Thank you so much, brother! I definitely will! Can’t wait to have her back on the road but I really do think we’re getting close. Just a few more items I think. Luckily I think it’s all easy stuff to sort out once we get there.

This was a great video Bryce. Shilo is so sweet! Love her!!! (and you too) 🙂 Have you checked the resistor yet? When you switch to the Pertronix you probably won't need a resistor, at least I didn't with the HEI setup.
@EYE_SPIDERАй бұрын
Thank you so much, brother. I really appreciate it! I was able to check the resistor with Mongrels Garage as help and Oly’s Garage help. I think we’re definitely getting close. I definitely wouldn’t mind switching to a pet Tronic system.

Looks like you are having lots of fun with Morticia! A 12v coil should be fine as long as you are giving it ignition power through the ballast resistor on an ignition circuit. All the ballast resistor is made of, is a ceramic or fiberglass rod with generally a steel wire wrapped around said rod and then it is brazed or solder to the contact points. At a completely cold ballast resistor a majority there should be close to no resistance. Most multimeters will read 0.00 or OL. As that wire heats with current draw the resistance will increase. The resistance is determined by the wire size and length. 5v is a little low with mopar ballast resistors, usually you will see around 7-8v. Check to confirm there is no resistance in the ballast resistor when it is cold and no power applied to it. Also check your coil grounding circuit and the engine block ground strap or wire. I also saw on another one of your video where you were having issues with the starter engaging the ring gear where it is running in place. That is a starter solenoid issue specifically the solenoid on the starter that engages the drive gear. Usually they are gummed up with rust. You just have to pull the solenoid apart and clean the bore out and re grease all pivot points and some silicone oil on the solenoid actuator shaft. Hope this helps a little bit! I enjoyed the video!

Yo Bryce, run a jumper wire from one terminal to the other on that 12v to 5v ballast resister on your firewall (the white thingy). Then start the car. If it fires up, replace the ballast resister but be sure to get a 12V one. Also, check your coil like @OlysGarage stated below. If you have the 3 Ohm coil, disconnect the leads from the resister and connect them directly together bypassing the resister all together.

Thank you so much for the awesome feedback, brother. I’ll definitely have to try that! Sorry for the delay. I was on vacation last week. We’ve definitely been making progress. You’ll see on today’s video. We do get her up and running, which is awesome. I think we basically have a boil down to just the carburetor.
