I dont think Khabib realizes that he speaks english very well and that it is very easy to understand what he says and means. It is refreshing to hear Khabib speak in interviews

Liking Mac wasn't hard at first. The athlete Conor was impressive, the way he burst onto the scene. But Conor as a human being is hard to find things to like. I've never been a fan but I definitely was impressed by his wins.

Sure, but expressing yourself isn't only about being raw. Some things require subtlety and detail. Khabib is also intellectual and spiritual.

I am not a speaker of Khabib's native language. But from hearing a few other very intelligent minds speak who are fluent in his native language, from what I have gathered, it is much more descriptive. It have many more ways of describing thoughts than English can provide. ?

I can speak a few languages well enough to order meals, ask directions, arrange for services and everyday life, but not well enough to express complicated emotions or describe things in very particular detail. He (Khabib) just needs to expand his vocabulary and he will get there. he's got a decent start already

Half of the guys in the UFC sound worse than khabib, it's not his "informal" english that is the problem. It's about geting asked some delicate questions or political ones, he doesn't want to be remembered as the funny guy with broken english

@@raven2dove Yoel had a translator and he didn't come off the way he would in spanish. Khabib is so much more eloquent in Russian. It's night and day. To the general english speaking public, he'll come off a lot less intelligent speaking in English than he does in russian. Imagine if you had to do an interview in spanish or in a language you weren't proficient in and the whole world gets to grade your intelligence based on that interview. You might come off stupid because of the limited vocabulary.

I think he just wants to improve his vocabulary. His answers in English is limited by his vocabulary. Khabib's answers to questions in Russian show a lot more depth and insightfulness.

"I have to connect with people in English, not only in Russian" ...this is a man who understand the game outside the octagon too. So many non English speakers get over looked by fans and because of that they get overlooked by the UFC. It's prize fighting, you want the big prize? You need to sell yourself... and not just to your own people... to the biggest paying audience which just happens to be English speakers.

He mixed up the culture of Saudi Arabia with Islam, telling for example honor killings and prohibiting women from driving are islamic things. But mainly because of his guests who are misinforming Joe when it comes to Islam. And of course he won't talk smack about Islam in front of Khabib, my point is that I think that Khabib is going to refer to one of these podcasts to make Joe rethink a lil bit.
