@@konstantinkaiser2383 There are many many stories. The most famous is the murder of Hannah Wetheridge and David Miller. The elite families there are untouchable and can kill whoever they want. Many tourists have been killed on Koh Tao.

@@konstantinkaiser2383 It’s a very dangerous island to visit. You can’t even ask anyone on the island about questionable deaths that have occurred there. People die there very often and it’s mysterious deaths. Since many travel there, the local government always blames the tourists, they won’t provide your home country with information and just claim you committed suicide. There’s podcasts with multiple stories about a lot of tourists found dead.

Best to avoid this place at all cost. Unless you want to end up like the previous backpackers. Stuffed into a concrete pipe or raped and murdered on the beach. With no justice for the victims. Please beware it is not safe.

100% I visited, and it's not safe. But don't take my word for it - look up the dozens of murders online - and then realise that that is the tip of the iceberg. A lot goes unreported

We spent 31 amazing days on Koh Tao in Sep 2001. A private bungalow in Chalok Baan Kao, motorbike, and all meals for 2 cost us $27 a day. Outstanding diving, too.
