WOT gives me a sense that there is a hidden hand at work always, making me miss shots, or my team or the other team miss shots, or shots not doing much when they do hit or just the opposite depending on the hidden hand. I never get that same feeling in WT. Plus I don't see a lot of 1942 tanks fitting 1960's tanks or even 1950's tanks. A Tiger still has a powerful presence to it in WT that is totally lost in WOT. WOT has to many "magical items" you can equip that can make you tank invisible, or faster or shoot faster or hit harder or all that at once that only folks with the 29,000 battles have who aren't supposed to need them in their already OP tanks. With a team of 4 of them on one side the match is over in less than 5 min. Everyone has the same stuff in WT for the most part and it shows. The matches are much more of a even game and fun. When I first started playing WT and didn't know what was what I could at least see who was shooting me and where they were and could back up or something. In WOT my first game I was hit like five times and never saw a tank on the enemy side even on the mini map, I died in like 3 sec into the match my first tier 3 game.

I'm F2P, never paid for a game or made serious ingame purchase. After few years of playing and way too many matches i reached tier X. In WT i got to top tier in 3k matches, and costs of tanks wasnt serious issue. While grinding i could save a lot of money. Thats fundamental mistake in WOT. You need to use premium ammo to pen a lot meta tanks and you lose big amount of money, even before buying tank you wanted.

The problem is that in the past 5 years almost no updates were made to make the game more fun. All additions are there to: 1. Made the game more addictive (not enjoyable. Addictive.) 2. Make us pay more. All the mechanics are basically copy and paste from top grossing mobile free to play games. Daily missions, ranked battles, shorter game sessions because of EBRs, gold ammo and simplified tank models, casino Christmas boxes all have one on common - they make you return to the game more often and spend more cash.

@WarClock172 the grind has been continually getting worse over the course of years, what they are doing now is too little too late. war thunder just isnt what it used to be, and it's mostly the fault of shit balancing, and a ridiculously compressed BR which instead of fixing, they continue to make the problem worse by releasing a newer vehicle every few months or so, alongside a 60 (now 70) dollar premium, they're just lining their pockets now.

I left the game as soon as the Chrysler GF was added into the game, that was the tipping point of the game going bad. Before that we had balanced premiums, at least most of them. The MM was flooded with a tank that had 175mm of pen with standard rounds and 250-ish with premium rounds. All while you can easily side scrape and have 300+ effective armor

Less tanks means everyone is more familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each tank, every tank had frontal weakspots and maybe not the low tiers, but the high tiers were ballanced. Exactly the opposite of what it is today. There are so many items, gadgets and unneccessary tanks in the game, you simply cannot have everything in your head anymore.

Yeah, the rng with accuracy is something I have beef with. I thought that once I got the most accurate gun in the game all of that would be behind me. I was proven wrong when trying to save a team mate from an M103 in my Grille 15. It's true that I never missed a shot on the M103 since all of the tank covered the outer aiming circle. I could not miss, but the game still found places for every single one of my shots to bounce... off an M103. It wasn't until the M103 beat my team mate that the game finally allowed my shots to go where I was aiming. "Thanks game, but it's too late. I've lost my spotter and I am not going to win against this guy once he get's to me." I wish the game gave me that kind of protection. "Go ahead, do as you please. You are untouchable in this match. I'm gonna fling the rounds of every opposing player absolutely everywhere." I am absolutely convinced that the game has decided which team will win as soon as it has put the teams together, and only every once in a while are you ever able to overcome the game's planning.

About maps: I feel like a few years ago when everyone complained Wargaming was just doing corridor maps, games were decided as soon as one of the corridors had been broken and the winning people from there surrounded the other corridors. Nowadays I feel like the pushing sides are death traps. Time and time again one side wins the engagement and then continues to push forward, just to be shot to pieces from a campy hill or bush location. Basically what I see most experienced people do is once they've won one flank they turn around to help the other side or base defense. Only the foolish players keep going and that creates those countless games where the main engagement was won and then a turnaround into a loss happened.

I stopped playing tanks when warships came out and have tried to jump on maybe three times to see if it changed and it has for the worse. They took the fact that a good arty player could either do decent damage or counter battery off the start and just made them a support unit to track people without doing much damage. Sorry, if you get hit by a 240mm shell, you are dead. It doesn't matter what tank you are in because that is coming down on the lightest armored portion of a tank. Take that along with the fact that gold rounds basically destroyed any amount of armor a tank had and the game failed its' players.

A cruiser should be sitting near an island, close enough to help the DDs but safe enough that they won't get hit badly by BBs. With all the aircraft modded ships (Ise, Tone, Kersearge, entire new cruiser line, etc.), they have removed that type of play. So now your cruisers need to be in open water to stay semi safe, which means they can't safely be close to the DDs to provide help and instead need to stay near the back by the BBs. The winning team will now be determined by who has the better DD player and that is it.

They didnt decompress any BRs at all, they moved a ton of 7.7 vehicles that didnt need to move, to 8.0 and 8.3. In a plane you are still likely to encounter next generation fighter jets and sometimes two generations ahead fighter jets against your supersonic jet that doesnt have any missiles or radar or counter measures at all, but this is somehow fair and balanced gameplay. When you see people flying premium mirages that can reach the enemy bases before the enemy themselves finishes passing over the bases, there is no balance in your BR. I genuinely believe that the USSR tanks that all got moved up .4 or .3 in BR was to stop them being able to kill the Maus. Ever since they added a few newer tanks to the USSR with better penetration, I see Maus' often getting destroyed quickly rather than soaking up all the APHE. Now it's back to how the Maus _was_ where it soaks up APHE and HEAT because only a very few tanks from _some_ nations get APFSDS at that BR.

I like your idea for buffing the losing team. In order to make this fair to the winning team, I propose that the experience/credits score muliplier of win>loss be changed to: win against buff>close win (no buffs)>win with buff>loss against buff>close loss (no buffs)>loss with buff. Also, any damage/kills caused directly by a buff (e.g. airstrike) should not add to a player's personal score. Therefore a player might refuse a buff if he thinks he can win without it.

@@racernatorde5318 You can EASILY grind MILLIONS of SL without premiums OR a premium account in War Thunder planes tier 3/4. Your performance ingame heavily impacts your gaining money aswell. In WoT, making millions of silver while not having a premium account and a premium tank is absolutely impossible. That's the main difference. Repair costs don't matter when you can make 40-50k SL in a single match in War Thunder by being good without a premium / premium vehicle. I have played both games and F2P WoT is so insanely difficult in comparison to War Thunder, I'm an average player wo premium whatsoever and NEVER struggled with Silver Lions in WT. Same cannot be said for WoT if I wanted to perform on the top 25% of the match. Loading gold 1/2 of the time was almost required to do consistently good in-game, which is a damn shame, as WoT would be an amazing game if these issues wouldnt be present. One time I did about 3100 damage in Tier VI (WoT) and lost money, the competitive game punishes you for being competitive, lmao.

I think I jumped the wot ship when WT introduced ground forces. Especially with being able to knock out people in one shot, and the fact that even lower tier vehicles still have a fighting chance because chances to cause spalling/over pressure against a higher BR vehicle. Learning weak spots was and is still important but situational awareness and being the first to fire means more and idiot higher tiers can’t just fall back on their better armor and larger hp pool. Also had a shitty 2005 giant dell laptop that gave 10 FPS and 100-300 ping depending so it often ended in me getting killed as soon as I ended up in a fight and that action caused lag. So I have a shit w/d % of 46-48%.

What killed me was the free gold ammo, it made every tank that relied on their armour to perform, moot. My favourite tank, the KV5 is an example. When I'm fighting t6 and below, Im pretty much invincible, as soon as gold ammo came in, I'm useless. I end up switching to french autoloaders, since apparently, "armour don't matter" when everyone is shooting gold.

Hello from CIS segment Some people from our clanwars-community know the EXACT person who balanced the 10th-tier Chieftan. It's Continental_Atlantic [WG], formerly one of the clan leaders. If u fight a type5 heavy with a s conq head on you deserve to lose(thats kind of the point super heavy vs mobile heavy), a s conq has so much more which a type 5 doesnt have, speed, turning speed etc. Heavies are no heavies anymore everyone can pen a type 5 heavy if you shoot prem there is not point in playing type 5 at all if prem ammo doesnt get nerfed.

True a 1v1 comparison doesn’t make much sense I think there needs to be a combination of pen and dmg nerf, credits isn’t enough of a drawback to shooting prem and making the pen significantly worse defeats the premium ammo purpose, it makes more sense to have 5-10%less dpm.

All chat and Overpowered AP and HE arty shells were the best... I still remember the day I used my tier 8 german arty 2000 (1500-2500) HE damage shell to oneshot a full hp tier 10 Type 57 heavy (2250 damage, got quite good RNG). Everybody was incredibly disgusted when it happened, both allies and enemies :D

@@dastardlyzfiend I sold my account on a local eBay analog in my country (OLX), but I was able to do that only because the site allows it, and because former soviet countries, mine included, have a big player base in both WoT and WoT Blitz, so it's not difficult to find an interested person. But in other regions (Europe, US, Asia, etc) WoT isn't so popular, so less people will want to buy the account. Also Europe and US have much stricter copyright laws enforcement, so sites like eBay may not allow selling like that

one of the weirdest moments I have had in wot was when I shot from like 400m away to a tank driving sideways and the shell landed about 50m short and I still damaged it. I even asked the guy for the replay and on both of our screens it wasn't even close

You should have mentioned the constant speed increase in the unbalanced team's list as a reason. They not only overbuff tanks in terms of guns, they did increase the speed of even heavies and TD's troughout the years...I remember how freaking slow the KV tanks were...Even the KV-3...It was a pain to drive and turn, but you HAD time to play... This applies to any tanks. A quick fix would be like 30% nerf of all tanks. Another reason that the battles are fast and everybody pushing like crazy is the reusable consumables. In the past players were careful because if you wasn't you got a punch for no reason and were forced to play the whole rest of the battle with a broken engine, or broken gun. Yet another reason is making credit farming crazy easy with all the boosts and stuff. You can increase your credit income with fancier prem. tanks, events + boosters + clan boosters + platoons. This also encourages all and everyone to load gold and we already made a whole cyrcle. On the other hand we shouldn't think quick winning teams in games shouldn't be allowed and encountered somehow if that happends...It's part of the game. What WG should do is balance the tanks, their speeds, pen, damage, the maps, their game...That would prevent that...It worked in the past so what are we really talking about? Anyways nice points!

WG's decision to keep defending prem ammo as being "balanced" while at the same time making it the only viable ammo at all, and the addition of broken prems is what got me to quit about 1.5 years ago, and I have not regretted it for a single day. I only played WoWs after that untill they started doing the same with Carriers and soon Submarines. I can safely say I am glad I quit WG games, I feel far less frustrated playing games these days. Oh btw, No I don't play WT and will not play THAT disaster ever again, cuz not even WoT is that bad an RNG fest. No hp? Fine. Getting killed by a triple richoted '50 cal round thru the drivers top? Apperently also fine and historically accurate. KEKW

As well as looking up to favourite CCs and listening to their words carefully can be interpreted as basic psychology too. Idols can have huge impact on followers (consider religions in general). If no-one spent so much money anymore they have had on the game, the profit taps would be closed for wg leading them to an uncomfortable situation. That's what we need to achieve.
