When we look at history every time we see empires like the Macedonian Empire, we always think about how short-lived they were, I mean 35 years is nothing compared to other empires or kingdoms, but then I think about the people who lived in those empires, and 35 years start to seem very long. Imagine if you lived in an empire right now that has been around since 1990, now it seems a bit longer, right? Great upload!

Alexander's Macedonian empire completely changed the course of history as we know it, Alexander himself and his direct rule may have lasted for nearly no time at all in the grand scheme of things, but his successor states would continue to rule basically the entire civilized world outside of asia for centuries afterwards, completely transforming the cultures and civilizations that they did; all while doing away with Persian control of the areas.

To be fair; the successor states of Alexander could be considered empires in their own right, especially the Seleucid's which went on to survive for a very long time.

Interesting video. But there is an interesting fact: Under Burebista, the Dacian Kingdom became an empire for 38 years. It disintegrated after Burebista was assassinated in 44 BC. His empire extended its territories from west modern day Eastern Austria (including Vienna) to east the greek colony of Olbia (modern day Odessa) and from north modern day Czech Republic (Bohemia) to south the border between Bulgaria and Turkey. It's worth mentioning it Bulgarian Empire Mapping.

Speaking about Macedonian Empire. Son of Alexander the Great was born couple weeks after his father death. Also there were two Kings of Empire. Son of Alexander and halfbrother of Alexander. Who "ruled" as Philip III. He was however mentally disabled so he was merely pawn of his wife and regents.

Yes I tried to simplify that and the diochi wars as they would take way too long to explain. Yes at first there were 2 distinct factions one supporting Roxana and her son and the other alexander's half brother.

Great video!Tho I have to emphasize that Serbian Empire lasted way less!It lasted from 1345-1371.The Empire started in 1345 with then King Dusan proclaiming himself a Tsar of Serbs and Romans, and ended with the death of his son Uros with the nickname "The weak".That's where the Tsar's liniedge ended. Then as u said after the Hungarian defeat at Mohac,Jovan Nenad proclaimed himself the Dusan's successor, tho there is no evidence he is one. It's called a "second Serbian Empire" but in reality it was a rebel faction in weakened Hungarian Kingdom. It is not a linear continuetation of Serbian Empire. Nonetheless great video, just keep uploading.👍

problem is time from 7th to 10th century. 760-842 at the map . you see as that empty area in the Balkans, that was Serbia. In ww2 both enemies and allies bombed Belgrade. Allies stroke national library and entire Serbian history was lost, thats why all think we Serbs have exagurated history. Nevertheless foreign sources say we fought against the Frankish empire and that there was genocide of Serbs in Germany. That was the time Croatians emerged and 1000 years later those Croatians commited genocide in ww2, just like the map of begining of video.

Well yes, but he did have a capital, a standing army, and fairly many of the institutions, also the church stood with him, and it was the Serbian Patriarchate after all, so that does give out some imperial juristidictions to be fair? He is a self-proclaimed emperor, but also was Tsar Stefan Dusan until the pope confirmed his imperial status, it is a interesting topic nevertheless, he did bring the idea of Vojvodina and the northern region in united Serbia making him a key role in the Serbian National Agenda, and a interesting persona.
