Great explanation. However, this is the same issue Race Inc ran into by incorporating “modern technology” to retro/old school bikes. Love these Torkers and I will be buying/building another one. Stay rad!

I am in love with my EK 20 and very excited for the new stem to come out so I can throw that on it!! Now I have to buy another bike in the next batch to run the 1 1/8 stem that I have on it now! I see what you did there and I’m not mad about it 😂😉 Stay RAD🤙🏻

No problem. Shorten the stem quill tube as necessary. Five mins work with an angle grinder and a file. Easy. Strong fork with proper old school look.

I would just grind down the stem wedge nut on the bottom. People are whiners sometimes. A tapered steer tube is awesome!

Mongoose did the same thing way back when. My quill stem won't go all the way down into the original fork on my 1984 Californian. It encounters resistance when there's still about an inch or an inch and a half of the stem shaft showing. That happens with the original SR stem and with a similar 1980s Sugino stem that I have. I believe the fork was actually made by Tange for Mongoose. I have another bike with an Akisu fork, and the SR stem I use with it won't go all the way down into that either, but it goes down a little farther than in the Mongoose fork. When I was a kid I had cheap department store BMXs (e.g., Murray, Western Flyer), and a stem would always drop all the way into those with no resistance at all. I guess the people who are complaining about your fork want one that's made like a department store BMX fork.

Rad fork, might pick one up for my oldschool Akisu MX-1 build. How about tapered headtubes and forks (1 1/8" to 1 1/4") for all disciplines of new-school BMX?
