Bauhaus Color / Shape theory: According to Kandinsky, the color red lies between the colors blue and yellow and was therefore classified as medium warm. He assigned the basic shapes triangle, circle, and square to the primary colors yellow, blue, and red. Yellow was assigned to the triangle because the acute-angled shape was also perceived as warm. According to Kandinsky's theory, the more pointed the respective shape is, the warmer it is; and the more blunt the angle of the respective shape, the colder it is. The circular shape was therefore assigned to the color blue, since the circle has no angles and was therefore classified as a cold shape. The rectangle, not as acute as the triangle, but also not devoid of angles like a circle, was thus combined with the color red.

I was saving for a Nomos Club watch (California dial). Still, I used the funds to restore a 1965 Omega Seamaster Deville my father had found when we cleaned my mother's belongings when she passed away. This watch was given to him when my mother found out she was pregnant with me. Even though the restoration cost me a pretty penny, having a watch with such sentimental meaning, an Omega, and two different bands (one for dress-up and one for my casual days) is priceless. Having different watches and watch bands help your individual self show, and if lucky, that barista or person will ask you, "What's the story behind that watch?" One day, I will have that Nomos Club watch!

Absolutely! The watches I have that have gotten the most notice from strangers are brightly colored like my yellow Doxa Sub, my aqua marine Oris Aquis Clean Ocean while my Sarb033 and Tudor BB58 ( blue) has never been noticed by anyone except watch people.

I love Nomos. To take it a step further, Nomos isn’t just color for the sake of color. Or quirky for the sake of quirky. They really look good, with colors that stick out but work. They are really cohesive attractive watches that you don’t have to have watch Stockholm Syndrome to appreciate.

Great video guys. Nomos are amazing but personally I don't really think that wearing bright colors will certainly get you the compliments you want. As a more introverted person, I think the best way to get complimemts is to wear the watch you fell comfortable with and which suits your personality, that way, the people who will complement you will also connect with you on a deeper, more meaningfull way. Bought my sister a Club Campus for her graduation, and, although toying around with the idea, I never seriously considered to buy one for myself because I have A) others on my list that I prioritize to eventually own And B) still have the delusional dream that one day there will be a slightly smaller Weltzeit with some lume (no lume on GMT = no go). But gentlemen, your clip & message is brilliant. Everyone needs at least one watch in the collection they've bought for themselves. Not a status symbol, merely an investment or a watch they were told to buy, but the watch they longed for. Taste is an acquired thing. So it'll evolve as you educate yourself on watches, try and experience them. Like your watches for what they are. Wear them. They were meant to be worn. And taken care of from time to time. This is what love for watches is to me.

I have been in Geneva for the past week and everybody has a watch on. It may be something fancy or not so fancy, but that added expression is so appreciated coming from Boston and the sea of apple watches. Nomos is one of the few watch makers that I've considered having multiple watches from. I'm waiting for a Club Campus 38 orange with open caseback that should be ready to be shipped around May and I'm looking at Orions and Tetras for a future purchase way down the line. I think what they've done with the Clubs and Orions is way above the price tag, they pack so much value. Those waiting times though, those can be a bit discouraging for some people.

Just yesterday I received a NOMOS catalog, with the new update book. Could spend hours staring at the pages. Although the page with the Ahoi 40mm models has been bookmarked. The Ahoi in Siren Blue has me dreaming of another beach vacation. Being one with wrists that need a 40mm+ watch, I love how the NOMOS webpage list the 36mm versions as the "watches for delicate wrists" HAHA. Another interesting piece is that NOMOS sells ring sized sun dials. I am waiting on mine.
