Ma'am in my opinion waste to energy projects suffers because mainly of transportation and waste collection issue and yes segregation is a huge problem, I came to know from a friend works in this sector. As we know we have more villages and there are a massive quantity of waste in these areas that are not being transported to these plants, also in 2023 there are no govt plan to do it. This is huge huge issue. The soil, and air is degrading because of this reason.

Why have you not considered the land value what ha been saved by not dumping it on open grounds ... Why have you not considered byproducts of out put .... Solid waste can be segregated from ash. Primary issue is to dispose the waste not tk generate power Power can be self consumed

We are using the wrong type of waste. We are trying to develop a one solution solves all problems type of a solution. Instead India needs to go for specialised systems for specialised waste. Organic waste can be converted into ethanol, renewable diesel, MS, purolytic kerosene, biomethane. Plastic waste cab ve subjected to pyrolysis process to obtain pyrolytic oil which can be further processed into diesel and petrol. The remaining inirganic waste can be thrown into waste to heat plants and used to replace coal as the backbone of our electricity grid. The waste obtained from the waste to heat process can then be used in construction industry as a substitute to sand. The legacy waste already landfilled needs to be thrown into waste to heat plant and be looked at as an expense centre to clear landfills, which can then be used for better avenues like parks, storage tanks of Pumped hydro storage or solar and wind parks. This will make waste management a susutainable process.

India has not invested into segregation and the current situation is also a effect of the attitude of people. Many people have recieved 2 bins for basic waste segregation. But 99.99 percent of households use one bucket as a water bucket and dump all the waste in one bucket.
