I've seen accounts blowing up like crazy and they don't have a single comment from my country somehow. On the other side I see accounts from my country with german audience and they basically make the same content but it is much harder for them to get consistent views than people who target other countrys. So, I tried it, and well, it's not working... I'm from Czechia so I ordered US sim card. Then I created fake apple ID and download tiktok. As he said in the video, I had the +1 number which means I'm considered as US resident. BUT. When I start uploading, my videos were doing extremely low numbers like 0-20 views even tho I had quality content and posted consistently. It's obvious that TikTok is blocking me. Also I can't follow anyone and the few views I get are from some russian users... So yeah. This is my experience so far, but maybe I'm just missing something....
