Thanks Christian. Another great lesson to close out the year. I always had trouble adjusting my white balance until a while ago when you showed us the method of aligning the RGB colours in the histogram. That has made my edits so much better. I wish you all the best in 2025.

Always enjoy your videos a lot, and learn a lot. You have a very nice way of presenting, not too slow and not too fast. You always tell what you are going to do and why and demonstrate it in such a way it is easy to follow. Thanks !

I , ex German, living in Australia giving you another thumbs up. My brother sent me Winter pictures from Achensee in Ö this week and they all have this strong blue tinge. But sadly iPhone jpeg pics. They are very nice compositions so I will try to fix them for him, if possible.

Good tutorial indeed. Slighty off topic: I would have cropped into 16:9 in order to get rid of the boring ice in the bottom of the photo. Somehow I think this would even make it look better.

Hi Christian, brilliant video like always, I had a question about the last video though, in the thumbnail(of the previous video) you show a rough plan about where do you want to brighten or darken, which patches, so my question is, how do you decide or plan this out, and do you have any video explaining this process ? Do you have a plan for every image you edit ?
@samelogio74413 күн бұрын
That is a great question. I would love to know the answer to that too.

That is a great question, i.e., what preplanning is done before sitting down in front of the computer. Too often I open and just start hacking away with no determinable end result in mind.

Thank you very much for the comment and the question! Usually, I have somewhat of a plan what I want to do with the image when editing. I want to focus the viewers eye on a particular area and most of the times I do this by making OTHER areas darker and the important parts brighter. BUT I also play around with light trying to create shadows to add depth and kind of leading lines by adding light. This works great with hills as an example as I can make the bottom or the top of a hill darker (depending where the light is coming from). Although I do have a very gerneral plan on what I want to do, most of the more specific changes come after editing several versions of the same image, until I find something that looks good to me! I hope this makes sense, but I will also try to make a more specific video on this topic!

Thank you for the information. I have only edited the same image once or twice. Now I know I am stopping to early and need to do more. A great goal for 2025. I have started setting the histogram for WB in several recent edits and have enjoyed the new end results.

Hey Christian - do you ever SHIFT + double click the Blacks and Whites (the word next to the slider) as a base point? I often find it helpful
@ThePhlogPhotography2 күн бұрын
Hey, I knew about the shortcut, but I think I dont ever use it because I'm just too used to my workflow :-)
