Of course, but it's easier said than done. There are very sneaky tricks and manipulation tactics that Africans are using. These tactics are akin to social engineering used in modern hacking and taking advantage of psychological vulnerabilities. Most of all is the layers of lies from various individuals involved in a process, to an extent that is beyond reason to assume for most people, even the most skeptical among us.

It's just common sense... Always allow time to help you... 4 years is key for almost everything... high school, college, military service contracts, presidential, once you turn 21 give yourself 4 years to fully mature and understand that being an adult is about managing your time, making good decisions and resolving situations...

That's bcuz they are not OUR OWN. These people are from the lineage of Ham. We people who were sold into captivity by these gentiles are Shemetic/Hebrews. Read Genesis 10:1 & 32. They have always been our open enemy along w/ ALL the other gentiles nations including the Arabs, Caucasians, Asiatics, & AFRICANS. Our land is being occupied by the Synagogue of Satan & the Palestinians, yet we are in Canaan land, once again, being hoodwinked & bamboozled by a bunch of LIARS who told us that we must return back to the land of our captivity. How do you think you were sold into captivity? Why did you end up in that land in the first place? Do some research & reading instead of Don g what us expected, believing everything your open enemies tell you. Suggested readings: "From Babylon to Timbuktu" by Rudolph Windsor. "The 13th Tribe" by Arthur Koestler. Knowledge is Power!✊🏾✊🏿 Stop running the world over looking to be loved by people who hate you! Seek first Yah's Kingdom. WAKE UP!!!!!

Is Ghana the only place in Africa? Nigeria is there too and that’s the country where most(if not 80%) of your ancestors were taken by the white men. Oh…I forgot they(Ghanaians) told y’all Nigeria is bad and Nigerians are bad too and y’all believed it without even going there to see for yourselves…Y’all allowed yourselves to be deceived and scammed and now y’all are complaining and talking about “Leaving Africa” like you went to other parts of Africa. Y’all allowed Ghanaian government and people to deceive y’all and making y’all believe that Ghana is the best place in Africa. Now, you can all see for yourselves. And by the way, it’s not just Ghana and Nigeria. There are other places in Africa y’all can actually live and be comfortable without going through all these non sense you people are going through in Ghana.

@@kingmartin3990 wow this right here is why African/ black people are our own worst enemy. No empathy, no compassion for these victims a classic case of blaming the victim. @@jamaicannana9012 I think you misunderstood my comment. And why should I feel pity for these people? I don’t and can never feel any pity for them. Wanna know why? Cause there some AAs that moved to Ghana and they all traced their ancestry to Nigeria, but they said they were told by Ghanaians that Nigeria isn’t a good country(somewhere they’ve never been to before to see for themselves to know if what they were told was actually true), and there was even one AA lady who got her ancestry DNA results when she arrived Ghana and her ancestry was traced to tribes in Nigeria, but she also said some bad things about Nigeria and Nigerians( somewhere she’s never been to) just based off what she was also told there in Ghana about Nigeria and Nigerians. She said something like “she wasn’t expecting or didn’t want her roots to be Nigeria, and out of all places NIGERIA?”. The look on face and the way she said all that with disdain and regret, and I was like huh? 😂 The Ghanaian president/government and people deceived y’all with the year of return and the “come to the motherland, come home” nonsense and y’all fell for it. Y’all were told lies about other African countries and now, Ghana has done to y’all what Ghana does to people and what they know how to do best, and y’all are here complaining and expecting people to pity or sympathize with y’all? You are absolutely right. In West Africa, especially Ghana and Nigeria, if you in the diaspora and are building a house, buying a land, or running a business in absentia and are not careful, your own family will use your money , sell those properties, and run down your business. If you dare travel to your country to confront them, beware your life is at stake. They will eliminate you. There are so many of such cases where they killed these guys and ladies who returned to their homeland. Even some of the workers you've employed will find ways to kill you to take your possessions. They have to do something about the scammers who are stealing from returnees. Returnees are not ATMs … many go through hell in the West for what they have. To then have to return broke after being fleeced in Ghana is devestating. To be fair this isn’t only a Ghanaian problem. You so right, people have to be careful about many of these chiefs, I know one who is working with an American scamner who brings people on tour to buy land that the chief says he has, but this chief is leasing land to this American scamner who subleased the land to people in USA and whom he brought on his tours, it's now becomes a huge problem in Ghana because the land is a vested/stool land that gas to go through the appropriate channels, plus many people lots are encroaching on others land or fully on other people's land, the CID officers in Cape Coast have been helping adequately. Very sad and disgusting to know that someone from the USA who calls himself Diasporian is bringing people to Ghana for him to full his pocket with monetary gains while leaving these people to suffer because information that sounded true is absolutely fraudelent wrong . I remember I was visiting Ghana in 2019 with my family. I was born and raised in Ghana but I decided to settle abroad. We had our visas and proper documents to show at the immigration. The immigration officer who interviewed us wanted to know our returning date and I told him and he inspected our returning tickets. Our passport were stamped two days less than the actual departing date which were not aware of it. Coming back at the airport three immigration officials seized our passport and accused us for over staying in Ghana for 2 days. We were dealing with three immigration officers at that time. Two men and a Lady officers. We were about to miss our flight and these people were demanding substantial amount of money from us before they will give our passport back all because according to them we've over stayed for 2days The whole plan started on the day that we arrived and interviewed Ghana. Before these officials allowed us to board the plane we were forced to transfer 150 US dollars into Ghanaian currency and theen deposit it into one of the immigration officer's personal accounts. Most Ghanaians are not truthful. They will rip you off and make sure you become penniless before you leave. Ghanaians has turned into panhandlers.

For all those who wish to buy property in Ghana, you must know someone with a direct link to the land commission office so you can personally verify the land deed documents. When the land is transferred into your name you need to put up a permanent fence or wall around your land so no one will encroach and build on your land in your absence. If you won't be living on your land right away, you should have a care taker stay there. These stories are the norm not the exception. Take care

OK, Shame about the scammers and sad they had a bad experience but I also think they did not do their due diligence before coming. As a Ghanaian myself, I think twice before buying land and I do all my due dilligence, running searches at the land commission, enquiring about the sellers, etc. I don't take someone's word as gospel whether it is a chief or family head. By doing my due dilligence and paying for searches at the lands commission, I have saved myself from a lot of headache and potential scammers. As for citizenship, it is a process, it is not offered immediately. I also sense a level of self entitlement here. Yes the government must do better but the reality is there are many poor Ghanaians, who do not own land or a home to their name, so the government cannot suddenly just prioritise people coming from the diaspora to the detriment of those already in Ghana, who struggle every day. The complaints about no electricity, no water or infrastructure to welcome them is quite frankly the reality for a lot of Ghanaians. I recently bought land in Ghana and where I bought it there's no development for now but it will develop over time. Ghana is a developing country so diasporans need to manage their expectations and be realistic! To every diasporan looking to move to Ghana, research, do your due diligence and build some relationships before moving or investing.

I really feel the pain of this couple. We in the diaspora basically want to find a place called home. This is heartbreaking that our people would take advantage of us. It feels like inflicting pain again from being sold into slavery by our people to now charging us more for basic things to scamming us in land deals. Ghana is a religious nation that apparently does not practice what it says it believes. Please dont tell me it happens everywhere because it seems to be part of the cultural there. If you scam someone the USA where i live there is a great chance that you are going to prison. There are systems in place to detect scammers. Its seems like this could be dealt with by having systems in place and then enforcing them if government wanted to deal with it.

I say, if you're Black American, only visit the continent but don't move there. Many and most of the countries are corrupt, and so are their citizens. I know MANY people who moved to various parts of Africa, and most of them have returned to the US. The others complain about the corruption, thief, and beggars but hope that things will improve. Doing your due diligence is essential. Even when someone you know is supporting you, make sure you also double check with land commission to ensure the land Is legally registered to the person who is selling the land. Make sure you have all your legal documents.. I prefer buying land from registered agencies , lands that are non litigation. Also ensure you speak to the locals near the land .. you will b amazed the info you can get from them about any issues with the land. DO NOT AT ANY POINT PAY WITH CASH ensure there is evidence of money you are paying.. then ensure you have a witness to sign then register your interest with the lands commission once land is transferred into your name.

However, the rife corruption I am seeing over and over in terms of Africa, has me thinking that region is better, or at best a bit easier. In fact, the husband is from the Bahamas which year after year, is voted as having one of the best GDP in the Caribbean. That would've made more sense I think.

And there are other west African countries you could actually go to that are billion times better than Ghana, but no, y’all have already bought the lies the both the desperate Ghanaian president/government and its people sold to you. Good luck to you going to Ghana to make a home or whatever. Do not believe in their lies and deceits. All they want is your money only. That’s what they’re interested in. And mind you, it’s not even up to 20% of the people that were taken from Africa and taken to the west and other parts of the world as slave are from Ghana. Sorry to hear about what this couple went through it's very sad that this is happening in the 21st century when technology has made it easier for people to purchase homes from trusted and reputable estate agents in some parts of Africa. What makes me angry is that the perpetrators are our own black people. Tell me how do we support each other when we're stealing and taking advantage of each other, it's very sad. My first time going to a Ghanaian market with my Ghanaian husband, I was walking ahead of him and asking for prices in English as I'm not fluent in the local language and the prices were trebled and then when my husband stepped in they lowered the price to the original market price, it's ridiculous and this shouldn't be happening at all amongst us. Ghana is a beautiful and peaceful country but "some" Ghanaian citizens are giving the country a bad image it's just not right.

I think the government is also sending the wrong signal and as an African I see some major land disputes between local Ghanaians and the the diasporians, since the locals wouldn't be able to afford lands that their diasporians counterpart could easily afford. Meaning future generations of local Ghanaians would have no chance. I think the government was supposed to set some guidelines when it's comes to owning land and property for foreigners who would be conferred citizenship in Ghana, the government needs to have the local Ghanaians in mind especially the future generations. The diasporians will always have the financial leverage over the locals and if they want they could purchase as many lands they can afford. Leaving many poor Ghanaians and their posterity without a land, what is the government doing to ensure when Ghanaians want to own land it is protected and available? As for conferring citizenship, you can't go anywhere in the world and just get your citizenship over night, not even in the great USA. Hope that was the case, certainly not in Jamaica. But the government is the one who is causing the confusion,it can't even cater to its own people need, yet it is giving false hope to the diasporians.

The best way to integrate in Ghana is learning the local language. Even If your Ghanaian diasporan and you don’t speak a local dialect it will be difficult to integrate. A lot of the locals do not understand your issues out there. There is barely a link b/w and African American and the locals. How often do diasporans visit the local market and buy goods and share their stories. There should be radio programs discussing this issues and creating awareness about these challenges. Segregating yourselves without creating a connection with the layman creates assumptions.
