I'm so happy I was shy and quiet as a teenager. I can't imagine ever having a drink or doing any kind of drug. So many bad decisions are made at that age, sometimes they're funny stories, scary 'I shouldn't be alive' stories, and sometimes it's the end of your very life. Sad in any way. The true crime KZbinrs weren't the only reason this case got so much attention. It was also because of how much money and time that law enforcement used and still didn't find her. A KZbin search and recovery team did it in like under an hour of being there.

I feel like that’s more so the reason, the ineptitude of the police department’s handling of the case. Honestly, I’m still not 100% sure it was/wasn’t more than just a horrible accident. Another reason is because one of her “best friends” was on all these channels with her ever changing story along with a couple of the others and they were swearing she would never drive drunk and she knew the roads like the back of her hand, etc. Then the tow truck driver supposedly went to the police with a video of her and all that, that’s another reason. I feel like a lot of people were involved in creating this story blowing up, not just the true crime YT’ers.

Nothing new. Now the main cause of death for late teens and young adults in the USA (at least where I lived before I left) was drugs but like a decade or two before, it was automobile accidents. Mostly it's drinking, drugs, and/or being distracted by others, music, phones etc. Not sure how to change it, we've had these kinds of stories and 'scared straight' experiences forever and still it claims so many lives @@m.e.c.1007

UK had something similar earlier this year. The lady was called Nicola Bulley. She "disappeared" out walking her dog but had in reality drowned in a nearby river. Asshat youtube channels where saying her husband murdered her etc. Took a while to find her. One asshat even went digging in a nearby campsite looking for her body. Its a sad world we live in sometimes.

I haven't heard or even recalled this incident that occurred on one of my favorite fishing grounds. I been been camping, fishing and boating/swimming on that reservoir for 20+ years. I just learned about this from watching Lamont's story vlog about this 16 year old Truckee girl accident. Lamont only does facts only and no other BS on all his channels. I seen many other KZbinrs cover stories and it all ranges from conspiracy to murder and kidnap and the list goes on. The investigation shown no "foul play" nor any signs of cuts or bruises on her body even at the rate of body decomposition stages it was in. It has been almost 1 year and a half and still the stories continue on. The water levels on that reservoir changes as you can always tell seeing the shorelines. When AWP discovered Kiely's vehicle in 14 feet of water that water could of been easily 5-6 feet fuller back on August 6 making her vehicle in 20+ feel of water. RIP Kiely Rodni.

A few teens at the party stated Kiely was drunk. Autopsy showed she was not drunk. This is likely why no adults were questioned about the alcohol purchased since despite what the teens stated, the autopsy found something different so no one could be held accountable for drinking being the cause of the alleged accident. No one really knows if she drove into the water or why that’s why YT channels still cover the case. It’s a tragic mystery. No CHP report released yet… over a year later.

I am not a medical professional. I am simply a commenter on a YT video sharing my personal opinion. I suggest you study medical journals on the role of postmortem toxicology in drowning investigations and you will likely find via a complex process using multiple samples from various fluids, tissues, and organs indicators of substances used by deceased people prior to their death including alcohol can be determined. In Kiely’s case there was no scientific evidence showing she was intoxicated. That much we agree upon. The only “proof” of intoxication was from a couple people who claimed to be intoxicated at the party & see Kiely getting intoxicated… so they are not reliable witnesses to say the least. The fact is no one really knows exactly how she died but when a person is found deceased in the water even with no water in their lungs if no other cause of death is detected, then a death by drowning is documented. The only people saying Kiely was drunk driving are YT content creators sharing misinformation not law enforcement & not main stream media - why? Because there is no proof Kiely Rodni was intoxicated while driving prior to or at the time of her death.

It’s easier seven done it’s probably pitch black underwater and she’s drunk disoriented when the car landed. It landed upside down with the roof on the bed of the reservoir. Even if the driver side window was down again remember all of the factors that I said before. My guess is that she tried to get out by, the back of the car but at the end of the day, we don’t know what happened. There’s no foul playing in the situation. It’s unfortunate. She probably couldn’t get out. Didn’t know where she was which was up and which was down.

Thanks Lamont for sharing this tragic incident that took place in this area. I'm a avid fisherman and camping and boating person that has visited this park for many years. We had a family and friends camping there at that location on the 4th of July weekend back in 2022. That area where this accident occurred and surrounding shorelines is my favorite spot to fish. I don't recall this tragic incident till I seen your vlog a few weeks ago. I was there fishing last Summer in that area as was overwhelmed how the waters has receded. I did see that memorial there but thought it was a boating/swimming accident?. The time we where there back in July 2022 water was fuller and later I seen some videos of other KZbinrs of their story on this a month after this tragic occurred and the water was receding then. RIP Kiely.

Her autopsy report said that there was barely any alcohol in her blood, also when people pass the body makes alcohol naturally while it decomposes. Lamont if you're interested in looking at the report, go to plunder her page got the report. I was so upset while this was going on and what happened. I just think that it's odd that the police didn't find her. When adventurers found the vehicle in 15 minutes, the water was so clear too. I hope she's in peace right now. RIP Kiely

I think the spin on this story was due to the news media,the police,and the search team that brought their own equipment and found her vehicle. Authorities said they searched that part of the lake and didn’t find anything but that private search organization went to exact spot as authorities did and got a hit. It wasn’t just true crime influencers putting a spin/conspiracy theory. They were just compiling everyone’s evidence(search teams,authorities findings,and interviews)into one story.

Her “best friend” was more than happy to hop on all the True crime channels with her ever evolving story along with a few others who were all swearing she had never driven drunk nor would she ever and talking about how she knew the roads like the back of her hand and could drive them with her eyes closed, etc. They are the ones who should bear the majority of the responsibility for Keiley’s story blowing up like it did. Oh, and the tow truck driver who allegedly helped Keiley and a young man who looked like her ex, wearing the same baseball cap he had on in some of their pictures, and she was acting terrified of him. All of these people plus the internet all came together to create the perfect storm. It was certainly not just the TC YT’ers who made the details so sensational, it was everyone; including those of us who watched these channels because we were legitimately concerned about a missing 16 year old child. I was devastated when “Adventures with Purpose” came in and found her in less than one hour….I mean, two weeks of police, search and rescue, and many others looking for her or any sign or evidence of her and they dropped the ball horribly. Their press conferences and ineptitude is what actually started pouring fuel on the fire. I feel like these TC YT’ers are getting all the heat and hate when there’s plenty of others who are just as deserving and more so.

I remember when the dive team AWP found the vehicle, they mentioned that it could have been more than an accident based on their inspection of the vehicle prior pulling the vehicle out. However, at t the end of that video they mentioned it was not deemed a homicide once they pieced together the story. There was no factual evidence suggesting such. Sad either way. Very young to go out that way. Condolences to the family.
