The irony of the Jedi Code is that it's actually not so much the will of the Force, as it is the subjective views of the Jedi masters who wrote the Jedi Path, which were insightful, yes, but not infallible. So Yoda being so dogmatic with the Jedi Code was in and of itself misguided. And Yoda dealing in absolutes reminds me of that one time when Obi Wan himself said, "Only a Sith deals in absolutes." I have been complaining to friends that Luke’s allegiance to the Jedi code of forbidding attachments makes no sense. It was clearly his love for his father that redeemed Anakin in the end, and Luke’s strong bonds with Han, Leia and the others ultimately helped him defeat the Empire. He said that "avoiding or repressing your shadow" would just lead to problems, and that the "right solution" was that you need to "integrate your shadow" - stop being ashamed of those bad parts of yourself, learn to control them, and learn when and how to use them when you need them. "Ezra Bridger is one of the force weilders who will learn to "bridge" the gap between light and dark and find that balance" That's not how the force works. Balance is to be found in the light side, but it's hard, because it's not supposed to be easy to find balance in life. The dark side only offer an illusion, to lure you and feast from your flaws. Dark side offer raw power. You'll be the strongest man in the galaxy in no time, but it will destroy you. Light side offer balance, but you'll have to be worthy. You'll cultivate your strenght to reach that balance. It will be hard, failure will be met, but perseverance will be rewarded. Maul tale is one of tragedy. He never accomplished anything. He was taken from his loved one and manipulated by Palpatine, to bring death and pain upon the galaxy. Left on his own, he only seek revenge. From Kenobi, from Palpatine. In his path, only destruction can be found. He killed countless innocent to hurt other, destroyed civilisation, then ran one of the biggest criminal syndicate in the galaxy. In his quest, he only managed to loose his only friend, and in the end, he died, alone, no accomplishement under his belt beside the death and destruction he caused. Kanann Jarrus tale was also a tragedy. But his actions made a difference. He built something. He had a familly, with the Ghost crew and even more with her captain. He passed the torch of the Jedi order to Ezra. He saved countless live, even in his last moment. His action inspired other, to rebel against a brutal and tyranical governement. He wasn't the most important Jedi in the galaxy, he didn't get that much says in the event of the star wars galaxy, but he did his part, and it had a positive impact. Fear, anger, Jealousy, attachment were all taught in this manner with a fear of being corrupted by the Dark side. Anger Management classes taught me one thing important: You will always get angry and anger is a normal emotion (although it is generally a secondary emotion provoked by a fear of some type). It is what you do with your anger that matters and that is where the Jedi truly failed. Jedi should have been taught how to cope with their emotions instead of repressing them as a sin. A true Jedi that could cope with their own emotions would never fall to the dark side. No matter how much their enemies tried to make them afraid, or angry, a master of their emotions would always be able to overcome them by not giving into those emotions.

After seeing Boba Fett, seeing real Luke Skywalker, it breaks my heart seeing how it ends for him. Disney truly did harm Luke, making him a pathetic broken jedi. In truth, he was a beacon of hope and brought light to millions. But Disney made the iconic heroes irrelevant, especially Luke, and made theirs relevant (in their eyes). Disney should of based Episodes 7-9 around Luke Skywalker and the New Jedi Order.

Even though I know this will anger some folks, this is one of the main reasons I loved the Last Jedi so much. The writer/director refused to give in to the accepted mythos of Star Wars and forced the characters to ‘grow up’ and accept that failure is how we grow, not just looking like a bad ass but actually being one by doing what Luke did at the end of that movie.

Nobody can be perfectly light but the Jedi try to be The light side users follow the will of the force while the dark side users bend the the force to their own will using emotions Humans are naturally selfish and are not in balance but the Jedi don’t use their emotions and instead follow the will of the force selflessly to keep the world in balance by stopping dark side users Jedi can’t have attachments because otherwise they will value these over the galaxy they are trying to protect Luke is giving grogu a choice of if he wants to be a selfless jedi without attachments of if he wants to live his life with attachments The light and dark aren’t actual things but just different ways to use the force and the Jedi use the light mainly to counter dark side users

@@minerpvpgaming2160 most of the Jedi aren't human. Also humans aren't naturally selfish or humans being naturally selfish isn't the issue for Jedi. It's more about humans & other alien races have attachment which the Jedi see as bad as they can go to any extent for the things they are attached to. However, there is no way you can properly serve the galaxy if you have no attachment to it. That's why Yoda failed. He isn't attached to anyone or anything in the galaxy. Or he won't be quick to dismiss others and how they feel. He has no empathy because he has no attachment. He's a robot. Many people on the dark side think they are doing the right thing like Count Dooku, or Anakin. And Yoda cannot reason with them or prevent them from going to the dark side because they see only good and evil. Light and dark.

Awesome Video ScreenCrush! This is very insightful! My thoughts: In regards to Yoda and as well as the other Jedi ignoring the clues of the conspiracy of the true purpose of the clone troopers; I don't know how much or if any of the Jedi Code actually had an influence in the Jedi's mindset of choosing to be complacent about such clues, they may as well be just incompetent critical thinkers; but in any case, the Jedi's Dogmatic system of how a Jedi should be is still part of the reason why they fell in the prequel era, especially for Anakin. This is not to say that the Jedi's rules and dogmas are inherently flawed, if anything they may suit certain individuals who choose to follow it, but it's not for everyone - and this is one of the biggest problems of the Jedi Order because what the teachings of the Jedi Order believes to be 'the right way' may not always be 'the right way' for everyone else (Cobra Kai S04E10 is a good example of this). To me, one of the biggest messages of Star Wars is that at some point we should not blindly embrace dogmatic beliefs but rather we should deconstruct them and learn to self-actualise. - For if you were to embrace a dogmatic system or dogmatic beliefs due to being conditioned by them for most of your life or for other reasons, at some point you may experience certain impracticalities that will affect your overall self-stability; thus even concluding that the dogmatic right way may not seem compatible with you; and if you do conclude on that then you have to learn to self-actualise in order to find YOUR right way. - I think Qui-Gon Jin, Kanan Jarrus, Revan, and even the Mandalorian are the best examples of this (and possibly Luke Skywalker of Legends as well, but I’m not sure, I haven’t read the legend books of him beyond the Thrawn trilogy). What I think the new Jedi Order needs to be is that it should NOT teach dogmatic beliefs of how there is only one ‘right way’ to serve the force but rather it should teach the Jedi practitioners how to find their OWN right way to serve the force and as well to find their own right way achieve balance in their lives. I’ll now conclude be leaving these quotes: “Denying or attempting to utterly control emotion, Revan felt, was a fool’s game. Jealousy was actually the result of ill-prepared Jedi being overwhelmed by feelings they had never learned to face. Revan believed Jedi could be taught to use positive emotions like love and happiness to strengthen their connection to the Force in the same way that hatred and anger gave power to those who followed the dark side.” - The Old Republic: Revan - Drew Karpyshyn Depa Billaba: Describe what you feel, Caleb Dume. Caleb Dume: I have questions, master. Depa Billaba: Yes. That seems to be the natural state of your mind. But what of your heart? Caleb Dume: My heart is at peace. The truth is… I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. Depa Billaba: An odd statement, considering we are at war. Caleb Dume: Yeah. I know. This war has brought untold suffering to the galaxy, and yet… Depa Billaba: And yet you cannot help feeling glad you’ve finally found your place in it. Caleb Dume: Knew you’d understand. Depa Billaba: I do… But remember, Caleb, the universe is far from static… And as it changes, a Jedi’s role in it must evolve. You are comfortable among your comrades-in-arms… Commander Grey… Captain Styles… Even myself. But this war will not go on forever- nor will your apprenticeship. You must not grow too attached, too fond, too in love with life as it is now. Those emotions are valuable and should not be suppressed… But you must learn to rule them, Padawan, lest they rule you. Caleb Dume: Yes Master. - Kanan: The Last Padawan - Issue 1 “I’m coming to believe that we must all interpret the [Jedi] Code for ourselves,” Qui-Gon said, “or it ceases to be a living pact and becomes nothing but a prison cell.” - Master and Apprentice - Claudia Gray

I was so sure that “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker” was going to mean that Rey became a gRey, a Skywalker. Not that she’d take the name, that was as annoying as Han With No Friends Solo. The whole new trilogy should have been about the path to balance. No Snoke, no Palpatine, just Luke, Leia and Han and Rey, Ben and Poe fighting and finding their way to true balance. Maybe Ben survived and the whole diad thing meant that Skywalker’s always came in twos, like the Sith, one more dark side and the other more light side working together in balance.

We all saw it and knew it in the prequels but never delved into it because it was Vader's story, now we get to see it all in the forefront
