Great review but God, were you insistent with the Taylor mentions. It feels somewhat reductive of Charli's artistry to constantly, forcibly exclaim the need of another artist's perspective on her songs, her music, her album. Especially when she and Taylor do not have a good relationship or have ever showed musical synergy. Just my two cents, but by the time you got to I think about it all the time I was annoyed to bits by this.

I'm actually going to address this comment (and others like it) in my Kesha review coming up.

it's interesting because I love the caroline polacak remix the most. I believe the remix is perfect reinterpretation. The first one was about how everything is romantic how even the weird stuff in life. But now Charli is asking if living this life is still romantic now that she literally has everything. What stays is the romanticising of normal life and caroline's lyrics are so captivating. But the remix deepens the first meaning. The first one is vacation kind of vibe, here everything is romantic and the remix is you trying to romanticise the life you have. I also find the whole song absolutely beautiful and i did cry to it.

The Taylor pushing is so unnecessary. I understand you enjoy her lyricism but I would prefer a myriad of other artists to dream about being on this album than her. Nothing between those two worlds getting together makes me think of good music, chemistry or even good vibes. I don't think Charli thinks of her as much as you think she does :/ other than that interesting analysis as usual

Loving the night lighting. It's like in those old nintendo games where the city would change if you played at day or night. It's like your previous brat review, but it's different but it's still a brat review.

regarding the yes/casablanca thing-- the piano in the original version, even though it was credited to Herbie Hancock, reminded me of owner of a lonely heart from the very moment I listened to it, so I thought expanding the reference in the remix was expected and even obvious. my reaction was like "aha there it is!" when it came up. maybe not crediting yes was a just a slip and they'll eventually do it? (don't know how these things work to be honest.) AVAA!

AVAA I thought it was interesting you brought up Charli starting a record label because she already did in 2016 with Vroom Vroom Recordings, their first release was her EP with songs produced by Sophie and A.G. Cook. However, they don’t seem to have released anything since 2020. It could be interesting to see if the success of brat could lead to something bigger for her or if that whole experience contributed to her frustration with the music industry.

The sympaty is a knife with ariana made me sad because it was shallow? The line about being so pretty they don't believe it sounded more like a weird flex than being vulnerable. I did like the line about dissecting her body on the front page. That has to be hard for her.
@jkoreosrockАй бұрын
this line is referring to how ppl keep saying she has had plastic surgery (face lifts) even hough she has no had that done
@kackareznickova5431Ай бұрын
@@jkoreosrock em yeah i understand the lyric. I just feel it's not a good way to say it. "It's a knife you're so pretty you must be fake." How is it a knife? What hurts you? That you are so pretty? If she said something like "it's a knife when they don't believe that you're not fake." I could be like yeah it has to be uncomfortable when people don't believe you even if you are saying the truth. But her wording made is weirdly shallow. Like: It's so horrible i'm just so so pretty you dont even believe i am not fake. And the thing is celebrities were denying plastic surgery for decades now. I just don't believe she didn't do anything, not because she is so pretty but because she looks a tiny bit different than she looked and that's not a bad thing. I don't think she's "fake" I think she was beautiful and she made few tweeks and still is beautiful.
