Dear Mr. Murthy, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some thoughts on our current compensation structure. Many of us work diligently, often juggling multiple responsibilities, to make ends meet. The average salary falls within the range of 20-30k, making it challenging to cover basic expenses. Consider the breakdown: Rent (1BHK): 9k Electricity: 2k Petrol: 2k Groceries: 8k Milk: 2k School fees (1 child): 2k Medical insurance: 1k Family dinner (monthly): 2k This leaves a mere 2k in savings per month, amounting to 24k annually. While there is potential for a 5-9k hike, the average gold price has risen by 12-15% annually from 1971 to 2023. I propose a new approach to compensation. Instead of cash, consider providing employees with 5 grams of gold monthly. This adjustment could help us keep pace with inflation. Thank you for your consideration.

Let’s put it in this way - If you own a business and obviously have a drive to make it big then go ahead and work 70-140 hrs a week yourself. Otherwise if you are an employee of whatever rank then you should make your priority clear. Work life balance is also a thing if you haven’t heard. And one more thing to add then narayan murthy should know how infosys grew only because of hard working indian it employee. Similarly many other indian it companies like tcs, wipro, hcl, grew due to indians we hard working indian it engineer. Even american mnc invest in india because we indians work hard long hours and paid less salary as compared to our american counterparts. People like narayan murthy can exploit us because they know very well have a huge population and talent pool . If one employee goes they will next 100 employee wait for the same job. The quality of work will be same but they will expect thier employees to improve their quality of work.indian enterprenuner is intrtested in profit making . Most of the american companies invest in their in school and colleges for r n d. These things narayan murthy to suggest or try to implement.

The main problem is that the majority of people in India go for either engineering or medical and do not follow their passion and explore other fields. That's why they are not much motivated towards their job and see it as a burden or some task to finish asap. This is not completely their fault; it's a harsh but true fact that most of the other fields do not pay well, unlike in other countries.

Real growth will rise only when most people have some employment or contribute to the economy. 2. Do we expect stretching 70+ hrs and again giving in charity 50% in direct & indirect taxes? 3. After that you get off for certain interval. Enjoy your time. Get recharged and get back to your job again.

I agree to a large extent with Narayan Murthy. In my workplace, people come at 9 am and return home at 7 pm. Now formally speaking, that is already 60 hours a week. But out of this, many people spend first hour "warming up" by chitchatting while working. Then there's one hour lunch break and a small evening break as well. And even among the work hours, many people just roam around gossipping. Most of them finish their work at the last moment. I think you can guess how much productive they are and how much ACTUAL work they do out of 60 hours a week.
