Why won't my new skin appear when I enter a match? (FOAMSTARS)

I just got a brand new DLC skin for Penny Gwyn (Red Judgment), but when I enter an online match the skin won't appear in-game, and instead just switches back to her default skin... What's happening? Is this a glitch or something?
BTW in case anybody's wondering why I bought this DLC skin in the first place (as this game has some rather questionably expensive microtransactions), recently a friend gave me a PlayStation Gift Card as a late Christmas gift (I haven't seen him in a while), and after I bought a couple games with it, I had some credit left on it, and I wasn't sure what to use it for, so I decided to get a skin in Foamstars. I think Penny Gwynn might be my favourite character, and I thought the Red Judgement skin looked pretty cool, so I figured why not?
