Open-world games are like other dimensions, which is pretty cool ._. But as simple game developer I understand how difficult it's to create these dimensions, so much respect to you

Thank you Carmy, I totally agree with what you are saying here, we tried to put as much love into the execution of the experience that we possibly could :)

It’s like the original concept for Pokémon.
@ReeceGeofroy
@ReeceGeofroy Жыл бұрын
I guess you could say that haha, it’s a concept from a ton of inspirations that I grew up playing; from Pokémon, RuneScape, Zelda, and more modernized indie titles to create an experience I’ve always wanted to play :)

wow the game has come so far!! one of the things that is currently holding me back from wanting to buy this game as soon as it drops is the scenes. especially the overworld ones it’s all just a flat green color and although you may have a different style in mine personally i’d love to see more variation! however the game is a wip and you’re doing a great job so i 100% understand

@Matrix Studio i’ll check it out but tbh i wouldn’t promote under other youtubers videos unless you have their permission however reece might not care so i’m not sure

I plan on streaming very soon actually! I miss it so much, just monster tribe development has been very boring and slow so when I start my new project I’ll be trying to stream regularly

Great video. Definitely like games that have good reasons for their mechanics and uses for their loot.

At this point all your videos just feel the same. „My dream game almost cancelled“ „how i made my dream game“ „why i made my dream game“. Like common man, show something new you are working on like a mechanic. We are sick of those broad meta videos about ur indie game
@azuremv
@azuremv Жыл бұрын
nah i think it cool, they are focused on different parts, just the titles seem the same. maybe it could be less broad, a title like "what makes my open world game different from others" would probably do the trick

To be fair, new features can take a long time to develop before they’re ready to be shown off in videos, which means they would have to post less overall. The YT algorithm doesn’t like it when creators stop posting for months at a time, so they have to come up with other topics to talk about in between development.

The art style is what turns off a lot of people. A game inspired by Pokemon and yet the creatures and art style isn't lovable and has no similarities to the pokemon art style. Who is your target audience again? Art style is huge.

Also, making it open world isn't gonna do anything for your game, unless if you maybe use procedural generated levels.

Just my two cents that are probably worthless : be careful with monsters scaling with the player. It can easily destroy the feeling of progression.
@ReeceGeofroy
@ReeceGeofroy Жыл бұрын
Don’t worry! We have set this up with certain story progression points, exploring further into harder areas, and completing more objectives in the game, so there is still a variety in the difficulty scaling and letting the player progression feel fun!
