I find it funny that Abby’s always saying “don’t mess up my reputation” or “you ruined your reputation” to the girls when she pulls stuff like this. My admiration to Aubrey O’Day for not bowing to Abby and stopping work with Nia! Can you imagine Abby offered her $10,000 to quit working with Nia? I once had a toxic boss like this who did this sort of thing behind my back (telling clients not to sign contracts with me) - and as an adult I was traumatized by it for quite awhile. I can’t imagine how hard it would have been for Nia and Holly to continue to work with Abby after that. I guess the only good point was that Production was pro-Nia getting the music video - so as long as they were loyal to the production company there wasn’t a lot Abby could do to get rid of Nia. I thought the same thing. It could possibly be the producers covering for Abby because it is so horrible, just like how they changed the audio when she disgustingly made fun of chloe’s eye condition. It's always why I always hated things like Abby advising girls to say "yes" to whatever a producer/auditioner/etc. asked them and that one mom at the Atlanta audition who said her daughter would dance for Abby in her underwear. I kinda agree. Showbiz is filled with young girls desperate for a break who do work, often in rather poor conditions, only to receive no money or less than promised at the end and end up not being able to make rent or having to do unwholesone things to do so because they were just too desperate and didn't insist on money. Plus, while Abby might be receiving money from their dance tuition and the show, a real agent might be relying on the girls getting paid to be able to pay their mortgage and therefore might not be so understanding.

If you read the notes, it says that a lot of companies didn’t want to work with the show because of the legal controversies
@rhiannalee963 жыл бұрын
People often exploit dancers and ask them to work for exposure rather then money. It’s so wrong and basically asking dancers to work for free. This is why Abby would have pushed for it. Dancers work hard and deserve to be paid for the time and effort and people forget this
@corimoon3360 Жыл бұрын
Yes but Abby really only cared for herself in that situation so while she was right to be upset about the pay she didn’t really care for the girls it was mostly about her. I don’t think anyone forgets that I just think they felt bad for the girls because they really wanted that opportunity.

Can you please analyze the episode when Maddie and Chloe got the same exact solo and first Chloe won and then they said Maddie won? Because it doesn’t make sense to me how Maddie could’ve won if she fell out of all her turns.
@cvera__3 жыл бұрын
She has a video about that on her channel :)
@aldcatlantic27363 жыл бұрын
One judge messed up their score for Chloe(giving her more points than they could) so it had to be reevaluated, so I dunno what they lowered it to but I bet it was lower than she deserved. Also maddie did actually have a higher difficulty score due to having a few harder moves that Chloe didn’t have like a front aerial that are worth more points so the debate is did Maddie’s extra difficulty points eliminate the lost points over her turns or did production have a say in lowering Chloe’s score beneath what it should’ve been during the revaluation
@chasityslocum40323 жыл бұрын
@@aldcatlantic2736 Maddie might've done better during the judges version and then bobbled her turns for the second time since the producers make them perform multiple times.
@corimoon33603 жыл бұрын
@@aldcatlantic2736 I also think it’s weird how ONLY Chloe’s scores got messed up. Out of all the dancers that danced before and after her you mean to tell me only Chloe was scored wrong?? I smell bs.

The idea that at that point in the show with them making so much money they wanted major artists to just “donate” their music???
@MsJubjubbird3 жыл бұрын
Along with Kenzie's music contract, little known fact is Kendall, Maddie and Mackenzie were signed to the same talent agent at the time. It was before the Zieglers were big enough to sign up to WME. It was called Stars or something and it was based in LA- I remember seeing the website and of course Jill was featured in Kendall's profile - Jeez I can't possibly imagine why Kendall got no jobs out of it? Abby was 'manager' for the TV show, which is why Maddie and Mackenzie got their jobs externally. When you are signed up with a talent agent you are usually not allowed to do unsolicited work because then your agent doesn't get paid, which is reasonable because agents need to eat too. But having the girls quietly sit out and discussing the fine print of legal contracts doesn't exactly fit the style of the show. Plus they probably tried to see how flexible all the contracts were for such an opportunity.
@strawberrylime333 жыл бұрын
Love your videos!! Something I'd love to know is whether or not Abby really had "blacklisted" several dancers in the dance world for disagreeing or refusing to work with her or sign her contracts. It's a recurring topic on the show.

Makes me wonder if the Elastic Heart video with Shia LaBeouf was possibly set up by Abby as revenge for the other girls staying in the MattyB video in an effort to create jealousy. If so, that backfired badly.
@KHENEDITV3 жыл бұрын
This is just a theory but I’m sure the producers probably wanted Maddie to be the lead in that video but she wasn’t there at first so they chose McKenzie instead so when Maddie showed up on set they were probably like wtf
@johnsmi2133 жыл бұрын
Not really. The notes say the producers reached out to "guest stars" and Matty B agreed for the publicity so I doubt they had any expectations. Also Mackenzie is favored because she's tiny like Matty. Maddie would have been too tall/old. I think they were hoping for a cameo but she couldn't do that. And thank God, Maddie was a legit star at that point and shouldn't do something crappy like this.

So many people associated with DM have been arrested for inappropriate behavior. First the guy who choreographed Broadway blondes, then Kevin (the guy who took Brooke on a date), then this guy. It's very disturbing. I wonder how many more there are that just haven't been caught yet (both from Dance Moms, and in the dance world overall).
