What do you do about your pets? We have 2 dogs, 1 big and 1 little, and don't want to leave them behind. What have others done?

We have a dog now that we picked up in Panama while we lived there. It does make life a little harder, but we love her! So now we have housesitters stay with her while we travel. And this year we'll be getting a car and taking her with us as we roadtrip Europe.
