Erratum: Quercetin is primarily lipid soluble and weakly water soluble. I have put it in an incorrect category.
Which Antioxidants To Use Together?
As we use antioxidants for aches and pains/inflammation we need to keep in mind the water or lipid solubility of the molecule. Let's review.

Amazing content, Doc! It reminds me of what I read in 'Health and Beauty Mastery' by Dr. Julian Bannett. That book uncovers hidden truths about the industry that totally changed my perspective.

This is extremely valuable and useful! Can you talk more on that topic? There is definitely a synergy between some vitamins/supplements but the opposite is true as well. In one study they saw life extension in two groups of mice that consume AKG and berberine, and then, when these two were combined- no effect whatsoever. Or with minerals. I just learned that taking mineral supplements after oatmeal is useless because phytic acid binds to metals and they lose their effect and action.

Did they not prescribe vitamin k and magnesium with your vitamin d? K and magnesium help transport the calcium from your blood into your bones, preventing toxicity from high vitamin d supplementation.

@@DrBeenMedicalLectures QUERCETIN.. ??? Is Quercetin DiHydrate ok BTW... "Ask your Doctor"" I would seriously doubt that most general doctors would have any idea about supplements.. Our doctor hands out Statins as a Christmas Bonus, and has NEVER mentioned Ubiquinol, or Vit B, despite my wife mentioning cramps.. On a really serious matter. TINNITUS... There are millions of us suffering Vax Tinnitus, and many want to take the ultimate fix. Is there ANYTHING that helps , or is it a case of TOO MANY causes. Slightly confusing w taking fat soluble vitamins b/c the body produces all the fat soluble vitamins needed. So if Vit E is taken in supplement form, then the body shuts down the production of Vit E, w no net gain. Yes to ur question of increasing our understanding of free radicals w their positive aspect in overall nutrition. Thx for ur generosity.

@agge4life

Excellent Video! I enjoy your KZbin videos immensely, and have a question that I haven't heard any health experts discuss in detail: Where's the threshold of too much antioxidants? So many promising compounds and so many studies showing the many benefits of reducing oxidative stress, and we do hear every now and then a health KZbinr say "you need a balance between oxidants and anti-oxidants", but no one ever talks about how to measure this. Many health conscious folks probably supplement with NAC, Astaxanthin, Vitamin C, E , EGCG, Omega 3 etc. How do we know if our anti-oxidant intake is actually causing more harm than benefits? Thanks!
@DrBeenMedicalLectures
@DrBeenMedicalLectures 8 күн бұрын
This is a great question. There's actually no data to understand when too much antioxidants are taken. I will present my thoughts here: if one of chronically inflamed then they will know that enough antioxidants are consumed when they feel less symptoms. For a healthy individually taking antioxidants; it's difficult to tell as the only outcome is body's reduced ability to fight pathogens. However, I will think that following observations can help guide the levels. A) observe how much unhealthy diets are consumed and adjust to that. Again no science for the amount. B) test CRP with and without antioxidants. This is why I believe that the redox status and CRP levels should be a six monthly test for everyone so that they can assess their diet and supplements' effect on inflammation.
@agge4life
@agge4life 8 күн бұрын
@@DrBeenMedicalLectures Thanks for your response! So are you saying that if too much antioxidants are consumed by a healthy person, that will reduce their ability to fight pathogens? I interpret your thoughts as there is very little consensus/data on effects of too much anti-oxidants, but there's a plethora of known _benefits_ with taking antioxidants. I know some antioxidants eg Vitamin C and E become pro-oxidants in certain situations, but NAC and Astaxanthin etc does not. Are there any reasons why most 45+ people should NOT take NAC, Astaxanthin and/or other powerful antioxidants? Keep up the great work!
@DrBeenMedicalLectures
@DrBeenMedicalLectures 8 күн бұрын
Great question again. Yes, too much antioxidants can reduce our immune system's ability to kill pathogens. Immune cells use reactive species to attack the invaders. Having said the above. People 40+ who have been on modern lifestyle and diet will benefit from antioxidants. This will help reduce the misfolded protein aggregates.
@agge4life
@agge4life 8 күн бұрын
 @DrBeenMedicalLectures 🙏 You did an incredible job in the video showing why one should take _both_ Aqueous antioxidants AND fat soluble ones, and you used the eample of Vitamin E and Vitamin C. However, I didn't hear (maybe missed) how to determine _which_ specific antioxidants in these two groups to choose? If the main metric is ROS scavenger efficiency, then eg Astaxanthin is ~6000x more efficient than Vitamin C, and also more efficient than Vitamin E since it neutralizes ROS in both lipid and aqueous phases. Are there other metrics or mechanisms determining which antioxidant to choose if one wants to keep the pill count down? Thanks!!!

Hey dr moybeen ….as far as I know I am healthy ..I am a very health conscious person ..I did my blood work and crp is normal ..I am wondering if you can overdo antioxidants from food …like I love purple cabbage and bought and blueberries and eat that daily as. We’ll take 15 mg zinc and take 3 ooo Ius of vitimin d a day my level when I checked was 43 ng/ml…I have a quarter tea spoon of turmeric in me coffee every morning and cinimon with cream and i also do intermittent fasting like anywhere 14 to 18 hrs depending on the day …I only take vitimin c if I sick which is Never except I got Covid in two thousand two …not jabbed really mild a day fever that it …I was wondering if eating too many crusiferous veg can cause this….I heared of thyroid concern but nothing else…I buy organic and if it is not I wash with baking soda vingar and warm water my cabbage and peel the outer leaves and throw them away before I wash the rest …..i check my family’s blood every six months and we are all healthy cbc kidney b12 liver markers iron crp vitimin d sodium potassium Ldh ..it all checks out….but I was just curious your thoughts on if you can overdo antioxidants from food….I use food as my source I only supplement with zinc and d just to make sure I not deficient and started that during pandemic and continue …just want to knle thoughts
