Thanks for making this video! The mix for Terminal sounded amazing, it really did incorporate a lot of the sound and feel of a live show, which felt really nice after so long without.

Hi men , What do you use the VMR for? . Thanks for share this videos.

secret magic stuff 🤫 Jk, it's just for a analog-y saturation stuff. it's really subtle. I put the same one on each channel, and it's really only noticable when I take them all off or put them all on at the same time.

I'd love a full-length version of what they play from 1:41 to 1:49, I didn't hear that in the concert itself. Is that just a practice or warm-up song?
@ar.ninetysix Жыл бұрын
You can find the Terminal livestream on KZbin, and the full song is called Firstborn (Ya'aburnee). What you highlighted though is, technically speaking, an added section performed only for live shows. Mitch and Alex go crazy with leads and drum fills to close out the song

Hi, I'm new in the drum world, i bought my first drum just 2 weeks ago and it's been the best 2 weeks but I want to know where I can get drum less songs for playing my own $#¡+ over the song or at least how. P. D: I'm pretty much a metal head
@jungleb3 жыл бұрын
Dear Miguel, you can search for drumless tracks in youtube. A lot of them come from Guitar Heroe and rock band. But there is an app (android and iOS) called Moises, also available online. It removes any track from any song

Do you use any samples? If so how do you integrate them into this?

First of all: Great Job as always Chris! U nail the drum sound like no other and keep it real by using natural drum sounds in spite of plugins. Everytime i hear a new mix u did i almost can´t believe how good these drums sound. Thanks for sharing your techniques and secrets with us and therefore help everyone with getting a better drum sound. I have a question but it´s not production-related, hope thats ok... Can u tell me how Alex tunes his snare drum (batter, reso-hz or note)? I know a great drum sound starts with great tuning so i always wondered. Keep up the incredible work!

@@jensen_drums Thanks! He tunes all by feel!

one question : did you time align the room mics with the close mics or did you use their delay as sort of natural pre-delay/early reflections?
@thedrumengineer3 жыл бұрын
Good question! I didn't time align the room mics perfectly with the close mics. I tried to keep their delay natural for the natural pre-delay, like you said. But sometimes the room mics can just sound a little out of phase with the close mics, so delaying them back and forth a few miliseconds or flipping the phase can help them sound more in phase with the close mics (mostly the overheads). So that's what the InPhase plugin was for!

thanks! sounds killer!!!
