Speaking of ghostbusters, I heard that when filming the scene where the stay puft marshmallow man exploding, Dan Akroyd wanted to be coated in extra cream (shaving cream was used to simulate melted marshmallow during filming)

3:28 apparently Mattel had a number you could call if any slime from the Masters of the Universe Slime Pit set stained the carpet. Supposedly if you called it, you could arrange for someone to come and replace the carpet for you, possibly at Mattel's expense.
@HauntLich Жыл бұрын
That would be pretty crazy if true, I'm sure it would cost a fortune for Mattel.

The king has returned- you're one of my favorite small KZbinrs right now, I just got done re-binging through your stuff like 3 days ago and was worried we wouldn't get any more videos. Glad to see my fears were unfounded!

I was just going through a "phase", the phase is over and content is returning.

In the Making of John Carpenter's The Thing one of the effect artist said they used ton of Mayo, Strawberry jam, foam latex and K Y Jelly Lubricant. K-Y is a water-based, water-soluble personal lubricant.

Lmao, holy crap! I just realized how 80s influenced I am, just watching this. Writing a fourth book, and I have a character who got omniblasted, drowned and necrotic rotted to the bone by...a forest blight that has taken the shape of sickly green slime! 😂

Dude the 80s slime LIVES in our mind, glad to see even modern authors still incorporate it!

Avoid black slime it hurts your soul. That's a ghostbusters reference.

Yup, that was roughly going to be my guess... Astroglide (or the generic equivalent) being used specifically in Alien, and the pop culture phenomenon that movie became.

It makes me abundantly aware of how slippery that frickin alien probably was

@@HauntLich I wouldn't be surprised, what with the symbolism of it being a baby... it makes sense that it would be difficult to keep any sort of control over for long.

I feel like another slime realted thing that comes to mind is Venom, as they are a character from the 80s or at least late 80s and he's made of cosmic black goo and his host Eddie pretty much wears a living suit made of that stuff same with Spidey before that, but it's done in a way that makes it less gross and more cool in a sense.

Even we ourselves spawned from our father's 80's slime, Haunt. It was just the nature of reality back then.

Back in the day my chemistry teacher told us to create something using a chemical process, I wanted to make slime so I googled it... The results showed borax and glue so I went to a jewelery store to buy the borax and the guy in the shop asked why me (a 16 years old I'm 27 now) wanted fucking borax so I just told him and he looked at me as if I was retarded. The thing is after mixing everything at home I ended up with not slime but some kind of bouncing ball I don't know how the fuck I made that but it was kind of funny
