Lets be honest the KDH transfer was a master class when Gallagher is out of the door this summer. Reports are Connor got offered what other top midfielders earn at the club. Thats 160k - 170k. JDH is on 60k/week. So we sve 100k/week for 6 yrs compared to KDH. So 100k * 52 *6 = ~31mil. How much we paid for KDH? 30mil right, right? So he pays for himself over the lenght of his contract. How much we get from selling Gallagher in pure profit? About 35mil? So a free and better replacement AND 35mil in pure profit. Credit were credit is due. Sometimes the Directors getting things done the propper way for the club.

LewisG, I think for him it will come down to the realization that "Oh Crap Romeo IS WorldClass", I can't beat him out of a regular spot. Also, Trev hasn't been sold yet so we are both still on the for sale shelf. He would prefer to stay but he's still waiting and watching but time is running out. He will eventually make a decision. To be fair, getting offered a 2 year contract while everyone around you is coming in with 6 year contracts is a bit odd. Pretty much shows me that they're getting Connor on 2 more years so they can sell him next season. Honestly, I don't think he suits maresca's system, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be given the chance to adapt. It reminds me when people thought Giroud was surplus to requirements under Sarri, but he ended up being one of our most influential players after he got used to Sarri's system.
