just feel as a whole, it's really misrepresenting the whole archetype. It's like saying Invoked is tier 1, but what variant? Is it the Invoked portion or the other engine? Then can you even consider it tier 1 if it's the secondary engine or the primary engine?

Looking at the top cuts that mekk-invoked took up along with the other 2 top decks compared to the actual rogue decks they were much more represented at the height of their popularity you could say they were tier 1.5 even tier 1 with how represented in top cut they were

I do feel you though, calling a deck a Mekk-Knight deck for running 6 cards is kinda ridiculous when people generally run more handtraps than that and they serve just as much function.

Gotta be honest here. As amazing as it is to see mekk-knights getting some attention, I feel like this video has some misleading or incomplete information. Calling the mekk support engine of 2018 a "tier 1" strategy is a fair bit of an exaggeration, and You said they have little to no interruptions, which isn't true. It just wasn't as relevant in those formats, because it came in the form of spells and traps, which weren't as splashable and weren't as easily searchable as they are now. It would have been cool to see you talk about how incredibly different the mekk-knights of yesteryear are from the mekk-knights of today.

they can make one of the best engines out there I use 3 blue sky 3 purple nightfall 1 indigo,red and yellow That's all it gives you some removal, advantage , bodies and/or forces negates. Love mekks but I never play them pure , only as an engine .

Pure is the best way to play them right now. They don’t help any other deck do something better, and no other engine adds anything to what Mekks want to do. Also, that’s too large of an engine. Cut at least 1 Blue and the Yellow. If you’re not running the floodgates, Indigo isn’t played either.

Mekk knights can still search their reborn/negation trap which in tandum with shifty boi, lets them have 2 - 3 effect veiiers

I went 2-2 at locals with a pure Mekk Knight Deck. Then I converted it into Crusadia Mekk Knight go second deck.

I think my favorite thing about Mekk Knights is that in Master Duel Secrets can negate AccessCode even if it sends itself because of OCG rulings and my god its so dirty.

Being the first player to top with Invoked Mekk-knight I have to say it was honestly one of the most expensive decks when it came out (about 1200)
