Why Was My Video Demonetized? Here's My Story

Sorry to hear about your struggles. After putting out nothing but helpful family gardening videos and having my channel demonetized, I can really identify with the issues with KZbin. Hopefully you figure out where you want to take your efforts. Hopefully, you keep on making videos. I really like the direction that your channel has taken.

I have a series of "No-Weed Garden" videos that were hammered and I went round and round for the longest time just like you did. It was in the title and in the tags. I eventually changed to "No-Fuss Garden" for a long time, then went back to "No-Weed Garden". I played around with the thumbnail and had a couple suddenly earn status, but the thumbnails were severely washed out white. I can't explain the thumbnail approval. Really odd. Guess what word I think contributed to the whole debacle? Yes, same pot-type potential reference. It's incredibly irritating because they're laziness is costing money on both sides. But on their side, the impact is so incredibly small, I think they can absorb the scorn. So, yep, know how you feel. Keep pounding the door and best.

Taylor Schumacher my biggest complaint is that it was reviewed by a person twice and still was said to be unsuitable.

@@GrowingAnswers that's the rub. They may have someone that is paid by video reviewed or have extremely high review metrics. So they are not really reviewing it. Ideally there would be a system that other people on the platform could validate it

I just watched 2 ads to get to this video. Whatever it was KZbin fixed it. This better be good...oh, I get it. Good analysis and figuring out why the video got demonitized. However, don't feel entitled to get ad money from KZbin.

I think the problem is twofold. First the sheer volume of new videos makes it impossible to monitor without automated systems. Then you will always have folks trying to game the system. KZbin is not going to tell you what triggered the offense for the same reason that Google won't give you their algorithm because people would certainly use the info to their advantage. I wish I had the answer to this problem because it would probably make me rich. I believe these demonetization errors do hurt KZbin but maybe they just don't hurt them enough. When they hurt them enough is when they will stop.

Scott Fannin the words high, purchasing and grow all can trigger the algorithm. Even the word own. If those words are in the title or description it could get auto demonetized.

Primarily this is the result of automation a removing humans as much as they possible can it happens with other scenarios I'm finding you get the bum's rush and run around all because now rather than employing humans they let computer automation take over and we the customer or end user in this case are treated with contempt.
