I would love Pastor Duane to talk about walking in purity and trying to please God with our actions and thoughts in this evil, perverse world were they have made sin acceptable and even cool in most peoples eyes. Most people believe that grace is a ticket to sin in the name of tolerance and love.

I can appreciate the desire for the GIFT of tongues, but as scripture states, we should know it is a GIFT that not everyone has and, the gift of prophecy should be sought after above all other gifts. Scripture addresses the reason for this is a bodily edification, not personal edification. Nowhere does scripture teach the need to "learn how to speak in tongues", nor does it direct it to be taught. This has been the cause of alot of chaos and hysteria in the past. Scripture clearly lays down guidelines for those who do have the gift of speaking in tongues (Paul clearly states that not all have that gift) and like all gifts, it should be exercised in an orderly fashion and only when non-believers are NOT present.

Please read 1 Corinthians 14: Paul speaks of his desire that all might speak in tongues in 1 Corinthians 14:5; he does not say they need to or that they do, but that he desires all that cannot would, that they might in speaking it "edif[y] themselves" (verse 4). He continues to speak of the guidelines as mentioned to continue to edify in order not chaos. According to Jesus in Mark 16:17-18, speaking in 'new tongues' is one of the signs of a believer: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

@@WBFtv I am aware. Unfortunately, you have misinterpreted that passage. It does not coincide with the remaining chapters on the gifts of the Spirit. In particular, when Paul clearly shows that not all have the same gifts. Keep up your studies and you'll get that.

Speaking in tongues is speaking other languages for the purpose of preaching the gospel. People think that a single touch of a finger they go falling to the ground and speaking gibberish means speaking in tongues. Biblically incorrect

Please read 1 Corinthians 14:2-5 "For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[b] but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues,[c] unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified."
