Pretty much every question in regards to toy limitations can be answered with one word - "MONEY". Not giving him ratchets in the hips was a cost-cutting measure. Prime's tail end even told ME, a total toy biz outsider, that Hasbro was frantically trying to shave costs wherever possible. Remember that other Beast Hunters Prime? That one had no ratchets anywhere and mine at least has turned into spaghetti. Every joint is so loose, he can't hold up his own weight. A pity, he looked pretty bad ass but the toy is worthless by now.

the only attachment I have to that figure is one time I was at my friend's house and he literally had this version, but he didn't know how to transform it cuz he wasn't into transformers, so he told me I could just have it. If I remember correctly, the only reason this guy exists was because the senior director of design for Transformers at the time in Hasbro DEMANDED a green Optimus Prime to go along with the dragons he also PUSHED on the team during the whole season 3 fiasco, so the toy designers were pretty much forced to shoe-horn this Optimus figure in at a budget that was already being stretched paper-thin due to having to remake the entire season 3 line from the ground up for Beast Hunters.

This redeco shows Optimus after he was painted by Shockwave to be turned into Fake Soylent Green in the Transformers x Soylent Green movie, Soylent Greenlight. In this movie, the green version of Soylent commands a higher price on the market, because green transformers are less common than red or blue ones. So the Decepticons started painting all the Autobots green to get more money from their fake food business.

I once owned that green Prime. I love but I sold it ages ago. Now, I only have my Platinum Ultra Magnus of that mold. The main flaw of that mold are that very, very thin panels of the arms transformation.

I vaguely remember this being red without a transformation but having the guns firing out. 2012 plastic has indeed not aged well. Interesting thing about Prime Magnus. Never got the original one, but got I guess The BH one which was a retool of the Prime mold with a winged backpack and hammer.

I had these, and the repaint with original Prime color, and actually feels hollow. It's kinda sturdy, but because of the plastic and the hollow, it has that feeling that is one of those cheap Knock Off, although it has electronics.

What if I told you, that he's Green Prime, NOT Optimus Prime. Yeah apparently there was a short series with a whole bunch of different Primes with different colors as the major look, and all of them were just various forms of Optimus Prime being led by some sort of super god version of Rodimus Prime that's supposed to be Primus. Just look up the Primus Vanguard and you'll see what I mean. This green boy was one of them, and he was a gentle soul.

Is funny how this one is more accurate than the rid voyager but only from the front… Also I had the opportunity to get the red normal one back in the day for reduced price and I passed on him because of the huge backpack put me off, kinda regret it, but not much, just a bit This toy makes me miss the old gimmicky toys, they had gimmicks but tried to maintain the looks and articulation as much as possible. Now they make bricks that has next to 0 articulation, not even an attempt to be faithful to the model… and of course, more expensive than before

Not really. Nemesis' color scheme was just a desaturated prime color scheme. Though the toy was the typical black and teal nemesis paint job.
