It really is a great English that I don't hear a lot about. It gives my boys the writing practice they needed. Thank you! 😊

@@gracefilledday2696 true, I barely hear anyone talking about it. A few old videos on it, but that’s it. I hope to stick with the books to the end. Sometimes they take more than a year to complete because we use a Sonlight La for creative writing so we are always using the two side by side.

I’d love to see more simply classical flip throughs! I’m considering completely changing over to SC from a mix and match of curriculum for my son with ADHD and dyslexia.

So you would suggest to start with the Simply Writing from Memoir Press for a 7 year old and then move on to English 2 ?
@gracefilledday2696 Жыл бұрын
Depending on how bad their writing is. My 8 year old did Simply Classical Writing Book One and Book Two last year. We went through the books a lot faster than they're planned out because he could handle it. We're doing Rod & Staff English 2 this year! It's been a huge improvement for him. He was extremely frustrated with writing. So I was told by the Simply Classical person at Memoria Press to cut out other writing and do other things orally for a while.

@@gracefilledday2696 not really bad - she is only 7 but I figured it might be a very gentle way to get her started .

How do you manage with having five? Is it like an individual tutoring for each child? I'm asking because when I facilitated the Learning Lab I often had as many as ten students. Sometimes it ran me ragged!😸🙏❤
@gracefilledday2696 Жыл бұрын
It's not always easy, but it feels like it's what God has called me to. It's sort of like individual tutoring, but the little ones don't take as long. I get one started on something, then move on to the next one. Lol! Some stuff we all do together, too.

Is it equivalent to grade level. Mya daughter is starting 6th grade public school. So not sure which level to get. Is is a little behind
@gracefilledday26963 ай бұрын
I am not sure, but Rod & Staff goes by grade levels and not just levels. So, I would say their grade level. To be honest, a lot of English and grammar are repeated every year in public schools. Rod and Staff English is very much this way.

My student had ADHD and thus far we have used ACE. Does this help them grasp the concepts better?
@gracefilledday26967 ай бұрын
I can't speak on ACE compared to Rod and Staff English, but Memoria Press Simply Classical has been voted to be one of the best homeschool Curriculums for students with special needs. I believe she chose Rod and Staff English because of the repetition. Children with ADHD, dyslexia, etc. All do better with lots of repetition. 😉
