Had a few very minor losses, and when played those same teams second time, they won every one of them. Finished 3rd on the table. Brownlow medalist, coach of the year. Won both finals games convincingly. Won the Grand Final convincingly, yet people are surprised and say they didn't deserve it? This is a CHAMPION team and CHAMPION club!

If we include the finals, they played Geelong, GWS (3 times), Adelaide twice. So all the top 4 teams. Beat them all.
@shaunyd37 жыл бұрын
richmond finished 13th last year thats why they played some lower ranked teams twice. richmond also had alot of friday night games in 2016 and because they finished lower they dont get the primetime games for this season.
@johnarundell79517 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of similarities between this team and Geelong '07 .. under performing after knocking on the door for a few years then flick the switch ruthless monster team :) so funny people doubting they will even be a force next year when they will be top 4 for the next 10 years. Look out AFL this is happening so get used to it! Won 9 of last 10 matches.

so each team who wins the premiership we should judge them by who plays them twice? the afl does their best job at the end of the season to figure out the schedule for the next season. the afl has no idea who will be in the finals for the next year and they schedule it as such. last year richmond finished 13th so the afl decided to put them on saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon games more. what deems a good side? i tell you what, its winning your games and having minimal losses. doesn't matter who you play. richmond will have a much harder draw for next season as they are the premiers. they will get friday night and saturday nights more and they will only play about five games on saturday or sunday afternoons. ONE LAST POINT. No one has given richmond any credit this year. they played hard attacking footy all season. they deserved it. can they back it up with another solid season? i hope so only time will tell.

Richmond's win cannot be compared to the Western Bulldogs, who finished 7th on the table and then fluked their way to the GF win (good for them). Richmond has more star players, and great new talent. Richmond finished 3rd and won all their finals games convincingly. Richmond will be a real force in 2018
@rhetoric_7 жыл бұрын
and they beat Adelaide when it mattered most, a team with arguably the best defense and best offense. In my opinion, they beat the other three sides in the top four, who beat the sides in the bottom four. What can you take away from them?
@taliamason79867 жыл бұрын
Solar Fizz They thrashed Geelong. Bye or not, there is no excuse for Geelong's poor performance and Chris Scott's poor record in Finals which is staring to make me think he really isn't a good Coach after all.

I agree they had an amazing year but I don't know if their talent runs deep enough for them to be top 4 again next year. But who knows? We were underestimating them all year and they fooled us all. Maybe they'll go back to back.

Smacked the Cats. Smacked the inform Giants. Smacked the inform Crows. From 3rd place. The Dogs. Smacked the Eagles. Smacked the Hawks. Scraped by the Giants. Scrapped to a great win over the Swans. Not dissimilar but the Tigers have a deeper list for mine.
@mabiorcholappreciationpage5 жыл бұрын
Actually can be compared. Both teams finished 15 and 7, but the Dogs were lower on the table because of how many teams that finished on 16 and 6 or 17 and 5. The competition was really even in the Top 8 that year. Richmond only beat the Doggies in percentage when you compare their premiership year

I'm sorry where are grand finals played, let's not forget the fact that kids from all over dream of playing let alone winning on the mcg? Invalid comment and I'm a doggies supporter. They beat everyone who beat them except dogs and Sydney cause they played once in season and dogs didn't make finals Sydney didn't play against Richmond, and no one was going to stop them, they beat the top 4 across the finals, convincingly too, and Geelong flogged Sydney let alone what Richmond would've done. they beat port at home that year who made finals which has the most biased umpire dictating crowd in the country, and that's no secret, lost by 3 points to gws and geelong by 14 after a 6 game winning streak, bfd? Adelaide? Can't play away from home either if that's the case.. but it goes both ways and that's just it. Beat west coast and essendon, lost to Sydney by 9 points. Wow. Dogs by 5 at dogs home ground and who were still in good form at that part of the year, wow.... St Kilda and Adelaide only bad days out, every team has them. Other one being Fremantle but that's a different bad day out, at home. So it's not like Richmond are invincible? But yet they proved best team in the competition. They've won 3 in 4 years, 2020 on neutral territory or home ground advantage to Brisbane and port. So all the invalid nonsense all you haters can come up with mcg advantage cant win a season, no dynasty is mute not to mention completely untrue BS. Pay them respect, you're just coming off as a sad lowlife mongrel if you wanna hate for no god damn reason other than jealousy of success. You're probably the only sad loser on here hating because you have your own insecurities and need to take it out on a football team who'll never know you said anything by trying to belittle their achievements. 🤦🏻

This is just a small section from two pages. Abby Gilmore has had enough. She's not going to stay silent any longer to protect the football reputation of her estranged fiance, Jack Stringer, or the boys' club that is part of the AFL. It's taken a year of heartbreak and pain, but this week she found her voice. Her seemingly picture-perfect life was finally shattered when the footy WAG received a message from a 17 year old schoolgirl saying she was having sex with her fiance Stringer. Gilmore knows she will cop flak for speaking out. Blowing the whistle on the WAG lifestyle and toxic culture of sex, lies and gambling at the football clubs is regarded as out of bounds. With a six-week old baby, the couples second child, Gilmore 24 felt ashamed and humiliated as a seemingly endless parade of girls left messages with in your face taunts about their sex sessions with Stringer some sending nude photographs of the premiership player. "When it all blew up I was turned away from the club. I couldn't believe it, the senior people just didn't want to hear me out." she says. "But the Bulldogs players showed they cared. I'm proud of them for that. They were disgusted by his behaviour, doing that to me when I was pregnant. They let him know it. This was just a small section from the article. Well now we know why the Western Bulldogs are pushing out.
