@@vincentvangogh8092 you have to be careful with these kind of takes. These fighters don’t just wake up one day and decide they want to brake their contracts, don’t be so simple minded. These promoters have expert lawyers that write contracts in a specific way which make contracts very difficult to leave without being sued. Don’t for 1 second think these boxers don’t just get exploited while jeopardising their health for money.

I don’t think that’s a reason for him to retire, he doesn’t box to please his fans, he boxes for himself. But, as a fan who’s also been made a fool of, I completely get how you feel. If he can’t box better than that, then he should retire just for his own health. I think turning up less than an hour before your fight was a huge error, and I don’t think he was ready. If he sorts the mistakes he could do better, but styles make fights and this will always be a tough fight.

I think AJ feels confident if his opponents are intimidated or don’t expect themselves to win. But way before this fight Daniel showed AJ that he wasn’t intimidated in the least. In fact, Daniel said ‘I’m going to knock you out’ and then went out and did it. I think as a boxer, AJ knew that Dubois wasn’t intimidated by him, and so he lost one great benefit to the fight- the fear in his opponent. And when a young guy 27 and 250lbs with big power is coming at you to destroy you and nothing you can do will stop him or put him off the job. That mental strength of Dubois would have intimidated AJ. Okay AJ made mistakes. But Daniel was SUPERB in there. That timed right hand under such tense circumstances was incredible.

I don't get the wild extremes of opinion about AJ; we know what he is. He's a really talented boxer with loads of power, but he's a bit of a glass cannon, and although he can sometimes take a decent shot, once he's hurt he takes quite a long time to get his legs back under him. So when things go well and he doesn't get hit with anything too damaging he looks incredible, and when he does get clipped he looks awful. I don't think any amount of confidence etc. is going to change that, and it's fine; he's really, really dangerous and could potentially beat anyone if he manages to rattle off one of his filthy combinations, but he doesn't have the resilience of a Fury or whoever to bail him out of bad situations, and that's always going to mean he's inconsistent.

I don’t believe AJ should walk away from boxing. He’s a fighting man. Johnny Nelson said it himself AJ is one of the biggest draws in boxing. There are still 2 or 3 big fights out there for AJ. I’m sure he’d love to fight Tyson Fury that would still be a big fight. AJ does a lot for charity the more money he has available the more he’s able to do, that can only be a good thing. He’s still young why should he walk away from the job he loves anytime he has a bad day at the office. It’s heavyweight boxing correct some mistakes and that fight could have gone completely differently.

Mike Tyson always makes a statement that will never be forgotten! There is something about AJ that we expect so much! It's his talent, don't get me wrong he has achieved soo much in the sport but he could have really hit transcendent heights just like an Ali. He has everything but it's a slight mental block. The sport of Boxing is tough and brutal and the preparations and the work that is put in we on the outside have no idea! Most of us wanted AJ to win and it was a tough pill to swallow because of what he has done for British Boxing and in general! I hope he wins the next 3-4 fights and ends his fabulous and exciting career and a high note with all his faculties intact! For Daniel Dubois the future is bright and it is well deserved.
