Useful for a studio pedalboard, I can’t imagine an “expanding case” or having at least 2 different size cases for me as live player

I got the small one and it can hold a surprising amount. Gotta love the fact they put velcro on the bottom for you too so you can easily mount a power supply under it. The small easily and comfortably fits an MXR ISO-Brick Mini which powers the 6 pedals I have on my board. I'm even susprised how effectively I can hide all the cables in the center channel with the included cable organizing clips. Highly, highly recommend this thing, Daddario cut no corners on designing these pedalboards. I only slightly with it included two-to-four thick velcro covered spacers that could help pedals bridge the height difference between the left/right sides if they had to. (But I guess that's not hard to just make myself)

This definitely seems like a great board. My system changes from 4 pedals and two foot switches to a myriad of pedals on the regular, so the expandable deck is a total life-saver

That looks to be a wonderful board for folks doing some swapping or rearranging of their boards (as I know you do!). I just rebuilt a board and went with the "HoleyBoard 123" in its widest configuration. It does exactly what I needed...and I pretty much build up my board ...and leave it. The last one stayed the same for 25 years! LOL!

This does look cool. And I’m sure it serves a purpose. I literally just built my first pedalboard and got all the pedals I’ve been wanting for a long time but didn’t have the money to get. Lol. I went with the pedal train novo 24 and it is perfect for me as a first time pedal owner. I’ve got enough room that when I inevitably buy more pedals, I’ve got the room to add them on.

My problem with a big pedal board is feeling like I need to hurry up and buy more things to fill it. Given that I'm the kind of person who can avoid being late by setting the clock in his car ahead even though I know I have done it, this seems like a pretty decent solution to that problem.

Great presentation and Cool Music as always, well done.....I am looking at one of these and may buy it...BUT...I have one question.....That middle gap/barrier whatever it is called. Where the EXPANSION part happens at the 17 inch mark. How is it to negotiate around? I noticed you had the Ditto X4 squarely on top of it. Right down the centre. Is there a drop off or a ridge?. Does it wobble on the height difference on the expanded side? If you had say a multi-processor that is 20 inches wide. Would you put extra velcro underneath to compensate and reduce any potential wobble?. Thank in advance, ANY feedback would be very helpful. thanks again. Great Channel.

It does indeed come with Velcro already attached. I would be concerned about replacing it because of the clearance between the 2 pieces as. they slide together.

I have a ridiculous amount of pedals for sure. But keep in mind that's in the context of having a KZbin channel that includes pedal and gear demos. If not for that, I would stick with a much, MUCH smaller set of pedals. There is much freedom in limitations.

@chordsoforion
@chordsoforion 2 жыл бұрын
Good question. When you expand the board, the telescoping part of the rails create something like a 1/16" height difference, which the Ditto X4 is positioned over. Due to the Velcro material on the bottom of the pedal, there is no uneven feeling or wobbling as you stomp the pedal. Ends up feeling very solid. A small pedal positioned over the divide would likely feel wobbly though. Hope that makes sense!

Hey Bill I have hughe struggles with my PRS 277 baritone. Please tell me which strings and which gauge you use. If you know any good string brand that builds good baritone strings, please tell me. I am also willing to pay more. D adarios usually get old so quick but elixier only has the thin ones. Currently I have 12 to 68 elixiers and man the g string struggles and it buttes a lot (it is not wound). Also I have hughe tuning instabillities with it. Got it back from the luthier and man o man that thing had string buzz, unreal. Also those strings dont stay in tune, it has so low tension. I just get the feeling that the SE 277 is a piece of s*** and i feel very sad and unwilling to play it. Thank you!!!!

I use D'Addario XL157 baritone strings on my SE-277s. 14-68. I really like them. They tend to last about 2 months for me, which is not bad for an uncoated string. Agreed in regards to the Elixir baritone strings. I use them some, but swap the third string out for a wound version that is a little heavier. Also, StringJoy makes some nice baritone sets.

If you really prefer a coated string option for longevity, might be worth looking at a custom set of Elixir gauges. There are several retailers that sell them that way such as Strings and Beyond.

@@chordsoforion How do you come around with the 14 to 68 gauge? It seems a bit heavy to me. the elixir 12 to 68 plays like butter but is just doesnt cut it with the higher strings... the custom idea is great
@Emily_M81
@Emily_M81 2 жыл бұрын
@@marcusstrymon693 I was going to suggest Stringjoy, too. I have a set of their strings on my SRC6 (30" scale) and like them. They'll make you a set of strings in the gauges you want, have a tension calculator, and you can also message them with your ideas and get string recommendations. You can get gauges .018 to .026 plain or wrapped. They just released coated acoustic strings (Foxwoods) doing it a different way (coating the wrap before it's wrapped vs coating after the string is made in an effort to retain brightness) and may get to electric strings next and for all we know are testing them now (I have no idea on this!) Once the strings on my 27" baritone 7 need replacing I'll be using Stringjoys on it, too. .010 .0135 .018 .026 .036 .048 .064 (it's tuned EBF#DAEA top to bottom, hence the thicker 3rd and 7th strings)

I would consider other factors... unless you're tuning *extremely* low, 12-68 on a baritone should easily handle anything even down to G.

I own a PRS SE 277 (got mine used...2016 model solid body..pretty sure). I tune it to "B" ...sometimes going down to "A" and use D'Addario EXL 157 (14-68) with no problems. (I do all of my own set-up work...occasionally tweak the neck but it holds its adjustments pretty darned well)

@@BrentAdams How does the higher strings work? With the elixirs I can bend like 10s on a LP, its very soft but as said, i just have string noise. Still possible to play smooth licks with 14s or high tension? I use the baritone like a normal guitar, which for me is either swell ambient stuff, also expressive lead solos but no shred and especially mostly for picking with a pick. And I guess with picking it would be better with heavy.
