In law 'conspiracy' or 'joint enterprise' is a charge which is treated with much more severity in the courts. Now of course - with the Post Office inquiry it is blindingly obvious to anyone who has followed the proceedings that 'conspiracy' should be right at the top of any future charge sheet. However that seems unlikely - given the massive extent of the conspiracy and the involvement of 'establishment' figures, such as government ministers and senior civil servants. Direct action pressure groups have no such protection and therefore the individuals concerned are subject to the full force of the law. Is this right - clearly not - but it comes with a constitution of 'entitlement' which means that the prosecution system and the courts will always give the 'high and mighty' much more latitude than the ordinary man or woman on the street.

Was this the judge that would not give the correct sentence for violence against a woman to a met policeman. Because it would ruin his career? Just shows how twisted his judgements are and he should be removed from the bench.

People are soon going to realize that peaceful protest has a 100% FAILURE rate. And once they realize that, and change to actions that bring success, then we'll see change. But first people need to terminate their addiction to pacifism.

Single point I'd disagree on. As a member of the no longer tolerant left; ACAB, burning a police vehicle is not something for which an angry person should be condemned.

1. You age does not impact the application of the law 2. Your profession does not impact the application of the law 3. Your "feelings" not impact the application of the law What is disingenuous is to compare planned closures with unplanned closures, and I suspect the judge is rather more versed in the law than JoB.

The way Just Stop Oil conduct their protests... I am surprised the public have not taken full violent action. Why is it that their right to protest overrides peoples right to live their life? It is not peaceful when people's lives are disrupted, the anxiety people have when knowing they are late for work, a flight or being anxious about an important event being missed... One of the Stonehenge guard quit after Just Stop Oil's stunt... People talk about importance of mental health... why is this suddenly fine?

You can make this same argument in reverse. Why do business's right to "make money" override everyone else's rights to live a normal healthy life? I can give you a direct example, the town I was born in has a giant factory that spews smog all day, every day. As a result, my brothers and I are the first in our entire family history to have asthma. I have a lifelong illness which has lead to hospitalisation more times than I can count - the first being at just 6 months old, after which I am lucky to be alive - most likely due to growing up besides a factory. Why does the factory owner's right to make money override our right to live normal healthy lives?
@iLAGnDC6 ай бұрын
@@jymsc Either your family moved there while the factory was present or it got built and started running before or after you were born. Either way, your parents either CHOSE to move there knowing or after it opening decided to stay. A choice was made not to move. Business has a right to run but you also have a right to autonomy. Your example is more like you having a smoker friend and he smoked cigarettes near you everytime... an finding you developed cancer and started blaming your friend... You CHOSE to be in proximity... What choice were the motorists given when stuck in hours long traffic? If they knew this was going to happen, I am sure they would have CHOSE a different route. They are literally imprisoning law abiding citizens for hours for their own ideals...
