This is our story/testimony of what took place when we were just about to purchase wedding bands for our wedding ceremony. The Lord impressed our hearts to study it out and determine if we should make a financial investment in what has become one of the biggest symbols for marriage today. We believe that everything we do in our lives matters to God and that it is important to constantly seek out what is most pleasing to Him. Not because it saves us or makes us more righteous but because we love God and want to demonstrate our love for Him through our daily actions. We pray that you study and pray over this question for yourselves :) For more information and resources to study please continue reading below.
For Further Study on Jewelry + Wedding Bands:
Scriptures -
Genesis 35:1-4 - This passage identifies the jewelry in the hands and ears of Jacob's household as strange gods with the instruction to remove them as they went into the presence of God.
Exodus 33:1-6 - Another reference to jewelry as being ornaments and instruction to remove them.
Isaiah 3:16-23, Jeremiah 4:30 - In these passages, we see a direct relationship between extreme external adornment and a heart wandering away from God.
Romans 12:1-2 - Familiar verses instructing us to not have our ideas and practices in life conformed to the world. Everything we do ought to be supported by our faith in the Bible.
2 Corinthians 6:16-17 - God's instruction that our bodies are to be His temple on Earth so in everything we do and wear, we should ensure that we are not defiling the temple of God.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 - Timothy's guidance for how a woman ought to be adorned (not drawing attention to herself but attention to Christ)
1 Peter 3:3-4 - Peter's instruction for a wife's adornment, pointing to a heart for God as opposed to the external adorning.
Revelation 12:1,17 and Revelation 17:1-5 - These Scriptures go hand in hand for the topic of jewelry wearing. All throughout the Bible, we see evidence for a woman in Bible prophecy representing a church (Jer 6:2, 2 Cor 11:2, and Eph 5:22-23) and in the cited passages from Revelation, we identify the true woman and the apostate church by what she is wearing. Since neither of them speak in these verses, the only identifying and distinguishing factor is their adornment.

I've learned a lot from reading my bible and now I don't celebrate holidays that aren't ordained by God. I dress modest and don't wear jewelry. I am okay with not being so materialistic now and I get everything you both are saying now. Man I've come long way and due to me studying the bible I know better now. #Dress Modest #NotCelebratingHolidays #StayStudying

People talk about jewellery all the time as an idolatory qouting the verse where the israelites used their gold to make an idol to worship. Right! We all should be going about our daily lives naked or sew leaves to cover our groins. Rightly said by a sister, modesty is the best policy. Some sisters go overboard with dressings and face end up looking like a painted masquerade. Jewelry all around neck like a cow going to be slaughtered. Wear rags all in the name of fashion. Hair colours like Grinch stole who Christmas. Nails looking like claws. Botox gone wrong in different parts of the body. Sisters, just like in the book of Galations "who has bewitched you"? Pleaseeee stop the scarecrow dressing and atrire.

Something that stood out to me was when you talked about God's attitude towards jewelry (starting around 24-26mins) and it sounded like you were saying he didn't approve of it (sorry if that's a misunderstanding) but there's scriptures in the Bible to be exact Ezekiel 16:1-34 where God mentions him giving jewelry, fine linen, finest foods to Jerusalem (the unfaithful wife) who became more beautiful than ever, and Jerusalem using the lovely things that God had given to make shrines for idols. I agree that God didn't seem to like it when people who made idols out of jewelry wore it, but it wasn't because the beauty of jewelry within itself was the issue. From the scriptures you mentioned and others within the word the problem seems to be the heart of men not the jewelry. I just would hate for people to think jewelry within itself is not approved by God instead of realizing the way us humans view materialistic things is the issue. I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying, but just wanted to be clear. I enjoy you both!

Spoken For if god didnt have a problem with jewelry why did jacob make his family remove their rings and ear rings and lumped it in the same group as idols before he buillt a alter to the father they needed to be clean and as far as god talking about the things he gave Israel that was symbolism he never told us it was ok the Egyptians were big wearers of jewelry and make up in fact they started the early trend of wearing wigs

My take on wearing a wedding ring is to let others know that this person is already taken so it might have started wrong/paganism but something had to show that the person already belongs to someone else...

Ace Lee I used to think that too but the bible says let your yay be yay and your nay be nay. Yes I'm married. No I'm not. And realistically the ring don't stop nothing. People cheat even after making a vow. So really what's the point.

Yahwah Ministries ,,(770)7840703 The Name Kathy Kirk Main Contact About “us”?? No! 🙂 About Almighty יהוה (Yahwah), the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob……our ONLY Saviour and Redeemer according to Hebrew Scriptures! I guess one would have to know “about us” before you can understand the “why” for this site, right? Right! 🙂 Jerry and I received the Ruach haKodesh/Holy Spirit well over 40 years ago in an old time, strict living, intercessory praying and fasting Apostolic assembly here in Georgia. We learned MUCH from our first pastor and truly appreciate his teachings of trusting the Almighty in EVERYTHING, living holy/set apart from this world’s distractions. This precious brother was being lead into a Hebraic lifestyle and really did not recognize it, I don’t think. He taught against pagan days……including birthdays……keeping the dietary laws according to Leviticus, keeping your heart right……covered by the blood of Mashiach……and staying on the straight and narrow path because of an intense relationship with the Elohim/God we serve. Thirty something years ago, Jerry came across a couple of men who did not know each other at different points in time. Both were of Israeli descent and both told Jerry of the mighty Elohim, “Yahweh”……….we did not know at that time His name was really pronounced “Yahwah”…….:) THEN, a little over 27 years ago was when we discovered the name of יהוה (Yahwah) had been removed from our King James Version and replaced with upper case “GOD”, upper case “LORD” and the errors of “Jehovah” and “Jesus”. Here it was that our journey began whereby we denounced “Chrisianity” as they were never called “Christians” at Antioch, but Mashikiyim…….followers of Mashiach. We knew the world must be told the truth…..that יהוה (Yahwah)’s name was removed from His Word…..that our “God’s/Elohim’s” name was only יהוה (Yahwah) and this same יהוה (Yahwah) robed Himself in flesh to become our Lamb for redemption. Thus, the Son bore His Father’s name, יהוה (Yahwah), according to the Torah, prophets and writings……the name above all names…….never “Jesus” nor any “shua/shuah/sha” name……

I understand and agree to some extent. I myself am struggling with going natural (I have relaxed hair). I'm just curious that if nothing should be added to my body then deodorant (make me feel better that I might not stink) , perfume, makeup (even lip balm for dry lips, sanitary napkins and anything else should also be an issue. I'm not being sarcastic, just genuinely having a battle understanding where I should go from here. Thanks again for the thoughtful conversation!😇

My husband and I jus got married and we are receiving (well mostly me as the woman for not "standing up" as they say and demanding he purchase me a ring) so much persecution for not wearing rings or having a ceremony. We just went to the courthouse and made it official but the reason we did it that way was because of the lack of support we have from my family towards our relationship (My family practices alot of paganism and I am a born again believer who has chosen to walk in the path of the Messiah and so is my husband) and also for financial reasons, since we rather save for a house then a wedding. Man did this video say exactly how we feel towards the practice of wearing rings. I will b glad when my family finally gives up pressuring us about not doing things their way smh we married to please and honor God, not Man. They just don't get it.

That's very interesting. I've been wondering something for a while now. Marriage is simply defined in the bible at least wherever I've read about it. What makes a marriage complete unto God? The ceremony? The legal contract? Physical, mental and spiritual closeness and or sex? I just wanna do the right thing

Hampson Theodore yes it is. Christmas bredates our Savior it was called Saturnalia and had nothing to do with celebrating our messiahs birth. And if you can find where its written in the bible that we have to celebrate or remember his birthdays please let me know. I hope this helps my brother 😊

Praise the LORD, there are indeed '7,000 who have not bent the knee to baal'. So encouraged to see that others are realizing the truth of wedding rings and jewelry. Sometimes we can feel, like myself, that we are the only ones who see's these things. I was so encouraged by this presentation - wonderfully done. Thank you for sharing your experience and testimony. I believe the FATHER has many more wonderful TRUTHS to share with us as HE attempt to help HIS people 'shake off' the things of this world. HE is looking for a people who will do HIS will and reflect HIS lovely character......you guys are on your way...continue to surrender dear ones.

Hello, great video! Long story short I just started researching if I should or should not be wearing a wedding ring just 3 days ago after receiving TWO confirmations within hours of each other that it's pagan. The Father has been stripping me of all things pagan since the summer of 2014 and it's been such and amazing loving journey walking with Him daily and knowing what Yahushua did to reconcile me with The Father Yahuah. Have you had the same experience since or before learning about rings with The Father continuing to strip away the ways of other religions/belief systems? I thought the paragraph in that one book was interesting with the list of things the church adopted and 'sanctified' that were pagan. I'm going to look more into that as well. Keep the course in Yahua's Way! Amein

I do agree with your point of view based on our Ahayah (God) thru Yashaya (Jesus). In the beginning of my marriage we both wore rings and likewise I chose the tiniest diamond ring in which most people commented after looking at it was "OH." It did not bother me because I knew, at that time, we could have afforded almost any size diamond we wanted; lbut it made me realize that others based their determination on how you may live or if the man is enabled to take care of you just by looking at the size of the diamond. I have been married now for 27 years.. however during its course I received 2 weddings rings in which both were lost and also my husband's. It has been 16 years to date we both haven't worn one and decided "we don't need it" because our union is stronger than ever by the grace of my God. So the moral to thus story is " No matter how large or small your diamond is does not determine the length or lifetime of your marriage. If both of your hearts are not in the right places and God is not in the midst.. no large or small diamond or any ring displayed to the world will keep your marriage bonded. Put God first, middle, and last and invest that money into a down payment for a home. Blessings brother and sister

Wow. So I came across this video by pure chance. I’m curious by nature and have always questioned why we do things vs what we have been conditioned to do without question. As my partner and I have discussed marriage and in his comments probing me on the type of “ring” I’d like...I found myself questioning this ritual. Thank you for sharing your perspective and giving such thoroughness to how you both came to this choice. It’s very inspirational. I have always felt that marriage has become so commercial and legal that personal commitment has started to loose its ground. You give me hope that people still realize that this is a commitment that is deeper than paper and objects.

@@grateful1929 *The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. *Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24 KJV It also says in the Bible, Romans 12:2, KJV: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." So doesn't matter whether it's done by your most powerful man of God of everyone...As long as it displeases God, it's wrong. Period. So no one is here begging anyone to stop wearing these things it's simply opening our eyes if it's hard to change then you know it's indeed an idol ask the Lord for His Grace to be able to obey... Obedience is so important.

Hi Brandon and Sheretta, My pastor discourages married couples from wearing wedding bands. To be quite honest, it has been a struggle for me. This video really helped me to understand why they shouldn't be worn. Sheretta, I was wondering what your thoughts are on wearing makeup and whether the Bible says anything about it.
@WorthTheWait
@WorthTheWait 7 жыл бұрын
Hi! We completely understand the struggle - as we shared, we faced the very same thing in our desire to purchase them and then being led away from doing so. We'll be praying for you and encourage you to continue to study the topic for yourself. As for makeup, I haven't studied it in depth as we did with this topic, but I certainly will! I stopped wearing makeup a little over a year ago. The motivation behind my decision was a) the health of my skin - many cosmetic products contain very harmful chemicals and ingredients. I learned in a health class that whatever we put on our skin is immediately absorbed into our bloodstream, which can then poison the blood. There was a makeup foundation product from Sephora that I used everyday and I saw that it had tar as one of the main ingredients (tar is a substance used to make roads). It shocked me to realize that I was putting that on my skin and subsequently in my blood and b) the cost of these products - I was convicted that the hundreds of dollars I was putting into cosmetic products could be better used in other areas of our lives + helping those in need. I was impressed to simply focus on the natural beauty that God has given me and to do my best to care for my body/His temple. Just my perspective but I'd be happy to share once I study it in the word. Be blessed! :)

Nope they are not Biblical, we put an importance to them. They are totaly pagan, sun disk worship.. The Catholics brought them into their church then as time went on all others adopted rings as a wedding thing. But jewellery as a whole is not wrong I don't think. Only we as individuals can decide this as God gave us free will and only God can convict us on each topic..
